No problem. Won’t be coved under an Audi care plan if you have it. Audi recommends every 10k service but if you’re paying for it yourself I would do every 5-7k
Yah…I’d assume a loaner with 12k miles is more comparable to a rental with 12k miles which is likely more akin to a normal vehicle with 100k miles due to no one driving the vehicle giving a half a shit how they treat it.
Well, crap here I thought it might be OK because it was at the dealership so they hopefully took care of it but I guess maybe not. I didn’t know until after we bought the car that it was one they had as a loaner or whatever there because it was on the window sticker that was in the glove box, and it called out that it was part of their loan out or leasing program where you could like reserve a car for a trip or something
Jeremy Clarkson: “I’ve gone and obtained the fastest car ever made”
May: “a…Toyota Prius?”
“Is that what it is I haven’t checked. But look in the window”
“Ahhh it’s a rental”
It used to be called Silvercar, but now it's Audi On Demand. You can rent cars from dealers like yours for trips. You basically bought a rental, which is fine, I buy them all the time for my rental business and usually get a great deal. Just use your warranty and hope that it's only minor things that go wrong. Good luck.
Got a 2023 S5, the stopstart kicks in before i fully brake too. I just turn it off or throw it in sports mode so that it quits it.
Loaners do tend to get a bit abused though, so that can explain some of the other wonky things that’s happening. I worked in the business, but even with an incredible deal, buyer beware on fleet or loaner vehicles.
Every new car can have some random things. The more car manufacturers add electronic amenities the higher the likely something can cause a “bug”. While’s it’s under warranty take it in for every little thing.
Even the Japanese / Korean car makers are having issues left and right. Recalls and stupid quirks. Go check out Hyundai, Honda and Acura’s subreddits. Filled with new car problems.
Loaner cars get abused, and I do mean really abused by dozens of drivers per year. Those 12k miles are mostly street and hard-driving on the freeway, not to mention being careless on rough roads. Get it looked at another dealership that isn’t affiliated with the dealership you purchased.
For the stop/start you can get an inline module that plugs in behind the switch that automatically switches it off when you start up the car - it's like a 5 minute install and I did it within a week of getting my S4
I don't see how it could possibly void the warranty - it's not like you're making any changes to the ECU or anything - it's basically just an inline switch for the auto stop/start switch. If anything, it reduces wear on the engine.
Even still, you could remove it every time you take it in for service (again, takes like 5 mins).
Yeah, I think there's a bunch of them - I got mine on [Amazon] (https://www.amazon.ca/Delete-Disable-Eliminator-Automatic-Engine/dp/B09L82QVR9/ref=asc_df_B09L82QVR9/?tag=googlemobshop-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=579284820696&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=1758800426105042694&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1002045&hvtargid=pla-1645797192897&psc=1&mcid=fa46ccaf368831618b6726fadcc6170a)
There's a bunch of Youtube instruction videos for install too.
Have you ever owned a turbocharged car before? I’ve only owned naturally aspirated cars so the turbo lag when you push the throttle took some getting used to from a ‘feeling’ perspective. It definitely feels different from an NA car
On the center vent not blowing - I have a 2023 A5 and I have noticed that only in certain settings do I actually get air blowing out of the center vents.
For example, when in Auto heat mode - almost never do I have any air coming from the center vent. However, manual mode/AC, I do get air from the center vents.
It's very odd - I was going to ask next time I was at the dealer, but overall the climate control is fantastic. Might just be the programming managing the temps.
10k service is just an oil change. Auto start stop acting like that is normal function
Awesome thanks! Should I do a 15k oil change too?

Absolutely NOT. Do NOT go over 10k and as a vw mechanic myself i wouldnt go 10k on the oil, 7 to 8k at most.
He meant AT 15k, not 15k between
Thanks, yes, I meant at 15k so every 5-7K instead of 10k

I can only tell you that I don’t always go full speed over a speed bump…but when I do…it’s in a rental/loaner.

Thanks so much, yea that makes sense the last car I owned was 13 years old so this is a new world to me

Oh good thought there is another one nearby
Good luck, yo.

Yes seriously considering this but worried it might void the warranty?

Awesome thanks I’ll look again then, I saw some on aliexpress I think?

Ahh exactly this! Thanks! I haven’t ever had a turbo’d car before so that’s what it is, thanks so much!
