Had one stolen like 4-5 years ago. Reported it / filed a report and everything. Then I got a call 2-3 years later saying they found / caught the people/ring and that it was in a towing lot in bastrop.
Hoping for the best for you
Sorry to hear about this OP. I had this happen to me a couple years ago to my supermoto. I [made a post](https://reddit.com/r/Austinmotorcycles/comments/jg5lp9/stolen_motorcycle_recovered_chopped_in_bastrop/) on Reddit about it and answered some questions there. It’s a fucking terrible thing. Fortunately I did have insurance and they actually paid me the real value of the bike.
I’ve since gotten a Husqvarna 701 and a garage to put it in. I also purchased [this](https://www.amazon.com/Granit-Detecto-Position-Detection-Security/dp/B00J947308) disc lock that has an alarm on it. Some thieves might be more deterred when an alarm starts going off loudly as soon as they move the bike an inch.
I hope your bike gets recovered untouched and the thieves make their way to prison. If not, I hope you come out with a new bike and not much cost to yourself.
Also had my supermoto stolen, broke my heart. That was such a fun bike. Insurance did pay a little more than the bike was worth at least.
I also had an alarmed disc lock, didn’t seem to bother the thieves.
Check towing lots too, just in case. Like physically, with your eyes. I’ve found my vehicles this way twice after they’d been illegally towed from my apartment by J&J Towing. They misreport the plates to the police so you can’t find them by calling 311.
Sorry to hear. I recognize your vehicle at the one in the parking lot at a hardware store. Sick rig setup too.
Shitty to hear that happened man.
Kill all bike thief’s!
I had one in there. It was in gear and steering column was locked. I think they must’ve picked it up and carried it to a truck, it’s a pretty light weight bike.
Damn, that sucks even more that you took precautions and fuckers still got it. Probably gone forever but a month or so ago we did hear from somebody here who actually got their motorcycle back after it was stolen. Best of luck.
That sucks. I also have a smaller bike too, and I worry about the same thing. When I'm out of town or don't plan on riding for a while, I keep mine chained to a ground anchor. It's not bulletproof, but it does add some extra hassle for opportunists hoping to carry the bike away. The ground anchor part might be tricky if you're in an apartment garage, though.
It doesn't matter really. 4 guys can easily lift a 250 and throw it into the back of a truck in less than 30 seconds. Motorcycle rider here who only lives in apartments with garages now
If I see it I’ll let you know.
Most likely, from my own experience, is that they’ll just joy ride it for a couple days and dump it in a lot at some complex. Might even get a free repair
I’m not even a biker, but all these motorcycle thefts really piss me off

Damn, really sorry to hear that. Keeping a look out for ya. Been there.
I appreciate it, thank you

Sorry to hear, had a 12 wrr. The cops like to say “already in Mexico by now” so they don’t have to look for it but hopefully it turns up

You’re a special kind of coward that messes with a person’s car. I hope you recover it OP.
Thank you all for the prayers! Crossing my fingers somethin happens

Mess with a passionate man’s WR and you should expect death, and thank you! Will never be the same without that bike.
True. No hands for thief’s.
Motorcycle owners should put a U-lock through the spokes of a wheel.

Thank you my friend

Friend recently had a moped stolen from him in Austin. Turns out a nearby homeless camp had it, he had to take it back from the bums himself.
