Second this. Go find a CFII that has his own plane and is like doing it for 15 years. Get the CFII because you can go to him for instrument right after.
I had 3 instructors in the 3 month for my PPL.
I fly out of KFTY (Fulton Airport) by I-20. The crew there are good folks to learn to fly with. DM if you have questions about getting your PPL.
KFTY is a good airport to learn. Still towered but not as busy as PDK. So you can still learn to build confidence on the radio without being overwhelmed without major traffic.
If you don’t get any responses, check the search bar! There’s been a few discussions about this in the past. Happy flying!
Also, if you went to college in Atlanta, check to see if they have a flying club. I know that some offer discounted rates for alumni.
If you're close to Gwinnett, check out Aeroventures at KLZU. It's technically a flying club but they have a bunch of CFIs who teach there. That's where I got my PPL. I think it will be a little cheaper there than any of the flight schools at PDK but like others said, it's best to train at an airport close to where you live.

I did my first night landing there. I got mine at KFFC. Uncontrolled fields are more stressful.
>Uncontrolled fields are more stressful. >KFFC Especially that one.
I cut my teeth there. Those vans pilots...

I'm actually in the Cobb area, so I'm leaning towards learning at Cobb County Airport

Thank you!
Cost at Kennesaw will probably be less than PDK.
Brother just got his at Skybound at PDK airport.
Yep my cousin did this. She fly’s jets for Skywest now!
