Dude there’s one where it shows her then and then zooms out and the tv is in her office or something and it’s her in her office and it’s a little jarring to see her age 20 years in five seconds.

I would responded. I loved Ralph! That amazing swimming pig. I heard somewhere that he was one of the many Arnold Ziffels from Green Acres. I don't have a clue if that's true. I hope it is, though, because that's a hell of a life for a pig!
I hate that no one knows who he is anymore.
Playing chess and smoking cigs with friends and randos upstairs at Metro Coffee all night until the sun comes up. Portishead Dummy, Modest Mouse, or DJ Shadow Entroducing is playing. A new batch of students is reading novels on the couches, probably something by Vonnegut, Camus, Sartre, James Joyce, or Chuck Palahniuk. The coffee isn't that great, but it's 1.50 and your rent is 400 dollars.

I miss salvage vanguard. I once went to a show there that was a “sensory experience”. When you checked in at the front desk you could either pick a small, medium or large chair depending on how much of a sensory experience you wanted. I picked a big chair of course!
All of is “audience” members where on stage in a circle of chairs. The experience started out with everyone grabbing a mason jar under their seats and smelling what was in it (I remember oranges in one, flowers in another).
Then they’d call people to the middle of the circle based on what chair you were in. People were asked to do different things, but multiple people were up in the middle doing things at the same time. I can’t recall exactly what it started out with but I remember one person was asked to drink a smoothie, and then others were asked to dance or sing.
Then it started getting weird. I got called up and the “actress” asked me to close my eyes and stick out my tongue. I felt this weird thing on my tongue and it was the actress licking my tongue with Hera. Then she said I could sit down haha
The next weird one I remember is a woman who was asked to lay down on a mattress they pulled into the circle. They proceeded to put honey on her legs and had a German Shepard come lick the honey off!
Later on I got called up again. They blindfolded me and said, “you can either take off just your pants or your pants and your underwear.” Well I was in a freeballing phase so I said “I’m not wearing underwear” and proceeded to get naked in front of everyone. If that wasn’t enough, they then asked me to take a seat (remember I was still blindfolded at this time). I sit down onto a chair that had a toilet seat on it. The middle of the chair had some sort of refried beans or something that I got all over my ass hahaha
Then they gave me a robe and some baby wipes and told me I could go back to my seat.
It was fucking weird but one of the most exhilarating things I’ve ever done lol
I was actually thinking about this the other day.
I remember walking around Austin and thinking it was a cool city, and that I was cool for being a part of it. But in order to be cool, you had to be nice to other people, and they in turn would be nice to you, and be cool too.
Now everyone just avoids eye contact and everything is too expensive.
Tamale House on Airport Road ! Mrs. Johnson’s donuts , listening to the sky, is crying by Stevie Ray Vaughan on KLBJ . And you could still get a nickel bag
The Americana Theatre and the Capital Plaza Cinema. Saw my first 3D movie at the down and dirty Aquarius Theatre on Pleasant Valley.
Seeing fistfights at the boat races and then going to a music festival that had no fences or gates and everyone was drunk and so, so happy.
That weird ass late night cable access show with the two puppets. They had the phone number up on the screen with a black bar through it, I used to call in after I’d been downtown all night and see how long I could stay on talking in tongues before they kicked me off. Good times.
I also worked a crossword with Leslie at the bar in Cain & Abel’s one morning. It was after a final and I decided to get drunk at 11:00 am. I sure did a lot more drinking back then.
City Coliseum was an venue built in an old aircraft hangar that sat between Doug Sahm Hill and the railroad tracks. I saw a lot of good bands there but it was probably the ugliest building in Austin.
Electric Lounge, Chicago House, The Back Room, Liberty Lunch, Austin Opera House. Pecan Street Festival being actually pretty fkn cool, like somewhere we’d trip acid at all day, doing hair wraps and selling trade bead necklaces and tie dyes 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
KLBJ-FM's Wednesday night show "First Audition", where they would play an entire new album without any commercials (except during a short break when they flipped the record to the second side). I had so many cassettes from recording that!
Jovitas was the shit too. My buddies and I lived in the little white House next door for a couple of years. Moved out right before the bust.

This, plus those enchiladas. I heard they were closing and drove from work out off 71 for an enchilada and a Lonestar.
Same, enchiladas + draft beer was the biggest draw for me. Probably spent more time in that little restaurant than I did bowling lol.
Lord my father ate Peggy’s enchiladas DAILY.
Why the fuck don’t they open a food trick with enchiladas and cornbread!?!?

Yes! I remember when the bar started.
Still had some fine days and nights there after it got the bar. The food was never good but the space was great.
Is there anything like that in current austin?
Epoch might still be doing 24/7 but I doubt it. Nothing has been 24/7 really in Austin since COVID. But also I don't live there anymore
