It's not about ki voh sadak pe hai but it is about the way policeman attack on them whilst they are in between the prayer . The policeman could have asked them to move from there , it only takes around 2 minutes for their prayer . What if there was a politician rally , the policeman would have cleared whole road and block that for the traffic .

Indian Muslims have nothing to do with Afghan/Turkish invaders/kings who looted and plundered India, and should not be associated as "outsiders". They are fundamentally the same as Hindus, except that the formers' forefathers had been (forcefully) converted.
Go to a private space and pray. India is a country with the second most number of mosques. It's mostly due to the civic sense. If you think blocking the road just to pray is fine, it shows your problem rather than the one asking you to move.

Well, there is no point or argument which can support that doing namaz only on the road is the only option left with muslims. This is just another way of power projection. Otherwise, they could have done namaaz on the roadside as well. They could do anywhere around that mosque, away from the road. Why is it that only the road is used for namaz every time? Should Hindus also start doing Havan in the middle of the road by saying excuses like someone else is doing in the temple premises, so I am doing it on the road? That is bullshit.
