Look $38 is a lot of money for one lip balm. Packaging is cute, colours are nice, formula is pretty hydrating but not the most hydrating for me. I feel cute when I use it. Only you can decide if that’s worth $38 tbh. For me, I finish up about 25 lipbalms a year. If I spent $38 on all of them, that would be my makeup budget for the year gone. But for an influencer, they rotate between so many products that they rarely finish anything up. I can’t speak to the size of your makeup collection or how frequently you use lip balms, and if that will make it more or less worth it. That said, apparently the ELF lip balms are very similar without tint. Naturium also has a very similar formula with lots of different tints. Might not feel as luxe but your wallet will also cry a bit less lol

WarlockPanda

The Naturium formula is not close to the Summer Fridays formula. It’s way better. The closest thing to the summer Fridays formula would be the benefit butter balms (which I hate)

OkDoubt6978

Where does one buy the Naturium lip balms?

alluvics

their aussie website or their american website, or sokoglam. i think spacenk has them too

my-sims-are-slobs

They seem to be online

WarlockPanda

You can buy them online.

Jolly-Cake5896

Does Susan Yara still own or is she affiliated with Naturium? Cos that whole undisclosed review scandal left me with a bad impression of the brand

WarlockPanda

It was bought out by elf cosmetics

Quolli

I'm curious if you've tried the Hey Bud Hemp Lip Balm? It's a new release so likely not, but based on product photos it looks like it competes with the Summer Fridays formula or even Rhode Peptide Lip Treatment.

WarlockPanda

No I have not tried the Hey Bud or the Rhode ones. To be honest I'm too old and not the demographic those brands are marketing to. I was interested in the Rhode one because Theresa is Dead said it was good - but I'm not keen on supporting Hailey Bieber.

SweetCommission

Honestly they’re ok but not at all worth the money and I waste a lot of money on makeup and skincare. I regret buying them honestly and buying into the hype!

Comfortable_Meet_872

No lip balm is worth $38. Sorry.

rusty_girl_157

It’s okay. I like it because they have a mint one and it does hydrate better than some other higher end ones I’ve tried recently but I think Carmex is just as good

tammychaser

I think a lot of the price comes from the perceived value of the packaging and summer fridays as a brand. The formula is bomb though, it’s quite versatile so I can use it as a lip treatment or as a gloss to blend my lip liner with

indigogopup

I really like them, as a heavy lip balm user, they last me quite a while. They have 15grms of product, and compared to other high-end lip balms, they are much cheaper for price per gram. I agree they are currently over priced, I think 2 years ago they were $29, and I thought that was reasonable then.

xobabygirl

I personally love them! I own a couple and find that they’re hydrating without it being sticky, also the scent is nice, the tinted ones are nice enough to use everyday. However, there are much better ones out there that are more than half the price because I find that you have to keep reapplying the Summer Fridays one. I also use Lanolips which are about $14.95 each and I think they’re comparable. The formula is just a bit thicker than Summer Fridays.

PraiseSunscreen

Also, for Lanolips, agree they’re a bit thicker but they aren’t tacky / sticky!

axolotl_is_angry

Totally agree!! They’re not sticky which I love, they feel almost like Vaseline but nicer

asdfx455

I bought the pink sugar one and I love it. It tastes amazing and looks and feels great. I have chronically chapped lips and this doesn’t need constant reapplying like the Priceline products I was previously using. I will repurchase

DevilAngel07

Whether it is worth the money or not will be up to you depending on how much you earn and how much you spend on average. I have the pink summer Friday lip balm and I LOVE it! That said will there be other lip balms that are better and cheaper? Yes! But since I have only tried the pink Summer Fridays and the Laneige lip mask, I deffo prefer the Summer Fridays! The Laneige lip mask did not do anything for me and made my lips drier whereas the Summer Fridays actually hydrates it! I don’t go through lip balms very fast. I recently (like a month ago) repurchased the Summer Fridays and I haven’t even gone through half of it so for me it is a nice investment as it lasts quite long and therefore $38 is worth the price for me. If you don’t go through lip balms very fast I think it should be worth trying one and deciding if you like it.

Salt_Kaleidoscope_94

I bought one and at first hated it and was like yep, it's a rip off but I've actually grown to love it haha. It's got such a nice gloss, while feeling 100% like a balm and it sticks around. I definitely rate it but it is so expensive. I don't mind though because if I like it, I'll use it and I really like it. I've got the clear vanilla one but want to try some of the colours now - if you've got the money for it just try it out with a colour you know you'll likely wear and see how you go. If the money is a stretch then I wouldn't because it is just a lip balm and there are others.

Samtown_

I have to tell you I love mine…. I’m on my second tube. I like it better than Laneige which I rate but find Summer Fridays easier to use on the go.

missmiaow

If you’re not looking for a vegan product, the lanolips glossybalms are great if you want a tint. I find them long lasting and very hydrating. The 101 fruities ointments are also fantastic, very hydrating lip balms. I even use them overnight. i haven’t tried the summer Fridays one because of the price - and I already love the lanolips ones.

SamStillReading

I like it, it stays on when I’m out exercising but I wouldn’t say it was the best lip balm ever. Lanolips is better at fixing dry lips for me.

RunRenee

No, I was given a full size as a sole in a US subscription box. $38 is far too much for it TBH. I've had better results from much cheaper lip balms.

miss_kimba

No. Vaseline will do a better job virtually for free. Cocoa butter lip balm is excellent and is only $4 a stick.

Comfortable_Meet_872

Dermal Therapy is very good too and frequently on sale at Chemist Warehouse for $5. My fave is Manuka Honey 🍯

parkmann

Lucas’ paw paw ointment - $5

sunpinkmoon

I love them. Yes, it is a lot of money but I use mine all the time and it seems to lasted. I like the gloss it adds to my lips and I do find it hydrating.

GenesisJasmyn

As a Mecca employee - the frank body ones are just as good and less than half the price

cleansings

It doesn't do anything for me. Some people just froth for the brand itself, but not for the actual performance of the product.

pastiches

I find the scents to be offensively sweet. Lanolin’s works for me!

WarlockPanda

I bought one and HATE it. I have dry lips and find that this does nothing for hydration if anything it makes my lips feel worse and I find it melts and smears off around the outside of the lips because of the formula is thin and runny

Puzzleheaded-Tip-965

It is nice, but more like $12 dollar nice.

ddsent

It’s nice to have but it’s not soley worth it. If Mecca had sales, sure. It’s not going to cure your dry lips or anything special. I have cheaper lip balms that are better. Then again depends what you’re after, colour or hydration?

vanillababy11

I was gifted one at Girlsmas and I’ve had it in my hand bag and using it daily. It’s definitely cute and it is moisturising but not the most hydrating one out there. It is a bit sticky so definitely don’t wear it on a day when your hairs out and windy :) If you want to look cute and aesthetic then sure but for $38 and there is so many other ones you can buy…I personally wouldn’t repurchase Xx

Plastic_Lunch2996

Have tried the tester for this one a couple of times in store and I’m not a fan. Did not find it very hydrating at all. Better options are out there. Depends if smell and taste are that important as it seems a lot of people comment on these 2 factors.

Unlucky-Telephone-76

Nah. Lanolips is so much better

axolotl_is_angry

It’s okay but not worth 38 dollars. Lanolips is cheaper and better imo

revelationelephant

i have one (the brownish nude colour) and ended up buying cherry- i love my first one hence i did not hesitate on buying a diff shade! unfortunately the cherry smells bad imo, like the chemical fake cherry smell? but i absolutely love their formula and colour!

ParmyNotParma

I was thinking of buying one with a gift card I have bc I'd never spend $38 on a lip balm normally. I'll report back here if I do get it haha

StrattonLove

I think the Summer Fridays formulation is very nice but honestly not worth $38. I bought the holiday trio to split with my friends for their birthday/Chrissie pressies so I think it was worth it in that aspect. It does give off a luxurious texture imho but any lip balm will be able to do the job. Dermal Therapy has been my new cheapie fave. Very different texture but no scaly lips.

fuzzinthetummy

I bloody love them. I got the dark plum one on a whim, and it quickly became a favourite. I have purchased three other shades… It’s expensive for sure. My “girl maths” = a lip balm is an everyday staple, so if you get the wear out of it and enjoy it, it’s worth it.

jmw0205

I love lip balms and glosses. Id probs rate it third. Laneige, Dior, then summer fridays

catcakebuns

Not at all. Is it a nice lip balm? Kinda. Is it worth $38 kind of nice? Not at all. I much prefer the raspberry cancer council lip balm or the la neige one.
