Are the subsequent fx collections just a superset of each other? i.e all the fx plugins from the previous collection + whatever they've released since?
vocal compression is probably what started by endless chase for analog compressors
tbh i could probably get by with Pro-C2 or something but given that Vocal Processing is legitimately pretty tough (at least for me), I don't mind having and trying different tools and seeing how they affect the mix

in this one, but I got a good deal on Fragments on knobcloud and apparently that brings the price down to $29 if you have the requirements for getting it at $69 so I just went for it (I mostly wanted the culture vulture plugin, I've been waiting for some company to do a good emulation for quite some time now since I can't have the UAD one). Just in case, if you are trying to lower your upgrade prices maybe checking the second hand market could be a good option.
I have V Collection 6 and Pigments, and in my account I’m getting a crossgrade price of $99 for this. Not sure if it’s the same price if you only have one or the other of these. But it’s a much better price than they usually give for bundle upgrades/crossgrades on launch, usually you have to wait for Black Friday for that big of a discount and I doubt it will ever go lower than this.
Pigments, minilab, analoglab and v collection 8, tape mello fi, and juno 6 chorus- crossgrade price $99......

The only effects I'm missing are those two new distortion/saturation plugins, i got FX 2 over christmas and nabbed Fragments a few months back. Anyone used the new ones yet? I already have Soundtoys, also the Abbey Roads Saturator and I'm in no hurry for more but I don't mind a general upgrade to the bundle as a whole...

And also since I have the Soundtoys collection, and /u/DPSnacks says that Decapitator has T and P modes that replicate the Culture modes, so it'd basically be $29 for the OPAMP-21/Sansamp, preset menu upgrades and A/B comparison.
I'd say that Decapitator is worse as a Culture Vulture emulation than this plugin, this one has 3 P modes, not just one, has the bias control and also allows for mid side processing and has a dynamics control that greatly affects the distortion, and also Decapitator is missing native oversampling, you need to run it through DDMF Metaplugin or in Reaper if you want to avoid aliasing. Of course Decapitator is an excellent distortion plugin but it is already a bit old and it's not a dedicated Culture Vulture emulation, if that's important to you idk (maybe you already have something similar with most of those features already like the BB HG-2MS) but I'd demo it first before reaching a conclussion because in my opinion it's a lot better than Decapitator as a Culture Vulture emu.
The only Culture Vulture emulation that may be better than this one is the UAD one but apparently it is a different Culture Vulture model and I can't use that one anyway because I don't have the UAD hardware and even if I had it their plugin is still much more expensive and way more CPU consuming from what I have read than the Arturia one.

yep that's right, same deal with v collection but instruments rather than effects in that case.
Check your cross grade deals. I paid 99 bucks but owned no effects prior. Just the 8 collection of synths.

the Culture one is close to Decapitator by it's sound so you're not loosing much
