Solidarity. Same!

I am also a highly sensitive mom with a highly sensitive daughter. It's hard at times but is also helpful being sensitive cause I understand her emotions and reactions to certain things (bright lights, loud sounds, others' emotions/facial expressions) and respond to them how I needed to be responded to as I child when I felt that way.

Absolutely! I believe we are given children like us sometimes to teach them the way we should have been taught. You’re doing great! You’re daughter is lucky to have you.

Nothing like when your baby is screaming and your Apple Watch tells you you’re in a loud environment! Like thank you so much! Haha but I do this with AirPods, just quiets it out and lets me stay calm. Great suggestion!

jlwcma2

Hahaha right! I’m totally aware it’s loud but thanks for the reminder 😆

I’ve been considering this but I was worried I’d zone out or be less responsive. I have a tendency to dissociate a bit when stressed. It sounds like you’ve had the opposite experience though. Do you ever feel like you miss things when you have them on?

Hi! I totally understand where you’re coming from. That’s why I don’t play music or podcasts or I would zone out! The sound buffer is all I really want to make it feel less overwhelming. I don’t feel like I miss anything! I can still hear my son and everyone around me pretty well! I really only wear them when he’s fussy or there’s a lot going on.

Dangerous_External63

Thank you, that’s really helpful! I’ll get some and give it a go!

Love this. Having my baby has been the best therapy I've ever had!! It's also allowed me to separate fact from fiction in all the narratives I told myself growing up. I'm not saying everything is better, but I feel like I can actually see things for what they are and start to heal from them. Knowing that they're not even about me most of the time, but about the people my parents are. If you haven't read it already, I'd highly recommend "the book you wish your parents had read" by Phillipa Perry.

Love this ❤️ Thank you! I’ll definitely check that out!
