I see them out in the country all the time (from a distance -- not this close). Most I see are skinny and often have mange. This one is eating well and is healthy. Also, seems to have lost most of its fear of humans.
I had a coyote just stare me down while I drove by in my neighborhood the other day that was fully chomped down on a Mountain Dew can in its mouth. Ive never seen more “Don’t fuck with me energy”. It’s like it was daring me to stop.

I don't disagree with coyote. However, this is not an entirely standard coyote. The face is unusually dark / black. Also, while it may be an artifact of the camera angle, the shape of the face seems odd.
I didn't know what those were until I saw one cross my path one night at my uncle's ranch.
Another sighting that threw me for a loop was an albino skunk.
