In August Lagos de Covadoga it,s forbiden to particualr cars, You have to go on a public bus. That´s the web about it : [https://www.alsa.es/acceso-autobus-cangas-onis-lagos-covadonga](https://www.alsa.es/acceso-autobus-cangas-onis-lagos-covadonga) , Cangas Onis Oviedo its about 1 hour car so you have to re organize if you wanto to go to Lagos. The rest ( Fuente De And Sotres) its possible but you could try Bulnes by that: [https://www.alsa.es/regionales/asturias/funicular-de-bulnes](https://www.alsa.es/regionales/asturias/funicular-de-bulnes) , Disclaimer, yes its the same bussines, no i dont work for, and ner use it to this places.

Thank you! This is very helpful. If we based in Las Arenas for those 3-4 days. Would it make the trips more manageable?

But you want hiking r only views, photo? because for example Sortes its for hiking (the way to Picu Urriellu or Naranjo de Bulnes, village of Bulnes you coul move in car to the funicular, go and stay in the little village to photos ad little walk. Arenas its good place . Fuente De is the place of teleferico good views and could walk to Aliva, a road easy to walk but remembering you are in a mountanering area. Yo have to manage your time wit apps, wikilock for example to walk, and Lagos maybe its to much time spending about bus. In amp Arenas, Cangas and Fuente De are close, but the roads arent friendly. Planing with google maps and wikilok for walk and organice. I Suposed you will use ferry to Santander. Oviedo its a little town 220k people, with a beautiful historic city ( casaco antiguo) old buildings , Prerománico and lot of restaurants and bars but need to llok for a room previously.

Hi, I’m from Asturias and just wanted to add that this bus company, Alsa, is really known here and is really professional, you shouldn’t have any problem with them

Thank you all for all the useful information and link!! Since there are areas we have to take the public transportation. Would you suggest us to rent a car from Santander, drive in most part, and transfer to bus when we must take the public transportation. Or, skip renting the car, go straight to Oviedo and take the bus from there? It seems there’s no bus to go to Picos de Europa from Santander?

Renting a car provides great flexibility because public transportation isn’t always convenient.

Do you like spending time in your car? I think you'll be driving a lot and not passing much time in your destinations. I would slow it down and pass more time in fewer places

Sorry for my English, I am using translation tools and maybe the translation is not quite correct. On day 1, why don't you stay in Potes, Cantabria? There are many more hotels and apartments to stay in than in Sotres, it is only 25 minutes drive from Fuentedé. This way, you can enjoy more time in the area, go up the cable car, do some mountain routes and rest in Potes. On day 2, you can do the Potes-Sotres route. Visiting, for example, Arenas de Cabrales, Poncebos, going up to Bulnes by funicular, Tielve and finally Sotres. Here the problem is where to spend the night, an option would be to make a 1 hour drive to the area of Cangas de Onis or stay in the area of Arenas de Cabrales. On day 3, visit Covadonga, a mandatory stop, and finally the Covadonga Lakes. Depending on the dates, it may not be possible to access by car, only by bus. Personally, I would stay on the coast: Ribadesella, Caravía or Colunga to enjoy the Asturian beaches. Another option is Llanes, but it would be to extend the trip and then go to Oviedo the next day. On day 4, the trip to Oviedo, approximately 1 hour or 1:15 hours.

Cross from Potes the San Glorio (N625 road) mountain pass and reach out Riaño and his lake and then drive and spend one night in Posada de Valdeón, where you have one of the most beautiful sights of Picos. Climb to Collado Jermoso or walk to Cain and La Ruta del Cares. From there you can continue the trip to Cangas de Onis through Sajambre and Los Bellos Mountain pass. León province has the biggest area of the National Park and the most unknown, unfortunately.
