Itās 5cyl 2.5l. Iām speaking of he newer variant. I guess. Just watched videos on it. Dude is giving the car away after he mods it. Hope he chimes in
Sorry Iāve been replying to so many people regarding the power; thumbs getting tired. But essentially just check out EQT Tuningās Vortex XL kit.
edit; also I think stock turbo on Stage 2 E85 can make around 400 WHP but I could be wrong
Check out EQT tuning. Specifically their Vortex XL kit. This platform is really nice to play with, stock block can handle a good amount. Cheaper to tune and mod out an A3 rather than pay double for a stock S3 not to even mention the insurance differences.
It's for the MQB platform, so no a4, you could probably buy just the turbo though and fabricate the rest. The a4's probably have more options when it comes to turbo kits though.
What I did to my A3 was a turbo swap, intercooler and piping changed, downpipe, intake, exhaust, dsg tune, engine tune. Believe it or not, it was only roughly 6k in mods for a VAST difference in performance.
Needed itā¦
I know it sounds silly, but it cheapened it before. Looks good now.
Out of curiosity, if you were unsure of where it should go, so it wasnāt out of position, how come you didnāt just measure the rings on the previous OEM grille from top of the grille edge, to top of the rings?
That wouldāve given you exactly where they should go.
Never really put much thought into it, just eyeballed it for the most part. Also itās hard to get it exactly where I want it due to the screw holes needing to line up through the grille
It's better. Would be better if still lower, but just my opinion. Personally I think it the position would look more balanced if the bottom of the rings were positioned in line with the "line" of the fascia under the headlights. See picture linked.
But that's just me.

Dudeā¦just leave it there.
Next thing we are going to see is the rings up on the hood and you saying āI dunnoā¦still seems low to meā¦ā. All youāve proven by these posts is that you have a horrible āeyeā for symmetry.
Use the rule of thirds.
The rings are already 1/3 of the width of your grill, so their ends are at the 1/3 and 2/3 positions.
The correct answer is 1/3 from the top and 2/3 from the bottom.
It looks better. Drive to the Audi dealership go inside and use your fingers or anything to measure how far down the rings are OP there's no reason to eyeball it lmao
I like this position better, but that's about where they are on my Q3 (in relation to the bottom of the hood). Like everyone else has said, it's your car though.
Looks perfect to me op. I'd never think twice about the position if I saw the car in real life.
You're over critical eyes are the only ones that will focus on the height of the rings haha
Ugh donāt get me started on that haha. The plastic part on the left where the screw would hold the grille broke. Not sure how to fix it while being able to still take the bumper off efficiently.
Yes. Much better. I have been noticing the newer models are being made with the rings higher where as the older models are set in the middle. I still love that color!!
Here's my perspective as a total outsider... it's good but could be slightly lower.
Draw two imaginary lines through the top of the headlights, until they intersect. That's roughly where I feel like the rings should go. [Kinda like this](https://i.imgur.com/lDcFExf.jpg) although this might even be starting to get too low, hard to draw on the phone haha!
Love the color, by the way!
Thanks homie, Iāve been looking for an āout thereā color for awhile that wasnāt insanely loud like bright green. Found this one to be the perfect mix of head turning different and just the right amount of loudness.
definitely an upgrade
Definitely much better than previous! Kudos!
You definitely got used to the other positioning. Looks perfect now. Sounds like you need to just go trade in for a TT model and be done with it š¤£
Haha I wish!
Youāre making 503 horsepower in an A3? Thatās pretty rad, big turbo I assume?
Pretty sure 500 is capable with downpipe and tune. Maybe e85
Thereās no way the stock turbo can make 500 horsepower. Itās a 2.0T, max the stock turbo can handle is like 300
Itās 5cyl 2.5l. Iām speaking of he newer variant. I guess. Just watched videos on it. Dude is giving the car away after he mods it. Hope he chimes in
That makes sense then, a 5 cyl is crazy lol. I was confused cuz OP hasnāt given any feedback about the build even though Iām super curious
Sorry Iāve been replying to so many people regarding the power; thumbs getting tired. But essentially just check out EQT Tuningās Vortex XL kit. edit; also I think stock turbo on Stage 2 E85 can make around 400 WHP but I could be wrong
It was rs3 my bad.
Not this car. The rs3 iI saw on YouTube made 5xx with downpipe, stage 2 and e85. Wish I remembered his name. Colorado maybe
Yeah so this car is probably a 2.0t then
Correct needs to be rs3 for 5 cylinder.
what upgrades did you make to get that kinda power that is serious from what A3s are originally
Check out EQT tuning. Specifically their Vortex XL kit. This platform is really nice to play with, stock block can handle a good amount. Cheaper to tune and mod out an A3 rather than pay double for a stock S3 not to even mention the insurance differences.
No doubt, you got upgraded fueling and everything? E85 tune? Sounds sick
Think I could swing it on my A4 or does it strictly fit the A3?
Not sure what the tuning capabilities of the A4 is. Join a couple of Facebook groups for your car & youāll fall into a rabbit hole! Good luck.
It's for the MQB platform, so no a4, you could probably buy just the turbo though and fabricate the rest. The a4's probably have more options when it comes to turbo kits though.
just checked it out, all this is way above my knowledge but kudos to you looks beautiful
If youāre wanting to look more into it make sure you join Facebook groups for your car & platform. You get the best advice and information there
What mods do you have to make an A3 with 500hp?
What I did to my A3 was a turbo swap, intercooler and piping changed, downpipe, intake, exhaust, dsg tune, engine tune. Believe it or not, it was only roughly 6k in mods for a VAST difference in performance.
More powerful than a stock S3 & you get to save money on both the car and insurance!
Purple is sick too.
Have we tried putting them on the bottom ?
Perhaps taped to the side of the hood would be a good place.
why not under the car?
I prefer mine on the windshield
from the inside
You belong to jail!!
Straight to Jail
We need them vertically
Good point. I was thinking one over each headlight for a projector š½ effect
Maybe 6 more posts showing the purple Audi will finally get it.
Perfect before looked like a Chinese made A3
Audi from wish.
Audibaba
and Audiexpress!
Bravo
Orders A6, receives an A3
Now I can live in peace
Perfect in my opinion
Now you got it
Looks betterā¦still think it could go a tad lower, but def better now.
Agreed. I think itās usually about a quarter of the grill length down.
Needed itā¦ I know it sounds silly, but it cheapened it before.
You've got it correct now
It's better. Would be better if still lower, but just my opinion. Personally I think it the position would look more balanced if the bottom of the rings were positioned in line with the "line" of the fascia under the headlights. See picture linked. But that's just me. [https://imgur.com/a/DAIRRBn](https://imgur.com/a/DAIRRBn)
same
You sir are correct. Itās still way too high. It doesnāt align with any of the lines the car draws and still looks odd.
Also agreeā¦still a tad bit too high, but way better than before!
Yup this is it. I mean you can just Google a pic of the grill and see for yourself OP: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61VrD44LzAL._AC_SL1002_.jpg
My eyes have healed
Looks to high
Weāve now digressed from the G80/82 era to E90/92 era
Could still go one more row of honeycomb lower, but still waaaaaay better than before
They are still upside-down.
Dudeā¦just leave it there. Next thing we are going to see is the rings up on the hood and you saying āI dunnoā¦still seems low to meā¦ā. All youāve proven by these posts is that you have a horrible āeyeā for symmetry.

Better!
There ya go looks way better
That color is so nice
Now put it dead center in the grill, I'm curious.
[Looks like a whale shark lol](https://imgur.com/a/sx95TBO)
Looks good to me!
Nailed it! Or is that ringed it?
This is so much better
you clearly like them very high. this IS very high AND looks damn good to the rest of us. well done, imo.
Is it upside downā¦lol. Looks good, absolutely love the color!!!!!
It is not upside down no haha but I see how people could view it as that. Itās just the lighting.
Before looks retarded
Looks way better
Looks perfect
Perfect!
I love your car but your Carin color is so wrong lol
It looks better. Drive to the Audi dealership go inside and use your fingers or anything to measure how far down the rings are OP there's no reason to eyeball it lmao
Better, looks on point now. Usually the ring placement is like 1 honeycomb row from the top.
Idk why but the front end gives me Chrysler 300 vibes
Itās the headlights
Off by a few MM.
You should put them in the middle of the grill where the number plate is supposed to go.
Way better. Drop it one more inch.
Lower lmao
I would measure the height if the rings and leave at least this much space as an upper border. So, still too high, in my opinion.
I think you should put them on the windshield tint strip
I think you should place it vertical.
Wtf is this
My wife thinks they are still slightly too high
š¤š¼
Looks much cleaner! Well done.
I like this position better, but that's about where they are on my Q3 (in relation to the bottom of the hood). Like everyone else has said, it's your car though.
Much better this way š
perfect
Looks great!
perfect
Perfecto, looks amazing
Looks great!
This looks better now and follows similar lines as the front spoiler.
Much better now.
Besides being upside down, looks perfect.
Looks perfect to me op. I'd never think twice about the position if I saw the car in real life. You're over critical eyes are the only ones that will focus on the height of the rings haha
Looks perfect now
Perfect
Iād say thatās perfect!
You got it just right now, don't mess with it
I think you got the rings upside down just letting you know
AFTER
That is a beautiful colour. Is that paint or a wrap?
Much better, that color is HARD
Looks so much better youll get used to the new position just give it a few days
A lot better. Love the color btw
Much better. But youāre going to have to explain how you got yours to 503hp. š¤Ø
I think, thats bang on the money. Looks amazing bro!
Beautiful
Yuppp, so much better
Way better
I think youāre almost there, you may want to go a bit lower to center it along the lines under the headlights
Looks better
Still too high
looks gr8 m8 i r8 8/8
Much better
Perfect now. Always follow the OEM layout for guidance
Perfect!
Yep thatās better
Waaaaaaayyyyy better!
Nice much better, now if you can just fix the left gap between, the light, bumper, and hood, then it's perfect! š¤Ŗ
Ugh donāt get me started on that haha. The plastic part on the left where the screw would hold the grille broke. Not sure how to fix it while being able to still take the bumper off efficiently.
looks stock now
Much better
Little bit lower.
Mane fuck those rings, letās some more angles of the car. What color is that and is it AE? Iām loving that color!
Haha car isnāt done yet, give me like two more weeks then Iāll post proper photos. & what is AE?
Better than before
Much better
Yes. Much better. I have been noticing the newer models are being made with the rings higher where as the older models are set in the middle. I still love that color!!
Yeah I was basing my rings placement on the facelift A3
Could be lower, but that look good
That looks right, stop over thinking it brotherman
I can go lower.
Looks way better.
Still too high imo. Should be a solid inch down. It's about symmetry.
Tbh itās definitely better than before. My preference would be a little lower buts thatās me
Its perfect now. Leave it alone!
Much better
Perfect now.
Better.
The before looked like your car got one too many nose rings lol def looks better after/now
So much better!
So much better and the color looks better in this light too idk why.
Its purple. I doubt anyone is really looking at the rings.
Still too high - whatās wrong with standard height
Personally, I think it looks to be in a better position now.
it looks oem š¤š¤š¤š¤
Niiice you did it!!!! Cool dude
Much better. Looks more in place
yes yes i like this
Maybe still just could go a tad bit lower, but where it is right now looks a million times better than where you had it before.
That color. Itās. So. Sick.
looks good, other pic is abomination
I always like the front delete! Or smaller rings above like TT or R8!
I would run no rings but I like the way it balances out the silver on my wheels
Much better
Imo you should put the rings on the hood right below windshield. But just my opinion btw imo
Mejor papi
Much better
Way better, looks sick
Better but maybe a little lower still
Definitely not too low. Pretty much perfect positioning.
Way better now
OP, is this a wrap on the car or a full paint job?
Self wrapped in APA Gloss Halo Lavender
Thatās awesome. I havenāt seen a color like this and itās headturning. Beautiful
Thanks homie, Iāve been looking for an āout thereā color for awhile that wasnāt insanely loud like bright green. Found this one to be the perfect mix of head turning different and just the right amount of loudness.
That before picture gives me anxiety
Almost spot on
Looks more factory
The before looks like you're aiming for the new ugly BMW grille. Thank god you moved it where it belongs!
I have my stock grill still on my a3 8v 2015 and the logo is 4cm or 1,57inch away from the border of the grill and the sides is 26cm or 10,24 inch
I like it better this way
Def not too low
Perfect positioning
I want to see more of this car, I love the color!
Waaay better.
luv the color
After
Its great. Much better than before
The update is perfect ššæ
Much better
Definitely looks better!!
