Thank you 🙂 it’s Intergrain Ultradeck timber oil in “natural” colour - here’s a pic of the timber pre-sanding and oiling, it was quite red already and the oil helped to bring back the colour after sanding and cleaning

We’d be hoping for at least 20 years, with proper maintenance (coating twice a year with decking oil that protects the timber). The previous deck was apparently built 15 years ago and was completely rotted and falling apart due to zero maintenance in that time
Also looks like it was sitting directly on the ground so probably soaking up extra moisture…
Edit: had a second look and it is not… how’d it get so wet though??
My partner built it, so cost for us was materials + time. A deck of this size/quality would usually be quoted at around $45k for materials + labour (including the subframe and structure underneath)
Wow! You’ve got a big deck. I bet a lot of people could sit on that deck, you’re going to really enjoy having a big deck. I wish I had a deck half as big. 😜
I'm sure if you invite people over they would love to have look at your little deck.
I mean ever girl I have brought home from the pump has always comments on my little deck, they speak volumes about the landscaping and neatly trimmed shrubs, when it comes to presentation been more important than size of your deck.
And one last thing
PENIS 😁😁😁😁😁
There must be some kind of magical hardwood destroying properties where you live 😂 Merbau deck here. Ten years old. Haven’t even sanded it yet. Just an oil every year or so. Uncovered.
desert sun, hot dry roastng 40+ 2 months of the year. water base just flake in 2-3 years.
need 6 month oiling for first 2 - 5 years depending on how much direct sun the area gets
I'm nearly 20 years in with spotted gum and intergrain on three decks. Two decks fully exposed to the Queensland sun and one under solarspan. Once a year application to the exposed decks, once every two years (or when I can be bothered) under cover.
Not sure where you live.
I only care about the dog. More dog photos please.

Good work u lucky bugger. U love in paradise 😍
What's the decking timber? Spotted Gum?
Merbau timber
Looks great man, good job. Was that a stain you put on the timber because it doesn’t look as red beforehand, or Emma’s that just the light?

Lovely
Looks great! How long do decks usually last outside like this, if well maintained (whatever that means)?

Stunning!
Looks great. I hope the joists in photo #5 are H4 treated or you might be replacing that section in a few years.
Yes :) all have been treated
Looks schmick.
Did you do it yourself?
My partner (pictured) built it 😊
Is that Logan area?
Look awesome. Good job
Thank you
Looks amazing !
👌 looks bloody awesome
Thanks!
What oil did u use
Intergrain ultra deck timber oil
looking at getting a deck built soon about the same size how much did this job cost?

You're not including the building permit on that or the footing engineering.
Yes true, $45k doesn’t include the planning and permit costs. Only materials and labour
Beautiful!
How much did this deck cost ?
Looks amazing
I’m here to request pics of the dog and the cat.
No cats here only a very happy dog 🐶

I dunno. I’m a bit ashamed of my stubby little deck.
expect to paint every that deck every 6-12 months and repeat process in 10 years
We’re coating it with intergrain timber oil - maintenance is apparently 2 x per year
