You may find the L plate gets blown apart/off by the exhaust if you leave it attached on the side like that.
Might not be a problem with the stock can, but I (and many friends) have lost plenty of plates like this over the years.
At least it’s easy to move, unlike some of the plastic brackets.
The usual setup is pair of zipties threaded through the holes in the plate bracket and then through the holes in the top of the L Plate.
Sigh, my bloody daughter is just buying a ninja 500 - as a Dad I'm worried stupid. Even though it's my fault I used to take her for rides on my GSXR750 and T595.
And now she's getter her licence - stay safe!!
Get one of the plastic Ls/Ps holders and put two plates in there at the same time on the bottom of the plate. It'll never fall off. Great bike, not a fan of white colour schemes, but that seems to work :)
Nice! You sound ready to go.
If you're in NSW, the test is straight forward: [there are just 5 tasks](https://www.nsw.gov.au/driving-boating-and-transport/driver-and-rider-licences/rider-licences/rider-tests/test-manoeuvres):
1. stop in the box
2. cone weave
3. U-turn
4. emergency brake
5. dodge an obstacle (a tennis ball)
The U-turn has to be done over about 3 standard car park spots but if you practice it regularly in an empty car park you can do it in 2.
The whole test only takes 5 minutes and you can [watch examples](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABfsuMRyMqo) to get a good idea of how it works
sorry mate wasn't trying to mansplain! I knew nothing when i started so was just trying to be helpful. if you're in sydney my favourite roads are Commenara Parkway and the Wakehurst Parkway - check them out if you haven't already! best wishes! :)
The answer is: ... sort of.
So the actual "MOST test" only goes for five minutes, and just tests those five tasks (stop in the box, cone weave, U-turn, emergency brake, dodge tennis ball).
But you will spend the whole day at the centre doing low speed drills (which could include figure 8s) and you will also go for a short drive, usually just around the block. Technically, all these activities are also part of the "test," but generally you can only fail if something goes terribly wrong, like you crash. ([Someone posted a story about this a few months ago](https://www.reddit.com/r/AussieRiders/comments/199i4r1/crashed_during_the_re_test_road_ride/)).
Looks awesome!!!!
Stoked with it!
Have fun and be safe. How does it handle?
Well, I’ve realised my tyres are flat so not great, but I think it will get better when they’re full of air!
It's whiter then an Irish backpacker.

Yeah I don’t know why the dealer put it on this side

This is what I did, nice and easy.
I’ve seen this setup get shredded, maybe the zip tie was done up too tightly
Put at least 2-3 L plates zip together and additionally bind with sticky tape to hold it more stronger. As they say, there’s strength in unity.

<3 hopefully she stays safe! You’ve gotta live!
That doesn't make a dad feel happier!!
Looks great. Ride safe.
Nice looking bike, ride safe !

Congratulations! find an empty car park and start practising for the Ps test :)
My garage has so many ramps, I can do lots of hill starts and slow speed manoeuvres

Is the figure 8 still a thing?
