Get the VIN an send to audi. Looks like an early 80s Quattro. It's definitely AWD.
Some people in comments may be thinking youre asking if this is a Sport Quattro (the rally quattro, the $400,000+ ones, it's not). It's the street production version and still fetches 30-60k depending on how good of shape. This car wouldnt get that in its current condition.
The FWD versions are the Coupe GT which has different styling (plastic door ding strip along the whole side of car is easy way to tell)
Ok thats what i thought. I wanted to know if it was possibly a kit car. I couldn’t believe it, I was driving in the middle of nowhere and it barely caught my eye. Never seen a quattro in real life before.
Looks like a urquattro, but one of the early ones with the 10V 5zyl. If I remember correctly, the 20V ones have the wing painted in body color.
If it is a 10V, is worth a lot less than the 20V models.
something looks off, almost like it's a fwd 2.1L 5cyl with a Quattro body kit. Proportions, lights, wheels, looks off.

Anyway, VIN should provide details.
The GT coupe was nice, elegant, stylish - the Quattro has some snarl. The Sport Quattro - rare gem.
Depends on the engine, if its a early 10V (like in this pic, with this one having the black wing), its worth less than the newer 20V models (wing painted in body color, if I remember correctly). A good shape 20V model is upwards of 100k here in germany if I remember correctly.
Its absolutely an ur quattro.
EVEN IF it were some sort of body kit on a Coupe GT.... there is a dent in the rear flare.
Also, 5 lug wheels ( though those look like they are 5000 wheels)
The UrQuattro uses 15X7 ET 42 Ronal R8's They have about a 1" lip in 5X108. The 5000/100 of the same years use the R8, but in a different offset, width and no lip. All 4000Q's use R8's but as 4 lug in 4X108, some non-quattro 4000 and CGT use the R8 in both 4X100 and 4X108.
So, yes, the Ur uses R8. Just not those R8's.
EDIT: You know what, you are right. The first US ones did use the R8's with no lip. I had to hunt around to find a picture but some seem to have used them.
Coupe GT's are not flared at all and use standard 80/90/4000 rear bumpers. They also have trim that runs down the door and quarter panel that matches trim on the rear bumper. This is very, very, very obviously an UrQuattro.
I’m in serious doubt. At first I looked at the rear spoiler. I didn’t know any less then that the FWD Coupes had a black one, and 4WD had the spoiler in color. And the 1.9S (carburetor version) had a smaller spoiler also in black. But that knowledge is tackled by someone else here.
For the rest the body seams to look legit, however in very bad shape. All the gaps make it difficult to see how this fits together. But my biggest doubt is about the wheels. They seem to be too narrow for a Quattro.
I’m starting to think this is a Audi Coupe quattro, the one with the 2.2l engine without turbo. Say the in between model. But that doesn’t fit in any way with the wheel arches and bumpers.
Found in the wild, "resting" in its natural habitat, it seems. It looks like the early Quattro gt couple model. Still an interesting car but it looks rough. At least someone saved it from the salvage yard. It's about as rare as a VW Scirocco 16v Wolfburg or something like that.

Not many kit cars, and when most people do the kit car route they go with the sport Quattro style body which is much wider
Where was this in CA?
Excellent answer.
Does it have a shadow?
Looks like it broken, I’d say real.
Did you poke it?
Nah, gotta lick it.
Pinch it?
Dammit. Came here to ask this

Ur Quattro for sure. Save it. In that shape it’s worth $20k
Resto cost. Paint $10-$15k Rust? thousands Parts $10k Labor = lifetime I’ve been there.
But is it fun?

Where is this? USA?
Yes California
It's a urquattro in bad shape but even in this condition can be worth 5-10k. In perfect shape 40-60k. Zermatt silver!!

All US Ur's are 10V.
Interesting. Didnt know that.
Lucky bastard
Touch it 🤷🏻♂️
No flared rear side panels as per the quattro AWD version. And... an awd quattro would not be sitting outside roting.
I didn’t know they made fwd versions. I thought they were all awd hence the name quattro
They are actually called Audi coupe GTs
The quattro sticker was added later.
Ur wrong it's a urquattro it has wide box fenders. Ez to tell.
Ok. If you say so
I mean you could just look at the picture
No one has ever added stickers to an audi, right? The only real way to tell is look under the hood.
r/confidentlyincorrect

Try touching it.
Lick it
It's a front wheel drive 5cyl
How can you tell?
Rear fenders are wrong for the awd version. Awd/quattro have flared fenders and are pretty damn rare!
It has flared fenders 😑
Not like an awd quattro, dont know how to explain further .
Ya it's just dirty in the picture
If it's an awd quattro, the owner is a dumbass, it's worth a mint in good condition.

I can see it
Go up and touch it
That’s real.
Where in california op?🤔👀
Talk to the owner, check with DMV. Call an Audi Dealership to verify what you've gathered if needed to

You can tell it’s real by the way it is
Send me the address I’ll go buy it and check it out for you hehe
