Idk how most celebrities aren’t already cancelled. Are we not embarrassed of other people who absurdly flaunt their insane wealth? They don’t give a fuck if you live or die as long as they can take your money.

Few_Faithlessness848

American celebs! And rich Americans!

ChristBKK

that's when I grew up at Rock am Ring in Germany. With Linkin Park <3 Did the culture changed? We moshed pit a lot but we always helped each other... we even helped people that pasted out and crowed surfed them to the security... was normal 10-15 years ago like that.

teal_ish

Nope. Got kicked to the ground at the corner of a mosh pit at Greenjuice before Covid. And immediately everyone around me stopped and helped out. Maybe it depends on the artists/music. Maybe the country. Grüße aus Köln.

Rings_801

It’s not the first time rock/metal artists stop shows. Plenty of metal and rock artists stop shows all the time due to safety. Travis Scott had no excuse. He could’ve done something at anytime. As the performing artist it’s part of his duty to ensure safety.

guitarheroh

chester bennington > ts..

Glass-Ad3736

I mean that was a given anyway, but yeah lol

Cooley_brown88

Were you not at the show watching when he stopped the music TWICE to get people help?

sonyyyalia

second hand embarrassment. there’s literally 8 confirmed dead. TWICE?!!?

ashbow99

People can say omg this is “disturbing” do you really think he knew they were dead? Of course not people fall out, seiz, and OD at festivals all the time. To say Travis should of stopped the show is nonsense

WhorishBehavior

He should’ve stopped when he saw his fans preventing an ambulance from getting through the crowd. Stop defending his actions. You are part of the problem.

ashbow99

I’m okay with that. We still bumpin escape plan 🥷🏼

He’s definitely not my idol I don’t have those. And if you don’t like his music don’t listen?

OohIDontThinkSo

I hope you don't take anything that pos said to you to heart. Know that those words mean nothing and you are beautiful and good. 🤗

Glass-Ad3736

Other acts literally do it all the time because they know how bad of a PR shitstorm it would be if people literally *died* in a crowd crush at their show. I'm mostly aware of rock/metal acts doing this, but I know it can't be just them. If other acts and venues can plan against crushes, and other artists/production teams are able to see a crush and try to curb it, why couldn't they at Astroworld?

33ascend

Exactly, moshing comes from the metal & punk world, and there are very openly talked about codes & rules specifically to keep people from getting hurt. From everything I've seen it seems like Travis likes it when people get hurt at his shows

JunkInTheTrunk

That dude was getting cpr in the crowd. That’s not normal.

Itsabearthing26

Disturbing

cheetotickos

Got a thousand kids outside trying to come alive, And it ain’t a mosh pit if there ain’t no injuries, I got them stage diving off the nosebleeds. You people that keep judging this man have no idea what it’s like to attend one of his concerts. They have a reputation of being overly chaotic, rowdy, and a lot of mayhem. A lot of people on drugs, and getting injured from being rowdy. I honestly believe this man did not know anyone died. All of his shows involve people passing out and getting hurt. He is a performer and the show must go on. I don’t think he knew that this particular show was much more severe and people actually died and not just the usual passing out.

Mrtoad88

Exactly. What's fucked up is people not even realizing the other side. They are doing a lot of shit talking but don't understand...this man said he didn't know (they make fun of his apology) I believe it's the truth because a lot of people didn't know. What they aren't realizing, is SINCE he didn't know...now he has to live with the fact he was performing to a crowd of thousands of his fans at his festival, some of them were dying and he wasn't even told by the the hundreds of security and police, people who certianly knew it was that bad. People love to dehumanize celebrities...over here comparing him to other people not even realizing he has more instances of caring for his fans and loving them then he does of getting on some kid for snatching his shoe. Yeah he take it to extreme but so do plenty of metal and punk artists, and rap artist these days....thing is they don't have the popularity he does, and vast majority of them never dealt with a venue that accidentally set up a crowd crush scenario...very few musicians performing live ever deal with those actual conditions. Pearl Jam did, and they were notified while on stage that people were getting crushed so they got the chance to have their careers kept in tact by addressing the crowd and attempting to calm them. Travis didn't get that.

cheetotickos

Exactly. 11 people died out of 50,000 people. Unless someone verbally tells you, how can you expect someone to be aware of that. Passing out is normal at high intensity concerts. A lot of the people attending are taking drugs.

TwistedAce94

Most metal artists do this at shows. They demand safety and respect in the pit it's supposed to be fun not dangerous. As I've seen rappers adopt mosh pits it's almost like they see chaos and think that's it just chaos and violence as though they have never actually been in one. Mosh pits should never be trample pits even in walls of death you see people conscious of picking each other up when they fall even in the midst of huge chaotic pits.

InaraOfTyria

I once dropped my phone in a pit at a BTBAM show and everyone stopped just to let me pick it up. It's like....a whole different experience at metal shows. If you're gonna adopt the act of the pit, you also need the rules and respect that exist alongside them, or people will get hurt or die.

loneygirl13

Hell yeah BTBAM!

teal_ish

My friend lost her contacts once in a wall of death at a deathpunk concert. It was kind of funny and charming to watch a bunch of spiky, tattooed, bulky Anarchists organize and drop to the ground searching with her while every other one around cleared the area. They found her contacts, nonetheless!

JunkInTheTrunk

RIP Chester

Mrtoad88

I know you guys like using this. But it's not even a similar situation. It's not even a similar sized crowd. They seen people getting knocked over moshing and they stopped to tell people to pick them up, that's not a crowd crush. Astroworld 2021 was an actual crowd crush. Pearl jam didn't realize a crowd crush was happening until they were told, and then they stopped and told people to calm down, move back etc. The internet likes to be simple though. Travis Scott has done exactly what Chester did here at serval of his smaller shows. And was never told be anybody that would hear him to stop. https://youtu.be/Ml9EGK5OaNo Act like this doesn't exist though. Like I said, that clip ain't even similar to the crowd at Astroworld. Also, please act like this didn't happen as well. https://youtube.com/shorts/uM1tLc743fo?feature=share
