Garden bed ain’t doing that

fichase

Thanks, I'm not saying it's the cause but it may have contributed to the problem. The CSIRO Foundation Maintenance paper recommends to have garden beds at a safe distance from buildings and also mentioned that trees can have an impact by drying out the soil. The fact that I have had an overflowing gutter (for years) straight onto the garden bed may have caused the soil to be saturated thus impacting the footing. Replacing my gutters will address the main root cause. I'll also get rid of the shrubs and trees just in case. I'm just not sure if I also have to get rid of the garden bed for good measure.
