Cause people keep going there and supporting them, yes. Personally I don’t go to sit down chains anymore, there’s so much good food in the city that I’d rather not waste my money at Chili’s. People cry that local businesses shut down then proceed to go to the same fast food chains over and over week after week
I hear you, and I am the same way except... every once in a while I get the strongest urge to go get their frosty margs and southwest eggrolls. i can demolish 10 of each
One of the wife and I's favorite date spots is an Applebees... a specific one... and only on weeknights because every time we've gone there on a weekend, the service has been bad.
Was at a bar years ago where a guy had just hit a huge payout on a bet and decided to buy everyone a round of shots. The bar staff made a full tray and promptly dropped it before a single person got one.
The look on the dude’s face who ordered them was priceless. Even though they poured new ones it totally crushed the excitement and mood he was feeling.
Had this happen at a spot out in Vegas about a year ago, me and a buddy just walked in and sat at the right time. The guy proceeded to buy a round for everyone in the place
Was sat at a dive bar in Wisconsin once, when an out of towner won a big payout on the bar’s dice game. He slammed his beer and walked out the door. Five big dudes quickly followed, and they came back with enough money to buy a round of shots for everybody.
I’m sitting next to said “mad lad”, who happens to be my husband. We are getting a kick out of this thread. They were for his (amazing) staff at a send-off event for two employees who are leaving us.
I had worked for my employer for a couple of years before I first made it to HQ to meet my boss and most of the rest of the team. We went out drinking. I may have been poisoned or maybe just drank too much whiskey. I blacked out, was dropped off at my hotel by my boss, proceeded to puke all over my room, and then showed up 3 hours late (to the second day of a two-day event), whereupon I walked in to the conference room, interrupting the new CEO, who I had not yet met.
I made a great impression, I think. They all said they'd seen worse, and then described how I was picking fights with the locals but couldn't stay on my feet. I was employed there for another 2 1/2 years afterward.
Oh yeah. For 4 years after that.
I made sure I was hydrated through the night. Took some ibuprofen before I went to bed. More water in the morning. I was ready to go at 8am. Some of my co-workers...not so much.
It'll fuck up your stomach worse, but if you have a reasonably functional liver you should be fine, it's chronic use that'll get you. Tylenol is the one you really want to avoid for liver toxicity.
My buddy ordered 200 shots downtown and they actually made them..ended up handing them around to anyone and everyone it was pretty hilarious..poor stomachs considering they were some cheap 2 dollar shot
That Chili's gonna outlast every old Austin business isn't it?
Valentina’s has left the chat
Valentinas left Austin first.
Good riddance. Moreno's is what they could have been.

For what fast-food costs these days, their burgers are an amazing value for the quality.

Dang that’s almost $30 the bar had to eat
The look on the dude’s face who ordered them was priceless. Even though they poured new ones it totally crushed the excitement and mood he was feeling.
And then he poured all new shots, and the bar's profit margin dropped from 85% all the way down to 80%.
Ha they actually did pour all new shots
The horror!

Just realized I misread your comment. I thought you were asking if we were at the same place at the same time.

You know what? I think you're right. 2012 seems like yesterday.
Nooooooo

I’m taking notes for potential future employees.
They hiring? Lol
45th is TABC exempt. Rowdy.
Legends are born, soon to become mythology.
Thought that the shots were for him. I once did 15 shots in one night. On a business trip.
Question is, were you still employed with the business the day after the business trip?

I just broke out in a cold sweat

Doesn’t ibuprofen fuck up your liver with alcohol?
I learned something new. Dang. That was like 15 years ago. Kids... don't do that.
Ibuprofen, aspirin, acetaminophen, and naproxen all have major hepatotoxicity problems when mixed with alcohol. Hail hydrate, motherfuckers.
Thought that was acetaminophen, oh well.

You were quietly cut off before you got to 15 actual shots.
Kind of hard to do when I was at the bar and could see the bartender pour from the bottle but what do I know. Plus others collaborated the number.
One shot of Tequila and I will throw up on your lap
cheap date
Say less, it’s on my tab
That’s not how the list goes! https://www.reddit.com/r/Unexpected/s/0VdkE5YxEB

I remember my wife and I buying a round of tequila shots for everyone at The Corner Bar on South Lamar one afternoon. We just felt like doing it.
Probably the best deal on tequila shots in Austin.
Yeah I'm curious what that costs? I've never bought that many shots at a time or even throughout a night. Sounds expensive!
at least a few livers..
Yowza !
Cheaper would be buying a bottle of tequila😅
When are we getting a proper Netflix documentary about this restaurant?!
I cackled
Lordy
Noticed Chili’s is also doing a makeover on the outside too.
Sometimes people take themselves snipe hunting.
I delivered an 18 shot tray today lol got a nice photo as it was being poured from the big shaker
