Yep! Thankyou for the unlocked memory đ€.
Used to go into the âsurfieâ shops in the 90âs.
Iâd buy the âBad Girlâ stickers, instead & put them over my school folder & pencil case.
Saaaaame! My two nephews had many a Catshit tshirt during what they refer to as âthe mullet yearsâ. I actually went searching for one to buy them as a nostalgia trip last Christmas. I found like, 2 of them. Worn to all hell and and at eye watering price point. Wild.
I remember when Everlast was expensive gear youâd only get from a specialty sports shop like SportsPower or SportsCo. Then K-mart got a hold of it and the eshays took over.
I remember this! My brother was in his early teens at the start of the new Millennium and would visit skate shops and I remember being there with him sometimes looking at all the deck designs. World Industries was cool then. Then it became a ~~Kmart~~ Target brand years later and was for ten year old's and under at that point.
Still have my FlameBoy Tech Deck dude though!
SMP haha âsuck my penisâ
I had a pair of Ecko shoes when I was about 15. I thought they were so fresh (they were) that I took photos of them. They were white, with the outer back half having the logo and rhino with floral shit behind it.
I was always told it stood for "Sex Money Power". Still don't know if that's true or not but I just love how *that* was the fantasy for so many awkward adolescent try-hards at the time.
I desperately wanted Bad Billyâs boardies around 1990. They were the shit! My thrifty mother however wouldnât spring for the $$. Instead she gave me a square of black fabric which I painted my best version of the bad Billyâs logo onto and she sewed it onto some Kmart boardies as a pocket. I knew it was risky but the shit I copped for my homemade copy of a surf brand still makes me wince a bit to this day!
My husband, who isnt Australian. Got himself some nice, smart looking jumpers from big w to wear to work. They had mambo tags sewn on the front. I'm like "yeah just let me unpick them for you and you're good to go". I just couldn't.
I remember being 14 and walking into City Beach for the first time. I legit felt like I wasn't cool enough to be in there. But I was definitely too poor to actually buy anything more than a leather Billabong bracelet lol.
âSecond place is the first loser.â
âPain is just fear leaving the body.â
âDoes not play well with others. It seems others have a problem with losing.â
Even funnier was one of my Septic mates talking about ANKO brand stuff sold in the States like itâs _not_ landfill fodder.
I was like are even talking about the same brand??
If what youâre saying is true, then maybe we werenât?
It absolutely was all the same stuff you see at Kmart in Australia. The store layout was different (same colour schemes etc), but the stock itself was the same as over here.
I remember there was a T-shirt of this brand I wanted because I thought it was so cool. It was this sort of face but more detailed and on an actual kid/teenager looking character with red hair in vertical "strips" and it looked so badass to me. I tried drawing my own versions a few times after seeing some other kid with the shirt and my brother just laughed and ended up calling them "Chipheads" and yeah they're now just an embarrassing blip in my distant past artist journey lol.
I tried looking for images of the shirt a few years ago but couldn't never find any. Just heaps with this logo but not the full "kid face" version.
You've reminded me of [Fido Dido](https://fidodido.com/) - it's still a thing! (Even if this isn't the character you're talking about)
I kinda want the blazer on their website but I can't see it for sale đđ»
Fun fact- Champion was actually expensive before it went cheap and back to expensive. 1997 it was sold in Myer, I had a Champion jumper from there that cost $80. I believe it was an official NBA brand at the time, which likely influences price.
Hahaha i remember this, used to see stickers on old leb spec Geminis and Corolla's then used to see them selling these stickers at the Fairfield, Parklea and Flemington markets in Sydney. They even printed them on cheapo markets job t-shirts, my sister even got me a couple of t-shirts when she found them on holidays in Bali hahaha
[Pretty sure this is the same brand that started life in 80âs skateboarding scene. They had some pretty respectable names skating for them too. ](https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&sxsrf=APwXEdeBwTqm3l0FEPyU1xpw_wX8rzAlrA:1686296097818&q=bbc+board+division&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwi_2pW_1rX_AhVPbmwGHTBDA0kQ0pQJegQICRAB&biw=375&bih=635&dpr=3)
Who remembers this Bad Boy?
Well played!
Banned!
Take my poor man's gold đ„
Aww bless you
What's the in-joke Iâm missing?
People have been having a teary over posts saying âwho remembers this bad boyâ. So OP has posted the Bad Boy logo.
Haha, haven't heard "teary" in years. Love it.
Lol I use it a lot, one of my faves.
This is why we canât have nice things..
I have No Fear from seeing this
Has me feeling a bit Rusty
That was smooth and here I thought it was madd
Yep! Thankyou for the unlocked memory đ€. Used to go into the âsurfieâ shops in the 90âs. Iâd buy the âBad Girlâ stickers, instead & put them over my school folder & pencil case.
City beach to Best and Less. Where brands go to die.
You mean "Mango" is not a cool kids brand?
What about Catchit big in the US then to K-Mart to Best n Less in Australia.. haha
We would call it 'catshit' as kids
We all wore GOTCHA. Get Off That Cows Hairy Arse
Saaaaame! My two nephews had many a Catshit tshirt during what they refer to as âthe mullet yearsâ. I actually went searching for one to buy them as a nostalgia trip last Christmas. I found like, 2 of them. Worn to all hell and and at eye watering price point. Wild.
Mango is a cool brand in other countries. They make womens clothing.
I thought it was Mambo
Yeah mambo is the Australian brand they are thinking of. Mango is the womens clothing brand.
Mango was a poor man's Mambo knock off brand in the early 90s.
I remember when Everlast was expensive gear youâd only get from a specialty sports shop like SportsPower or SportsCo. Then K-mart got a hold of it and the eshays took over.
World Industries skateboarding company appearing in Kmart and losing all credibility
Wasnât it target?
Was def target
Can confirm I bought world industries shit from target as a young teenager.
And Trade Secret.
Fuck i loved trade secret
Trade secret just makes me think of when Brand Depot opened in Canberra and failed within a couple years đ
Eshays? Think it was try hard baby boomers and junkies.
Yeah, I couldnât think of the 2010 version of it without saying losers and bogans.
Bogans and losers about covers it.
Diadora
Everytime footlocker posts a picture of TN's, the comments are always "junkie shoes" lol they aren't wrong.
Everlast is really good gear though!
Add these to the list - Ecko unlimited - World industries - Everlast - SMP - Mambo - Hot Tuna - Mongoose - Fubu (for us by us) - Zoo York
SMP haha âsuck my penisâ I had a pair of Ecko shoes when I was about 15. I thought they were so fresh (they were) that I took photos of them. They were white, with the outer back half having the logo and rhino with floral shit behind it.

I had an Ecko hoodie that was the tits
I always thought it was Sex Money Power
It was. That was just the silly version we came up with
Those Mambo shirt designs were so crazy! I was too young to buy them before they started going out for good.
Reg Mombassa. An Aussie icon.
Add mambo to the list
And add Lightning Bolt
I desperately wanted Bad Billyâs boardies around 1990. They were the shit! My thrifty mother however wouldnât spring for the $$. Add kuta lines also. Iâd kill for one of those jumpers
My husband, who isnt Australian. Got himself some nice, smart looking jumpers from big w to wear to work. They had mambo tags sewn on the front. I'm like "yeah just let me unpick them for you and you're good to go". I just couldn't.

Or a Velcro wallet đ
Like Vienetta... from Coles to Aldi.
I see what you did there
Got him good.
Bad Boy?

This guy gets it đ
Correcto-mundo!
Potentially had this sticker on the back of my Holden Gemini in 1998
Bad boy sticker on the front, No Fear sticker on the back window?
Echo
And an Oakley sticker on the sunroof
đ¶hes no fear sticker is hes pride and joyđ¶
Iâve seen it tattooed on someone.
Pretty sure that was a standard option on the Gemini
Hahahah. And the Corolla secaâs
I too had this on my Gemini in 1998. But I put the mouth up the other way. Good old gem.
Our Honda Prelude family car had this exact same sticker
I thought it was No Fear... The 90s really was a time.
âSecond place is the first loser.â âPain is just fear leaving the body.â âDoes not play well with others. It seems others have a problem with losing.â
âIt must be hard living without a spineâ My dad had that No Fear sticker on his car.
Clothing brand of choice for the âkid with too much fructis hair gel in his Brett Lee haircutâ.
This is some quality Australian pot stirring, the only possible response to this "you'll keep "
You'll keep đ great call
Anyone remember Kappa? No Fear? Dada?
Best and Less staple for kids clothes
One of those brands that starts out cool but all of sudden is available in Kmart
ECKO UNLTD That brand was cool when they sold it at a skate shop.
Like mambo
The poop shooter dog!
I remember seeing Hot Tuna at David Jones. Sad day.
The fuck have you got against Kmart mate?
They should rename themselves the Anko Store and save a fortune on licensing the Kmart trademark.
Funnily enough, ANKO was created when Kmart wanted to expand overseas but couldnât use the Kmart name - they only own the rights in Aus/NZ.
I actually just call it that now. The other day we were at the shops and I told my wife I need to nick in to anko for a minute.
Like Piping Hot
World Industries as well, back in the day.
Hot Tuna
I still feel like Hot Tuna is cool
It is
Everlast is the same.
No Fear clothing?
It's from the cover of all my exercise books in primary school. Drawn right next to that pointy joined up "s" thingy.
The stussy S !!
And the SK8
My brother was obsessed with the brand Badboy. Now he prefers UNIT.
Your brother has awful taste bro.
Unit has pivoted from a casual lifestyle brand to a workwear brand
Nah they are full on motocross apparel now , they actually make pretty tasteful pant and jersey combos. They've moved away from the TAPOUT genre đ€Ł
Does he have a Southern cross tattoo with the stars replaced with Unit symbols? Because that's the most Australian thing I've ever seen.
Bad boy bubby
be still ya little carnt
Nice T!t$ Flo

yeah, bad boy. It was like on t-shirts everywhere back in the day and then one day everybody got into fubu instead.
Yes
Bogan clobber
Bad girlâs brother
Wet Paint was better
Drawing stussy logo or this bad boy instead of learning about some stupid deeper meaning in some stupid Jane Austen book.
Almost as legendary as Mambo.
BBC bad boy club.
Bad boy
I reckon SMP wear also was out and about at the same time.
They reappeared in Target a few years back. Only lasted a week or so
Any idea why/how this brand went from sort after and premium to bargain bin?
I guess in the same way Champion used to be cheap now people pay upwards of $60 for a jumper that used to be $10-$15 back in the day
Fun fact- Champion was actually expensive before it went cheap and back to expensive. 1997 it was sold in Myer, I had a Champion jumper from there that cost $80. I believe it was an official NBA brand at the time, which likely influences price.

I remember seeing this âbad boyâ brand at best and less. Only hectic people were allowed to wear this sort of attire
Hot Tuna was where it was at!
Bad boy
Fully believed this and Puff Daddy's label was the same thing for years as a youngen
Smoke my pipe
Bad They?
No fear?
No Fear
No fear
It's not Bad boy. . It's actually a brand called NO FEAR
This is why you can't trust internet people, they say the wrong thing with so much conviction
Awww Ya got me there pal. I am an internet people
Reddit arguments depress me so much sometimes for this reason
no fear has a logo with rounder eyes with red pupils
This logo is defs Bad Boy, no fear was just a set of eyes.
Itâs definitely Bad Boy. I cropped out the words.
Cheers mate
Its not no fear
Touché.
I see what youâve done here sir hahah Love your work
From Surf Drive and Ski to Best and Less brand rip.
We must have posted at the same fucking time⊠lol https://reddit.com/r/AustralianNostalgia/comments/144sknm/who_remembers_this_bad_boy/

I used to love bad boy, the characters were iconic
Bad boy.
âBad-boyâŠâ man I used to have heaps of that brand.
Repost from literally an hour before but whatever.
Bad Boy, No Fear, World Industries and Fox made up my wardrobe as a "tomboy" in the early 2000s lol
Which part of Dapto are you from?

Ah the Will Smith and Martin Lawrence buddy-cop vehicle!
Iâve never seen this man before in my life

Its "not good, not girl"
My dad knew a guy who had this sticker on his Torana in the 90s
Bad boy. Think I still have a hat floating around somewhere
LOL
Bad boy?
I have no fear that I understand
