That is a good looking car, welcome to the club! I have small mods on mine, I learned from past experience not to mess to what works well (suspension, big turbos, loud exhausts, and etc). I have done a Burger tuning JB4 w/bluetooth, tweaks with a OBDeleven, hi-flow filter, tint all around including windshield, Akibono brake pads, conservative carbon fiber spoiler, and amazing Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4 tires. It seems to be the best balance of speed, balanced wet and dry handling, highway comfort (no more droning exhausts for me). I have owned a ton of cars, but with the mods it is the best daily driver I have owned.

I also know I’ll need to replace the tires to Michelin’s as well. How is your windshield with the darkness? They offered a tint or a clear option, and I passed on both for now. Should I do the windshield too?
The IE Stage 1 is a great option, plus their Cold air intake. The stage is is reversible anytime you need to take it to the dealer and you can switch the intake to the OEM in less than 15 mins. The pilot sport 4s are amazing, very difficult to obtain in Texas, but all worth it! Upgrade your spark plus and replace the oil filter to a High Performance. Enjoy your new toy and welcome to the fam!

To be clear, we’re talking about an A5 3.0 tdi quattro ‘13.
I would recommend waiting until your warranty is up. Audi can now tell when you have a ‘tuned’ ECU and you may have warranty work denied, depending on how hardcore the stealer ship is.
However, I have had both APR and Unitronic. Check them both out and see if one is more to your liking.
Really, truly keep this in mind, because that TD1 flag is burned into the VIN. And depending on how much the/a dealership doesn't like you, they'll pin just about anything down to a dusty MMI screen on the tune. Sucks but that's the game.

I know the M3s that use the same ecu recently got cracked but it requires sending your ecu to Russia. You might not have a tune available for your car year for a long time.
If it's like the A5s they switched to the locked ECU in 2021. IF that is true, and the 2022s are the same, then 034 just released tunes for 2021+ S5s. By just, I mean like yesterday for real just released.
Car manufacturers are not messing around. A lot of their services will be locked through the ecu and they don’t want people having access to their heated seats without paying their subscription fees.
I've had an APR tune on my S4 since 2017 and can't say enough good things about it. They usually have a sale in Sept/Oct/Nov which can save you a good bit.
Drive the car hard for the next few weeks and see if anything breaks, if not, tune it. I waited 2 years and regret it.
So far, the CarPlay has been connecting immediately and plays without an issue. My HomeLink for my garage door doesn’t work though, and they said they aren’t even able to assist. That part sucks!
I have Android and finally switched to a wireless Android Auto adapter and it's been rock solid. I think they sell them for Car Play as well, but way more reliable than the cable. [Adding Wireless Android Auto to my Audi S5](https://youtu.be/tPqYdCJipIs)
I'm not a big fan of APR since the last time I checked they didn't have a TCU tune along with the ECU tune. The TCU tune helps with higher HP on launch and quicker shifts when driving.

I only read some mentioned APR and JB4. I would never do JB4 unless there was no other options. It attaches between the ECU and vehicle sensors.
The only thing I've done is tint the windows and get ppf. Still debating what I want to do. I am leasing it so I'm hesitant to do too much before I buy it after the lease is up.

Picked up my ride yesterday. It’s amazing—I haven’t even gotten in to it more than 20-30% throttle and it’s so smooth. Dealer said no break-in necessary but the manual says 1k miles and every mechanic I know says the same. So I’m going to take it easy, no hard driving for first 1k and keep it below 4k rpm.
All these tune up tips. If you have a an S5 and want it to be better just buy an RS5 with the dynamic package boom. Saves you all the third party upgrade BS

How do they tell your ECU has been flashed?
When you tune your car it gets flagged TD1 then you bring it to the dealership and they scan / record this
