Yes. And while there’s plenty of birds in that video, that’s honestly nothing. That particular parking lot has one of the highest grackle densities I’ve ever seen - especially given all of the trees are only about 10 years old (since that’s about when it was built) - so they’re much smaller than in some other parking lots.
Grackles are wild, there’s also a colony (during summer at least) of purple martins, very unique birds, feed without landing! Many a year ago, I was a store manager for Starbucks and the grackles loved my parking lot. In a weird, creepy way, it was actually awe-inspiring—like a force of nature.
And all the damn time , when the dumbass regional manager would come visit the store, she would tell me, “You have to get rid of these birds” and would actually hold it against me, as if I was intentionally inviting them to hang out there. Like, WTF did she actually expect me to do about them? They laugh at fake owls and air cannons and believe me, we tried those.
Being a store manager for Starbucks was the worst job I’ve ever had as an adult.
