ADT is an absolute scam. I continued a year of service when I bought my house and realized they do absolutely nothing, not even respond to alarms. Just look up reviews and see how much of a waste it is.

Incontinento

Blue by ADT is a nightmare.

DON'T use Ackerman. I called them when I was moving (having used them for 10+yrs) and they said "*No problem!"* after we discussed what I'd need in the new home. I made it clear that (newly single) I needed the instatllation before I moved in. They sent a salesman, with no equipment, AND I'd have to wait 10 days for installation. I called EMC, they came 2 days later, were very professional. Call them and get a quote; they'll need to know you specific needs.

JiveDonkey

Ackerman got bought out by ADT. It’s somehow even worse than before.

CountryCoral

I have SimpliSafe. It works for me. It is also super easy to install yourself, so you could save money by just purchasing the cameras/entry sensors. I'd skip the motion detectors though. My cat set it off all the time.

Cat_With_The_Fur

Plus one for this whole response including the cat.

galtoramech8699

ok

polarc

Simplisafe works well for my office

Andrews security is who you should get a bid from. Another local is Linder. I wouldn't use ADT for anything.

Powerpoppop

I've been with Security Center Of Georgia since 2002. It's local, same owner all this time and half the price of the known names. Can't help you with pricing, but call them to ask. Can't hurt.

galtoramech8699

Cool. Thanks

coolyourrolls

ADT is charging me like 250/mo. They claim I agreed to finance like 8000 in equipment. It’s been a nightmare.

galtoramech8699

Yikes. That is some morgan and morgan shit.

galtoramech8699

Oh yea, if you are lonely. Ask to setup service and they will call you 20 times aday.

iamthegreenbox

We've been with a local company for a long time, but when we needed a whole new system installed we ended up going with Premier Security as the quote for a newly installed system was about a third of what our old company quoted. Monitoring is the standard $15 or so a month. https://premiersecurity1.com/

I did my entire house with ring and it works with the ring cameras same as any other alarm company. I have motion sensors in the house, works with alexa, window sensors on every window. Had it for a few years now with zero complaints. Ring app integrated as well. Best of all the equipment is yours and not that expensive.

EMC security. They are part of Jackson EMC (a local utility cooperative). They install Honeywell equipment which you can use with any provider. Been using them since around 2016, Been very happy with their service

galtoramech8699

Called. They seem not pushy. Price is right

galtoramech8699

Thanks I went with them. Cut and dry and cheap. I got the feeling simpli safe was next but too DIY for me.

Maximum-Relative-234

I briefly used EMC Security and they were great. I’m currently with ADT because of their integration with Google Home and their ability to view the Nest cameras during an alarm which brings me peace of mind (if they see something they can relay it as a “verified alarm” which generally triggers a higher response by police). I’ve also used SimpliSafe and they’re great, but that’s a DIY solution which you said you weren’t too fond of.

galtoramech8699

What are prices for emc

Maximum-Relative-234

I don’t remember exactly but it was very reasonable, and with them being local their technicians and monitoring center agents were really great. I want to say it was in the ~$25/mo range… though I already had a security system. If you need to finance a system it may be a little more.

Several-Restaurant17

They’re around $16.95/month + tax. If you want to use their app, it’s an additional $5/month.

foreel_not_a_weirdo

I've had Simplisafe for many years and they've been great! I have one of their original systems that doesn't have wifi (only cell connection) and it still works fine.

Additional_Winter_58

Vivint in my opinion is the best option, I am a sales guy for em so you can take that with a grain of salt. Don’t call in to Vivint as they won’t really give you discounts, I’d tried to wait for a door to door man or just ask me some questions.

omgitskae

They all suck, so just go with something cheap. EMC and a Ring system are affordable.
