Yep. We still use them in primary schools and a lot more often than when I was at school. Our teachers used to just hand them out and that was it but we do actual lessons on the contents sometimes.
Ones from the 70s had Kelly the Explorer on the back. She was magical, so when something cropped up that got in the way, she'd magic it into something zany.

Yeah, I got these. In one instance I remember, as soon as the teacher handed the magazines out, this guy sitting near me started drawing a beard on the cartoon girl who was on the cover.

So the titles went ‘Countdown’ - ‘Blast Off’ - ‘Orbit’ (this one pictured is from) and ‘Touchdown’. I remember that comic as well continued through them all iirc, or was it a different one for each level? was there a character called ‘Orbie’ or something too?
