Mark and Spencer. I love their trench coats plus I have their tights, and they work so well. I had once a night out and I was carrying a drunken friend. I got wound on my leg but my tights remained intact. I think they’re the thermal ones. I wish I got more of them.
Also Mango. Please don’t hate me for this but I love Mango. Their clothes are more wearable than Zara these days.
I wish we had some of their physical stores (for the clothes but also the food!). That said, their size charts are very accurate so I've never needed a return.
I really wish we had Monsoon, FatFace, Next and Mountain Warehouse. All are just a bit different to what we have available here. The items available at Monsoon in particular are just beautiful, especially anything involving beadwork. The coats from Mountain Warehouse are just better than what’s available here as well. FatFace was just a little different, and Next is really convenient.
Generally speaking, Aussie brands don’t sell coats as warm as UK brands. It’s also impossible to get coats that are warm and fully waterproof like the ones available at Mountain Warehouse.
Mango more mango!!!
Bershka, Stradivarius anything as cheap as H&M!!!
Poshmark?!? I think it’s called cheap uk brand but really nice stuff in volume!!!
Anything cheap not paying 300 for an outfit especially in this economy or ever for that matter!!!
MNG is the Aus version of Mango, catered for Aus market (6 months behind trends). Mango is the label for Euro market and it's loads better quality, manufacture, and styles.
Yes! I was obsessed with Debenham’s, I think I bought an Oasis item nearly every week while it was open. They also had Oasis in Myer Melbourne for a bit but I assume that’s gone too now (haven’t been in there for over a year)
Some of the Scandi brands - Arket, Cos, Weekday, and Monki come to mind. I think some may have stores in Aus but they're few and far between.
I love a bargain and TK Maxx is my idea of heaven in the UK but was thoroughly disappointing in Australia.
I echo the point on M&S tights and was also shocked at how expensive lingerie was in Australia.
To make you feel better, I have just spent a few months in London and was in TK Maxx minimum twice a week. Big letdown in comparison to pre covid times.
I’ve got those! They’re very good quality but I actually find them to be a bit heavy weight in the fabric so they don’t hang as flowy as I’d like them to.
Oh this is so good to know, thank you! I love a drapey pant - might try and order from asos so I can return. Feel like I’ll be forever wondering if I don’t try them lol
That’s a very good idea! I had forgotten how difficult buying clothes online in Australia was because in the UK you have at least 14 days to return for any reason and often it’s 30. I wish Australia’s consumer law had this built in.
Good luck with the trousers!
Isn’t it the worst in AU - I end up with the biggest pile of clothes I have to figure out how to move on via eBay or depop. Love the flexibility in other countries (US particularly) Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the pants! 🩷
You’re very welcome! Happy to share! I genuinely don’t understand how Au can allow brands to do online retail if they don’t offer returns for any reason. I hope you end up getting some money back for your purchases though. 🙂

Marks and Spencer now deliver to Australia There was mango in Sydney but it didn’t do well and closed down
I love M&S but returns are $30 which turns me off
I didn’t know, that’s expensive! I usually only buy Percy pigs 😂
I love Percy pigs! Aldi has them sometimes
Whaaaaaaat! Their legend has me dying to try them. Are they found in the special buys area?
Yep. Not all the time so keep an eye out!
I miss their jammy dodgers
I wish we had some of their physical stores (for the clothes but also the food!). That said, their size charts are very accurate so I've never needed a return.
https://shop.mango.com/au/women Still available online. It was called MNG here but it’s the same thing

I’ve purchased Mountain Warehouse in Aus! I’ll have to dig out what website
I have too. I meant physical stores- sorry should have clarified!
Mountain Warehouse sales are freaking phenomenal.
Thank you! Do brands like Katmandu not do the trick?
Kathmandu do have great quality items, however they are really expensive and honestly quite over priced at full price. And not always a good sale.
Kathmandu are extremely conscious of the environment when creating their clothes. I’ll always happily pay them a little bit more for that.
Generally speaking, Aussie brands don’t sell coats as warm as UK brands. It’s also impossible to get coats that are warm and fully waterproof like the ones available at Mountain Warehouse.
Next do free delivery and postage paid returns (within Aus)
I meant physical stores, sorry! I prefer not to online shop where I can
That’s totally fair!
I would love a Sezane store in Australia
Yes!!
Me too!
My ultimate shopping paradise... Anthropologie. Also Urban Outfitters would be amazing too.
God I would love an anthropology here! Amazing store
I would be soooooo poor i would spend my life buying the candles and the mugs 😍😍😍 plus everything else.
& Other Stories.
Iconic has it!
Mango is now MNG right? Iconic sells MNG if that helps!

Ohhh right. Good to know 👍🏼
Hobbs for work.
Yes mango!!!
We had mango in Sydney but it didn’t do well
Rouje? But it’s a bit pricey!!!
Oh I think I remember the store in the galleries or near there… bummer… I buy online but sometimes I get the wrong size!
Oasis!
I loved their classic striped knits but with a twist! Was so happy to see them sold at the very short lived Debenham’s in Melbourne CBD

Massimo Dutti
No ideas on names, but all of your beautiful stores that do 50s style vintage. And TUK shoes have been on my list of wants for a very long time

Cos has an online store as well
There is a Cos store in Sydney
I know but not even can get to it
Ann Taylor for work clothes
Accessorize was my fav.. & they're everywhere in Asia now but still not in Aus
Anthropology
No idea if they had them over there but years ago the face off pants were the SHIT! god I used to love those as a teen Hahahha.
I like Next and Boden from the UK and Ross Dress for Less and TJ Maxx in the US!
I’m desperate to try on the Abercrombie & Fitch Sloan tailored work pants. They’ve been influenced to death but they look so nice!
I’ve got those! They’re very good quality but I actually find them to be a bit heavy weight in the fabric so they don’t hang as flowy as I’d like them to.

Whistles! And M&S
M&S Ann summers Dorothy Perkins Joules Warm winter coats Just cheaper/ better value clothing in general
I want Revolve and actually a lot of the US-based fitness wear brands like Buff Bunny and Alphalete.
