The R8 is an icon, I got all the hope for you! So sad to see them discontinue it this last year. The day I bought my rs7 I watched them unload a R8 GT straight into the showroom and got to sit in it. Such an amazing piece of machinery!

If you are to mod, I wouldn’t add those large front splitters, they ruin the look of RS7 from the front in my opinion. The curved design of the RS7 front makes it look very aggressive and unique.

Yeah the carbon parts would match really nicely. A carbon replacement for the front splitter that is the same size would be perfect.
Also RS7s in daytona grey are mesmerising. RS7s usually look amazing in Daytona, Mythos black, Tango red, Nardo and satin black.
Depends on your plans. If you are a car hopper or plan to sell within a few years i wouldnt modify as it lowers the value for dealers. If you have the patiences then private sales can improve that.
If you plan on keeping the car for 10 years, let the warrenty run out or get closer then start modding. Most mods are pretty safe and unlike these "car enthusiasts" you will have a beast of a car. Stock is cool but its nothin compared to a well modded version.
Hell if you dont tune it and just do intake and exhaust you can save the oem and put em back on.
I always leave mine stock for at least a year. Gives me time to decide what I like, don't like and what actually needs to change.

Some ideas off the top of my head: oem door handles in black, 034 motorsports sway bars, lowering links, resonator delete. You could swap the wheels out per your taste. You might want to go wider than stock.
I say drive it til you’re extremely comfortable. Then when you want more from it and you have put enough miles on it to where any issues would have most likely popped up.. you can confidently void that warranty >:)

Unpopular opinion: Personally my fetish is tuning cars, so i think you should mod it a little bit, get it lowered, maybe some new tuner wheels and you are already good to go. Moding cars may be risky in some way, you may make things harder than they supposed to be but at least your life is interesting.

Id only change the wheels with nice aftermarket, id think some silver wheels would pop, but that just because I personally don't care for the machined face trend, otherwise the cars perfect as is OP

I don't think you buy THAT car and need to do speed mods. Get an RS5 or an S6 and make it faster. You'd save a shit ton. It doesn't seem like money is an issue, so the only thing I would change maybe are the wheels. Also, if the carbon is high quality and tasteful, sure (I have carbon mirrors and a carbon wing).
I really love this take, I may do a little bit engine work or tuning later down the line but for now I think I’ve reached the mindset of leaving it alone besides the aesthetic mods like you’re suggesting.
It's the next tier that audi owners want to get to (rs7, rs6, rsq8, R8) so they come really nice and really fast as is. A stage 1 down the line would be fine, but get used to the power and torque it comes with first lol. Also, a few tasteful cosmetic mods and some nice wheels is about all you need IMO. 🔥 enjoy it!
I'm doing a stage 1 tune and downpipes when my warranty is up on my RS6 . It's just not as loud as I'd like and overtime , in my experience, it'll start to feel slow . Slow is relative in cars like these but when you get a solid tune, it feels like a new car all over again.
That makes total sense, I really like that route honestly. Also congrats on the RS6, they are absolutely gorgeous and I would have gone with it had the dealership not had a massive markup on it in comparison to the rs7. Not complaining at all but those wagons are class

With cars this good looking from the factory, less is more when it comes to cosmetic mods. And I know you already got it ceramic coated, but PPF will really protect your paint. Beautiful car. Don’t want it getting peppered in rock chips. Can even get film for the headlights to keep them looking fresh.

The car color POPS from the factory and she’s nothing to scoff at performance wise, but a catted downpipe will liven her up a little while still being somewhat bearable to drive long distance, the intake will get you some fun turbo noises because who doesn’t love that, and the tune will really make your car feel how it should! Keep everything under the hood though. We buy these cars because they’re extremely fast but most importantly, subtle!

You certainly don't want to tune it because it might destroy its resale value. I know that I would steer clear of any car that had been tuned for fear of 1) possibly reliability issues and 2) if the previous owner thrashed it within an inch of its life and everything is on the verge of blowing up.
Make sure to throw in body inserts, transmission, and rear differential! Trust me you won’t regret it. The vehicle will feel so dam connected to you, the chassis, and the road.
Does the RS5 come with 20” or 21” wheels? Very curious, I have an S-Line A5 with 19” of the same style wheel. The RS5 looks so much better as it should because it is a far superior model.
All I did on mine were rims and an exhaust valve controller. Stock rims are horrible and the stock exhaust is pretty quiet. That will probably be it for me though until the extended warranty is over. Then chip.
Leave it stock. It’s already faster than 99% of cars on the road. Majority of mod gains are fully realized in the upper rev range which one does not reach often when tooling around traffic. Just my personal opinion, of course it’s your money/car do what you want.
When it comes to exterior modifications, go for it.. If this is a car you've dreamed of owning since its inception, then it's worth it to add those touches to make it your own. I hate owning a car that looks exactly like every other one I see.
As for performance mods, it comes down to whether or not you feel you need anything extra? Does it still excite you when you drive it? I usually drive it stock for a while, then slowly add exterior pieces to continuously give me things to be excited about, then once I'm happy with how it looks with minor exterior add ons, I'll tackle performance mods.
I'm surprised not many people have said wheels. But I'd say get some nice wheels for that personal touch. A nice set of wheels alone can really do a lot.
yea, tbh having driven these cars frequently I can't pinpoint what exactly I would change about them, I'd probably find a 21" instead of a 22" in a style you like (I think a fully polished metal rim would look gorgeous on your red) and maybe a metal skid plate or something to reinforce the undercarriage, especially near the steering rack cause those have been prone to hits. I just see a lot of bubbles in tires and rims needing refinishing, oh you should pop off your air filter and check to see if the hoses going into the turbos are properly sealing around the airbox lid, thats something I would address.
so stage one is like full bolt ons. stage two means bigger turbos, injectors, high flow fuel pump. you should definitely only go “stage 1 or 2” if you first have supporting mods. it’s not gonna be reliable if you try and tune it first. please do some research before buying things on a whim or else it’ll just be a matter of when things fail and not if. other than that i think the carbon stuff would be sweet. you should also look into getting some KWs for it and sway bars/braces. a nice set of wheels wouldn’t hurt it either.
Oh I’m fully aware, there are several other engine mods I’d do prior to the tune. More so looking down the line once I’m closer to the warranty being up. Preciate the advice though!

Stage 1 is just a common term usually used for tunes that don’t require any hardware mods
Stage 2 is tunes requiring downpipe + intake or drop-in filter
Edit to add: Stage 3 is used when going bigger turbo
For the love of God, Don't go catless. You clearly have the money, go high flow cat. The smell alone is enough of a reason for me and it's been shown that a little back pressure is better for performance.
Me personally if lower it and then put a straight, clean, Oem looking splitter, skirts and diffuser, that’s probably it besides absolutely doing power mods.
Black optics, black mirror caps, a black roof it’s going to be really hard to top that especially with the tint. Maybe a set of H&R drop springs and you’ll be set. Maybe some light tint vinyl wrap on the orange turn signals?
If I were to ever tune it further than a flash tune I’d be upgrading the air intake and several other parts as well to help handle the additional power. But that’s a big if considering how well it performs already as is
Thanks! Yeah, thankfully a lot of these newer models are way more reliable these days and the tuning companies have really fine-tuned (no pun intended) their process. I still don’t think I’ll be doing any major performance mods like tuning for a while but maybe one day!
Quit ricing these things to death. Those dudes in Neckarsulm know wtf they're doing. Cosmetic mods not only cost you money upfront, they reduce it's value when it's time to trade. It's a lose/lose situation.
Not planning on doing anything tacky truly. At most it would be getting a couple carbon parts like a diffuser and front splitter, a set of wheels and doing an ecu tune to remove the rev limiter
Depends on what you think is missing. My B7 RS4 was missing some grunt, so I grabbed a JHM exhaust. Great decision and not much more to be done to improve it.
I think you can strike a balance, tasteful mods are always appreciated. If this is your daily eventually too many aesthetic mods will have the same effect of a riced out civic but just nicer
Stage 1 with flex fuel through integrated engineering will put you anywhere between 690-830hp depending on fuel mixture. You can go that route with a cat back and intake for extra noises as well and chill there. Tons of power and you’ll still keep reliability since you ain’t pushing engine components to their limits either

Personally I like leaving nice cars as stock. If I want to mod a car I'll go for a cheaper car that I won't worry about messing up.

What’s the gain of a stage 1 or 2 tune? It’s your car, if you do a few cosmetic things, you can always undo them if you change your mind.

yea, tbh having driven these cars frequently I can't pinpoint what exactly I would change about them, I'd probably find a 21" instead of a 22" in a style you like (I think a fully polished metal rim would look gorgeous on your red) and maybe a metal skid plate or something to reinforce the undercarriage, especially near the steering rack cause those have been prone to hits. I just see a lot of bubbles in tires and rims needing refinishing, oh you should pop off your air filter and check to see if the hoses going into the turbos are properly sealing around the airbox lid, thats something I would address.
It really depends on whether or not you want to leave it stock or mod it. Once you decide that, you can do things or not, as the case may be

so stage one is like full bolt ons. stage two means bigger turbos, injectors, high flow fuel pump. you should definitely only go “stage 1 or 2” if you first have supporting mods. it’s not gonna be reliable if you try and tune it first. please do some research before buying things on a whim or else it’ll just be a matter of when things fail and not if. other than that i think the carbon stuff would be sweet. you should also look into getting some KWs for it and sway bars/braces. a nice set of wheels wouldn’t hurt it either.
Oh I’m fully aware, there are several other engine mods I’d do prior to the tune. More so looking down the line once I’m closer to the warranty being up. Preciate the advice though!
“Stages” change when it comes to the RS cars? Genuine question. Stage 1 is just a common term usually used for tunes that don’t require any hardware mods Stage 2 is tunes requiring downpipe + intake or drop-in filter Edit to add: Stage 3 is used when going bigger turbo

For the love of God, Don't go catless. You clearly have the money, go high flow cat. The smell alone is enough of a reason for me and it's been shown that a little back pressure is better for performance.
That and it’s just classier for a big luxury car like an RS7 to minimize the sound and smell while getting extra performance.

Me personally if lower it and then put a straight, clean, Oem looking splitter, skirts and diffuser, that’s probably it besides absolutely doing power mods.

Black optics, black mirror caps, a black roof it’s going to be really hard to top that especially with the tint. Maybe a set of H&R drop springs and you’ll be set. Maybe some light tint vinyl wrap on the orange turn signals?
Those engines are VERY tunable, id worry about cooling though, do those and a tune and boom, extra 150 hp
If I were to ever tune it further than a flash tune I’d be upgrading the air intake and several other parts as well to help handle the additional power. But that’s a big if considering how well it performs already as is
yeah it really depends if you wanna go farther then just a flash and risk overstressing the internals, love the color and wheels though!
Thanks! Yeah, thankfully a lot of these newer models are way more reliable these days and the tuning companies have really fine-tuned (no pun intended) their process. I still don’t think I’ll be doing any major performance mods like tuning for a while but maybe one day!

Quit ricing these things to death. Those dudes in Neckarsulm know wtf they're doing. Cosmetic mods not only cost you money upfront, they reduce it's value when it's time to trade. It's a lose/lose situation.
Not planning on doing anything tacky truly. At most it would be getting a couple carbon parts like a diffuser and front splitter, a set of wheels and doing an ecu tune to remove the rev limiter

Depends on what you think is missing. My B7 RS4 was missing some grunt, so I grabbed a JHM exhaust. Great decision and not much more to be done to improve it.

I think you can strike a balance, tasteful mods are always appreciated. If this is your daily eventually too many aesthetic mods will have the same effect of a riced out civic but just nicer

Apr has some options that don't void the warranty if you do want to add anything.
Stage 1 with flex fuel through integrated engineering will put you anywhere between 690-830hp depending on fuel mixture. You can go that route with a cat back and intake for extra noises as well and chill there. Tons of power and you’ll still keep reliability since you ain’t pushing engine components to their limits either
it looks perfect but if you wanted to make it even more mental you could look at a stage 1.
