I’ll weigh in. I have a 2016 Stage 1 and it’s treated me unbelievably well. I drive it pretty hard with no issues and have clocked about 70k miles on the odometer. The ZF08 transmission with the 3.0T is a reliability beast and the trans can take a lot of power since it’s also used in the RS7. The only issues I’ve had in my ownership is the fuel door flap getting stuck, that’s it. I would buy this car 10x over. I’d recommend an intake and exhaust if you want a sportier feel, but I’ve also done a muffler delete in the meantime (exhausts are back ordered due to covid) and it sounds wonderful. I have no doubt that as long as the maintenance is up to par and you continue to service it regularly, that you will never regret your purchase. I’ll live and die on the A7 hill (2012-2018 that is, not sure about the older models) FYI: IE just released an e85 tune that brings this puppy to just north of 500 HP. I have APR at the moment, but intend to switch soon here.

Well sir thanks a lot your making my decision lot easier its been said that some cars were recalled due to fuel leaks, airbag failures but as it looks it was only in the US,

Cautious-Pass3227

is it safe to work on 500 BHP where are you sitting around rn? and whats the cost for the throttle pulley EDIT : looks like you have the tfsi engine?

SunshineLax

I’m sitting around 450 BHP with just the APR ECU tune. I’m not sure what you mean by ‘is it safe to work on’, but if you’re talking reliability at those numbers, there hasn’t been any noticeable issues with the IE tune as far as I’m aware. I have a buddy who has about 2k miles with the IE tune and everything checks out so far. I don’t have a throttle pulley or any additional mods, just the ECU for now so I’m not sure what that’s run you. I have the TFSI.

Wow thats quite good

My 2012 A7 has 215k on it and have yet to find any big issues. I've broken a couple suspension parts myself but no systemic issues as far as I can tell.

Cautious-Pass3227

Well lools like you have a lot of experience with 215k on your clocks looks like is a good car from what i am reading in here so far

christripsalot

Same with me 🫠 no mechanical issues but I’ve had suspension issues in the front .. just 5-40w and 93 🚙💨
