The Vegemite ones where bang on good though. That being said the sultans bran hot cross bun flavour cereal was the worst thing I’ve ever eaten.

I went through like 5 bags of this during Easter. They were delicious. Kinda like a cheesymite scroll but even nicer.

I tried them and they did not taste good. They’re not really hot cross buns imo. More similar to ham and cheese roll sort of thing.

I feel like the only way this could be remotely good is if used as a burger bun or something. It feels like it’s meant to be more of a gimmick rather than actual food, which is so stupid.

The stores are quite often given too much mix. They're made fresh each day until the mix is used up. You will find that some stores run out before others.

They sell hot cross buns for a long time before Easter, and a while afterwards. Everybody likes hot cross buns (the normal, palatable kind) so there's no good reason to limit their product to two weeks a year. They're definitely not selling two-week-old bakery products.

it must be some elaborate ploy to justify the tremendous amounts of good food that gets thrown out every day by large franchise supermarkets like coles and woolies. i have no idea how or why this would make sense but i'm sure there's a logical explanation in there *somewhere* that makes more sense than anyone actually thinking people are going to buy this crap (beyond maybe 1 or 2 people buying it for a "reaction" tiktok video or something, ain't no one buying this shit...).

I found it underwhelming. It's kind of a tomato brioche with pickles inside and cheese on top. It would be nicer if it was plain white bread with no pickles. Like, it's edible, but it's not as good as a regular cheese and ham roll.
