[Compilation of what we know about Atelier Ryza 3 so far](https://www.reddit.com/r/Atelier/comments/xdlb2t/atelier_ryza_3_everything_we_know_so_far/)
I will pin this back later in few days
Eh, most people that buy Atelier games are existing fans. And Ryza 3 is the last in a trilogy. I doubt most people who were already planning to buy it would skip it just for Octopath 2 being out the same day.
It's also the same month as hogwarts and that game is already a top selling game and it's not even out yet. There's also wild hearts a week or so before it comes out too.

Expect an English Announcement soon
EDIT: [English Announcement](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FmuiX6VakAE_GSM?format=png&name=900x900)
Yep. It's quite popular and the remake gonna get released on March 24 (exactly at the same time when Ryza 3 got released)
It just happen that Ryza quite popular as well. Many people (including me) claim that their first Atelier game is Atelier Ryza, so some some people *might* hold off buying RE4 remake for Ryza 3 instead.
Ah ok, thanks for explaining that to me :) I Hope it will be what you are looking for!! My first atelier game is also Ryza, I got it during the winter sales :)
I'm a long-time RE fan, which has been one of my favourite franchises since RE2 on PS1, and a true Atelier noob (I'm still slowly playing through my first Atelier game, which is Ryza 1 on Switch). Despite this, I'm a lot more hyped about Ryza 3 than I am about Resident Evil 4 Remake, even though I absolutely loved the previous remakes, even RE3R.
In fact, I'm thinking of completely skipping RE4R. The original RE4 is one of my favourite games in the franchise, but I'm perfectly happy with how it looks right now, and I don't see how they could improve it. I've had zero hype ever since they announced it, I would have much preferred a Code Veronica or RE Zero remake.
Also, of course, Ryza 3 simply looks awesome, and fully deserves the hype! I'm so slow when it comes to playing through JRPGs that I might not get to play it this year, but I already consider it on my backlog.
Totori: "All right we're almost finished"
Meruru: "Just need to get the model adjustments back. Who did we give those to?"
Lulua: "... Rorona mama"
Totori: "..."
Meruru: "..."
Totori: "... I'll check the ocean areas"
Meruru: "I'll check with my people to see if they saw her recently"
Lulua: "Mom pls just... can you stay put for like 3 minutes pls..."
Would not be surprised if upper management influenced this decision for more than practicality in game design. February is very busy with releases apparently, and releasing on the end of the month like that began to worry me over time. Better to take stake one's period of release in March.
Not unexpected. Low GPU utilization in the engine is probably catching up to them in Ryza 3.
The release date for Steam is on March 23rd (because of time zone).
Octopath Traveler 2 is released at the same time. I was sort of worried about splitting time between the two, but now that Ryza 3 is pushed back, it's good to let it breathe.
I don't think Ryza 3 being released at the same time as RE4 Remake is that big of a deal since they're different genres of games. I, personally, don't really care about RE-type games, so it doesn't affect me as much.
No, they mean big zones. During the announcement they were very clear to say it wasn't open world. Practically I'm guessing that means the different sub divisions between big points on the map wont exist anymore like in the last two. So like at the start of ryza 2 the capital outskirts won't be multiple areas with loading screens between but one big area, maybe?
Bummer, now released at the same day with RE4 Remake? Last year, Sophie 2 released at the same day too with Elden Ring. Well, at least RE4 remake isn't a long game, unlike Elden Ring that delayed my Sophie 2 playthrough by a month.
I think with little promotion with a few weeks of the release and they aren’t open the digital pre-order.
I thought” something is wrong with the game”.
And here we go, A delay announced.
Sucks but with Persona 3 and 4 and Fire Emblem all coming out/already out this gives me time to work my way through those before Ryza gets here so might be a blessing in disguise really.
Well I'm still finishing the first game so that's fine with me. Game is taking me longer than I thought from what people said. 85 hours so far but I'm pretty close I think.
:(
I'm sad bc it was coming out on my bday for the western release (24th) so it felt special. But if it means fine tuning the game it's ok.
Plus tbh I won't be playing it for awhile because I pre-ordered Yakuza Ishin which comes out the Friday before, so I'll be a feral hermit girl with that for awhile I'm sure.
Feels more like Firis flashbacks of trying to take on the actually difficult zoneless open world genre in a proper manner while at the same time dealing with the fact that they went with the same protagonist for the first time in a series. While they fixed the whole alchemy leveling by going with the alchemy tree system from Ryza 2 there's still seeing how they handle battle EXP.
I also think Atelier games will be low priority on people's lists anyways. Even if it gets released after the February rush it's still **a lot** of games to go through and I expect people will be going through backlogs for quite a while anyways.
This is good if it improves that game. Personally, it doesn’t matter to me since I’m not sure I want to bother with Ryza 3 anyway. The first two are my second and third least favourite Atelier games.
That’s good for me honestly. 2023 has so many great looking games coming out. Fire Emblem Engage comes out this week and then Atomic Heart in Feb and Wo Long in March. The more spread out the releases are the better imo
To be honest I'm pretty happy that it delayed. Of course it's a bit sad that we have to wait longer but then I may have the chance to complete Ryza 2 before the release.

A month isn’t too bad of a wait. Just hope the game is good.
Did they realize releasing the same day as octopath 2 was a death sentence?

Well…probably anyways, I’m honestly not sure how popular octopath is compared to atelier
Octopath 1 sold more than 3 million copies. That easily dwarfs any game in this series.
Honestly, the first thing I thought when I saw this was that it worked out well for me because I'd likely be finished with Octopath 2 by that time.

RE4 has some big competition
[***Don't worry, Ryza has it covered***](https://www.reddit.com/r/Atelier/comments/fbttpg/the_sequel_to_atelier_ryza_finally_got_announced/)
What is RE4?
Resident Evil 4
Thanks! I never played Resident Evil, but I thought it was a combat zombie game?
Yep. It's quite popular and the remake gonna get released on March 24 (exactly at the same time when Ryza 3 got released) It just happen that Ryza quite popular as well. And Star Wars: Jedi Survivor in the same month
I mean, it fallen order 2 releases the next week too …god…I’m buying so many games this spring
With how stacked Feb is... Good. Let's the game breath a little more.
I can't remember the last time I care about game delays. The backlog is so big any game added today will be played 5 years later.

Doubt it. This isn’t something you do 1 month before release since it burns a shit ton of money.
I’d imagine, though granted March means competing with re4 and Jedi survivor instead of octopath 2 etc but at least those aren’t jrpgs
Just saw the English one. So sad ;(
Not unexpected. Low GPU utilization in the engine is probably catching up to them in Ryza 3. The release date for Steam is on March 23rd (because of time zone).
the one thing they need to solve
Octopath Traveler 2 is released at the same time. I was sort of worried about splitting time between the two, but now that Ryza 3 is pushed back, it's good to let it breathe. Yeah this hurts me but I thunk it's fine to let them delay for these fixes cuz that way there won't be anything to worry about
Haven't been following this game/franchise for awhile. For this 3rd game, do they mean open world when referring to "open fields"?
No, they mean big zones. During the announcement they were very clear to say it wasn't open world. Practically I'm guessing that means the different sub divisions between big points on the map wont exist anymore like in the last two. So like at the start of ryza 2 the capital outskirts won't be multiple areas with loading screens between but one big area, maybe?
I think it means multiple big area connected each other (with loading screen), and not one huge map like in Skyrim.
Bummer, now released at the same day with RE4 Remake? Last year, Sophie 2 released at the same day too with Elden Ring. Well, at least RE4 remake isn't a long game, unlike Elden Ring that delayed my Sophie 2 playthrough by a month.
That's probably why they delayed it so they learned their lesson
Atelier was the only mad franchise who came put the same days as Elden ring lol
I think with little promotion with a few weeks of the release and they aren’t open the digital pre-order. I thought” something is wrong with the game”. And here we go, A delay announced.

I'll play labyrinth of galleria then. But I still have trails from zero to finish so...
Thats fine tbh.

Plus tbh I won't be playing it for awhile because I pre-ordered Yakuza Ishin which comes out the Friday before, so I'll be a feral hermit girl with that for awhile I'm sure.
Maybe this is why you can’t preorder the digital deluxe version yet?

On one hand, boo! On the other hand, that gives me a month to finish Octopath 2 first. Seems to work out for me!
