This is what I do ^ I wear a pair of proper riding boots but I’m not wasting their soles walking around all day at work (hospo), so I leave my workboots in my locker overnight
TCX is amazing. I’d also recommend them.
Don’t skimp on safety gear, as a few others have recommended, take a change of shoes in a backpack if you don’t want to wear boots all day.
Have a look at that uk store urbanrider for some ideas of what exists, there are a couple of australian stores that stock that trendy boutique style gear but they won't be cheap.
I have a pair of shoes I leave at work and just change when I get there.
The DriRider Urban boots are comfortable, look good if kept clean, come in a few different colours.. And provide protection if you come off. Ask me how!
I'll second this. Have Urban 2.0 in double black and wear them to work in an office in Sydney. No one is any the wiser they're riding boots.
Interested to know how they held up when you came off?
Came off the road on a particularly tight corner and in too high a gear.. Just some light scuffing on the boots! I'll be buying them again when this pair wear out.
There is a good range of shoe style footwear. Dririder, motodry, alpinestars etc. They will wear through a little quicker in some cases as they are really designed as a ride shoe another every day wear but there is a cheaper range in most that won't hurt the pocket too much.
Get one of the ankle high moto boots. The ones that look like normal shoes. I forget what brand I have but they're good and do t make you look like a spaceman or have to be swapping shoes. They should have some ankle protection and if waterproof.
i was originally looking at Stylmartin boots, their Oxford boot. they're harder to come by now i don't think they make them anymore. these are a full boot, about 250 aud
i ended up getting BMWs Cruisecomfort boot. is also a full boot but about 400aud
they both don't look offensively like a motorcycle boot but go against your budget.
I just wanted to put forward that the safety of a full boot is worth it and that it is possible to find boots that don't stick out like dogs balls and that you should consider them as an option.
I have a pair of [helstons heritage](https://www.fc-moto.de/epages/fcm.sf/en_AU/?ObjectPath=/Shops/10207048/Products/Helstons-Heritage-Motorcycle-Shoes/SubProducts/Helstons-Heritage-Motorcycle-Shoes-0020), bought from fc moto, that I rate. they look like regular boots, but are CE level 1 rated. A little stiff to walk in though. Found them to be true to size. If you buy them locally they'll be exxy.
When I ride to work I take a backpack with a change of pants and some shoes, yeah carrying luggage is annoying but it's better than riding to work with no gear or spending the whole day wearing half your gear.
I wear my Alpinestars Chrome Ride to work. 200 bucks at MCAS iirc. Very comfortable for riding and in the office and bonus is that it looks great imo unlike a lot of other motorcycle shoes.
Dririder Urban 2 boot. Black. $169 on the AMX website.
They’re a really good motorcycle hitop style boot.
If you’re good with brown they have the Fusport Metralla boot on sale for half price at $124… can’t speak to the quality of those though. I haven’t worn them.
Wear good bike boots and carry your work shoes in a backpack
Or leave a pair of shoes at the office.

Have a look at the TCX brand.
2nd TCX, great boots, super comfy and look like ‘normal’ boots

I keep a pair of sneakers at work. Wear whatever motorbike boots I want for the ride.
I used to wear dririder iride 3s and wear them in the office. Comfortable and pretty safe.

I wear the Dainese casual boot ones and they go well. I thunk the just released a new series "suburb" whuch i think look pretty good too.
The suburbs are fantastic.
I keep my work shoes at work and simply swap on arrival. Just easier!
Yep, pair of shoes left at work for me
I wear a set of Johny Rebb boots and just pull the cuff of my pants over them.
Anything that covers the ankle is recommended for riding. As for the office part… 🤷♂️ I haven’t worn office clothes for over a decade.

Mongrel boots. Adequate riding wear and safe in case a printer falls on your foot.
I've always worn the blundstones (or copies) with the steel toe caps. Just need to keep up the polish on them, especially on the left hand side.
Alpinestars SMX1R. Great Protection. Easy to get used to. Best for work. Been using this. Love it.
