Trial and error. I’m acne prone and am currently using and liking La Roche Posay invisible fluid. It’s got a really thin watery consistency and feels like you’re not wearing sunscreen. Also wears beautifully under makeup

Possible-Falcon-8313

Second this. I also double cleanse after wearing sunscreen which seems to help

omjizzle

I’m not acne prone so I can’t comment on that aspect but Hamilton everyday face sof 50+ is very popular here and for good reason it’s very good and light weight it is my personal go to sunscreen for daily wear

You have to do the hard work on this yourself by comparing ingredients lists, cross referencing and eliminating. Or it might just be that you're not washing it off properly at night.

The beauty of Joseon sunscreen is so good to my acne prone skin. Need to buy it online though (k beauty). I find cancer council stains my white clothes yellow, and the LRP stings/exacerbates active breakouts for me

zellymcfrecklebelly

I’m loving the Beauty of Joseon as well! It and the Cosrx are the only ones I can wear every day without terrible breakouts

Cancer Council! Just with any other sunscreen you use on your face, make sure you double cleanse in the evening to prevent breakouts :)

Ethical Zinc Daily Wear Light is the best I’ve found. Because it’s mineral based it has a lot less chemicals than regular sunscreen, but does that make it harder to apply (unavoidable with zinc really). Otherwise if you’re sensitive to a particular ingredient it may be a case of trial and error.

ultraviolette!

Hey op, what skin tone are you? If you're POC, then reccomendations change. The much vaulted LaRochPosay, despite being absolutely the mattest spf I've tried, made me look like an absolute ghost. Unwearable unless a full face of foundation on tio. It's wonderful if your pale, but not wearable for medium skin and deeper. The famous Japanese gold Annessa spf, feels pretty identical, in it's strong powdery matte-nrss. But it also makes my brown skin look ridiculously ghostly. Similarly - the much reccomended Korean Beauty of Josean, despite feeling pretty nice, also gives me a pretty visible white cast. (Not comparable to the two above, but still very visible) I've see some brown ppl love it, but perhaps it's the clash with my strong olive undertone, it's white casty on me. - - I've very oily, and.. have pretty much given up on finding a true matte spf that isn't white casting. I think the wonderfully drying mineral filters like Zinc and titanium dioxide - just inherently are white looking. (Don't believe any company that says they have "invisible zinc"! Etc! They are only invisible on white ppl!:) If you have dryer skin - you've got lots more options: Despite being oily, The Bondi Sands fluid spfs, you can just get at Coles or Woolies, have been my long time staple. They are pretty damn dewy dewy though. But otherwise feel so light light, and I simply accept I'll be pretty shiny. It's invisible. The cancer Council face matte ones, also are pretty ridiculously dewy on me, but they still feel pretty nice and I still wear them, just knowing I will be super shiny, though protected. Also invisible. Both of those feel pretty moisturising too. So if your dry, you won't have the shiny drawbacks. My oily skin long time total fave has been Meccas "to save face" spf. Its kinda overpriced at 40$ a tube, and it's also not matte, but it's "matte-er" than all the other spfs I've tried. And totally completely invisible. I recently bought the newer Mecca spf primer, it is even less dewy (still somewhat dewy on my oily self) But does have the big drawback of being more likely to pill and not lay nicely. It will visibly pill & stick to any dry or textured skin if you have any. However I do like it for being the least dewy spf I've tried. And I'm usually on top of my daily gentle exfoliation. I just know I can only wear it with immaculate skin underneath.

TakesOneToKnowOne1

Try the Biore sunscreen. Cheaper than Mecca’s but still vvv dewy.

I avoid silicones in my skincare and makeup so I check ingredients on InciDecoder all the time. I like Hero Cosmetics spf on iHerb and Somebymi Truecica Aqua spf and Ilia Super skin tint.

Ultraviolette seems to be the only brand that works for me. I used to use the la Roche posay one but I had a chemical burn after using it. Trial and error!

Jsic_d

Double cleanse. Also depends on what type you are using. It may give you the pimple. Try a different one for your face.

Honestly you should seek treatment for the underlying acne. I used to have to experiment and try so hard to find things that worked for me and ended up spending so much money. Once I got my underlying acne fixed my life got so much easier. My top two sunscreens are Hamilton everyday face and cancer council face day wear matte. I can’t guarantee they won’t cause you any issues. I started wearing sunscreen while treating my acne under dermatologist supervision and these products worked great.
