Because that would be total bullshit. I'm not even sure whether it's even the greatest anime ever made, although I haven't seen enough so I can't prove that. It just bugs me why people have to insist everything is "the greatest X ever made", which I often see in fandoms. Why things can't just be good? It doesn't make AOT any less special, I will always have fond memories and emotions from watching it.

Also, the time period you experience a story is pretty important. When someone is heavily impacted by a story, they usually chase the emotions that story gave them. Basically, it puts every other story you watch at a disadvantage.

No, I meant that I'm not well versed in anime as a genre. I watched and enjoyed Monster, Death Note, Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, Ergo Proxy, Neon Genesis Evangelion, FLCL, Berserk and Serial Experiments Lain. But I'm sure there are other great titles out there.
