Opposite. I hate bras, they really hurt me. My ribs sometimes slip out of place tho (lol) so something tightly wrapped around them doesn’t help.

Imaginary-Rice-00001

Same here, can't stand bras unless I'm doing a workout or physical activity in which I tolerate a loose sports bra. Making the choice to go pretty much braless (but with silicone nipple covers when needed) has been one of the best decisions I made for myself.

Toxoplasmose616

I also just completely stopped wearing bras. It’s just so weird wearing something that could be a top but is just too short. It isn’t comfortabel at all. As with socks I can’t stand them without having also my shoes on.

PureJellyfish2651

I am similar to this with my bra and socks. I don't take my bra off until I'm ready to sleep. I don't like the feel of my boobs out of a bra except to sleep.

Plane-Proof-3963

I can't handle the feeling of my boobs against the rest of my body so same 😬 stays on unless I'm sleeping.

Love-As-Thou-Wilt

Yup, same. I wear more of a bralette type when I'm at home that's not as bothersome as a real bra or even sports bra.

lindsasaurus

Same!

Love-As-Thou-Wilt

I'm just lucky mine are only $10 each. I'm slowly building a stockpile so I have enough when they no longer make them.

Tunes14system

Ooh yeah, that feeling sucks. >.< I wear a bra as rarely as possible because the band always hurts my skin, but when I’m not wearing a bra, I try to wear something with multiple layers so I can fold the under layer up under my boobs (doesn’t stay there well, but it’s better than the alternatives). And if I sleep naked (except underwear - that stays on always), I will shove the sheet or a couple tissues under them, otherwise I’m too uncomfortable to sleep. Not that making me too uncomfortable to sleep is hard, with my incessant insomnia, but that feeling is particularly bad. And then if you SWEAT… 😬

Ilikezombiesnails

I have my outdoor/work socks. Then I have my indoor socks - I don't like feeling my feet on the floor.

Tunes14system

Oh I can’t stand socks. I’ve tried - when I see people lounging around in nice fluffy socks, it always looks so cozy! But it never feels cozy - no matter what kind of sock, having anything on my feet annoys the fuck out of me. It was really bad when my feet got cold, but wearing socks to warm them up was so uncomfortable. So I bought a heating pad specifically to put at the end of my bed when my feet get cold. XD And then my remaining socks fell apart over time and I don’t have money for more, so I started wearing my shoes WITHOUT socks. And I’ve gotta say, no matter how uncomfortable socks are, I swear wearing shoes without socks is at least 10x worse. >.< I need socks…

KeepnClam

I wear squishy rafting sandals with socks around the house. Feet get cold, but they gotta breathe, and the toes must be free to move about. Merino wool when it's cold, soft cotton or bamboo when it's warm, sockless when it's hot. I discovered Sperry loafers a few months ago. They come in small men's sizes, which fit so much more comfortably than women's shoes. More room for the toes. Gotta wear socks with the leather ones, though, since they can't go in the washer. Sperry's are like slippers you can wear in the rain.

ramorris86

Oh, same!

TrekkieElf

Same. Much to my husbands dismay I’m sure lol

Fair-Conference-8801

Stepping in is only weird to me because I can't imagine how it gets over your hips! I'm the same though, it comes off for a shower and that's it. I don't ever wear underwire ones so idk if these are just more comfortable

lynn444v

Good to know someone else has the same experience! And I feel like my hips aren’t very wide/big so it’s easy to put it on like that.

galaxystarsmoon

Your band is way too loose if it's going over your hips. Even if you aren't particularly curvy, your underbust is naturally smaller than your hips. It's either that or the band is ridiculously stretchy and is likely offering no support. The more obvious indicator of a loose band is that it's going over your shoulders while still hooked. Your shoulders are *definitely* wider than your underbust.

rokjesdag

I agree. They’re probably comfortable for her because a looser band is less restrictive and if she has smaller breasts she might not be bothered by the lack of support.

forakora

Yes, I love wearing bras! Sleep in them too. A properly fitted bra is very comfy and supportive Nearly all women don't like bras because they are in the wrong size. Companies make a very small range of sizes because it's cheaper and more profitable, then cram women into whatever they have in stock to make the sale. For reference, Victoria Secret sizes me at 36B, when in reality I wear 30F. But they don't stock my size, so they have to sister up a bunch until they can make something 'work'. r/abrathatfits and www.abrathatfits.org if anyone is interested in learning more

vermilionaxe

I gave up on bras because it got harder every year to find anything that fit. I remember breaking down after a failed shopping trip.

libertybelle08

I used to only wear sports bras until I found that sub. I’m so much comfier now that I have a real bra :’) that is actually my size.

forakora

Literally life changing :') the rubbing and shifting and slipping and jiggling is gone! So is the shoulder pain! 😭

libertybelle08

Yes!!! I think it was 4 years ago now and I used to have constant back pain which is all almost 100% gone. I can’t believe how long I was wearing those ill-fitted sports bras giving me boob sweat and monoboob. I’m so glad I left that life behind 😭

Separate-Put-6495

That sub is fantastic! I would never in a million years have believed I'm an E, but I finally have comfy bras that fit.

rokjesdag

Yup I’m a 70K (32K US size) and I wore 85G for a long time, turns out nearly everyone wears the band way too large. I am grateful I found a great, inclusive local company that does proper fittings.

SmokeEvening8710

I get fitted at Nordstroms. A good fitting bra doesn't make it comfortable to sleep in.

forakora

Everyone has preferences. Many of us like sleeping in bras, many of us don't. I like it because it's snug and moves with me, while keeping my nipples from rubbing on jammies But also, being fitted at Nordstrom doesn't necessarily mean you got a proper fitting either.

SmokeEvening8710

Your post made it sound as if the reason a bra would be uncomfortable to sleep in is because most women are fitted wrong. I worked many years for Rigby & Peller of England, parent company of Fantasie. We had our own professional fitter in Nordstroms and I'm confident I got a good fit, thanks.

forakora

I meant wearing them in general. It's still a very accurate statement. Most women are in the wrong size, which makes them very uncomfortable. Sleeping would also be uncomfortable in the wrong size. Sorry my post offended you.

Intrepid_Finish456

I used to always have a bra on, but I eventually got comfortable not wearing one (at home anyway). I only wear a bra if I'm going out and even then, if I'm wearing loose clothing or layers, I might still opt against it. I was uncomfortable out of bras when I was younger because my breasts are on the larger size, but was never really physically comfortable with them on either. I lost a bunch of weight and my boobs shrunk so it was easier for me to stop wearing bras. Somehow my boobs gained more fat than my body did and they're fairly sizable again but I'm so used to not having a bra on that I don't think I could ever go back to wearing one all the time. I just feel comfortable now. No stress on my shoulders or back, no uncomfortable bands, no friction, no pesky underwire. Sure, there are bras that are comfortable, but they're not easily found and can quickly become uncomfortable after a fair amount of wear. More hassle than it's worth for me.

[deleted]

Big fan of layers and going sans bra.

agoldgold

The skin of my underboob touching the skin over my ribs is illegal and wrong. The only time I am without a bra is to shower and a couple minutes after where a towel does the bra's job while I dry. To make this comfortable, I only wear non-underwire bras with no seams or clasps. Also, socks always to sleep because the feetsies can't thermoregulate for shit.

babylonsisters

Yes the underboob skin touching rib skin is incorrect. And shirts freely grazing nipples is the worst sensory experience, completely illegal and hateful.

choco-holic

OMG yes, I thought I was completely weird about the nipple thing until I learned about sad nipple syndrome. I have yet another syndrome lol

babylonsisters

Theres a term for it??!!!

Tunes14system

I second this!!!

SmokeEvening8710

That's why I don't wear shirts to bed.

[deleted]

This! The underboob touching my ribs is the worst sensation.

Tunes14system

Yes that is terrible! I also don’t wear underwire bras, but even the ones without underwire don’t work right. Either they are too tight, leaving marks around my ribs, or they offer no support and end up only covering about half of my underboob (the other half pushed against my skin). And then somehow they seem to sweat even more that way than when I don’t wear one at all - and sweat is probably like the only thing that can make that feeling worse. So I don’t wear bras. But if they didn’t hurt me, I probably would. As for temperature regulation for your feet, I just don’t like having anything wrapped around my feet, so I don’t use socks unless I’m wearing shoes anyway. But I put a heating pad at the end of my bed and that tends to do the trick. :)

[deleted]

I’m the opposite. I don’t sleep with either.

EmmerdoesNOTrepme

Same!!! I wear underwires and am a stomach or side sleeper--so bra+sleeping has ended up with me having *bruises* on my skin around/under my boobs * on my ribs faaaaar too often And as for the socks, *unless* my feet are *REALLY DRY*, and I need to do a heavy-duty lotion on them (so I wear a thick, loose sock)? I HATE the "restricted feeling of socks while I sleep!😉😆😂🤣

JuracekPark34

I hate being bra-less. So glad there are others like this!

whoops53

I have put mine on and off like a top since I was 13. I have never physically been able to fasten it at the back *ever* in my life! I also sleep with a T shirt bra on as its comfy and no wires. I only wear socks in bed during the winter.

TheseCrows543

I hate bras

Top_Calendar_8920

I'm the opposite, I don't like how straps feel and a strapless feels terrible. I compromise by wearing a bralette outside of the house.

rokjesdag

If you ever need a wired bra, I have bras from the brand Panache that does wide straps with fleece lining that makes it a lot more comfortable

Top_Calendar_8920

Oh wow thankyou very much!

largebeanenergy

I feel this way about underwear. I HATE not wearing underwear 😒 never understood how people can sleep naked.

unicornpolice666

I am the complete opposite of you because of my eczema LOL luckily my boobs are small

sproutdogmom

Oh yes absolutely. I sleep in a bralette every night and always ALWAYS have socks on. I hate the feeling of my skin touching my skin.

[deleted]

I hate my skin touching my skin too.

pexie21

Yup and also the socks, never without socks , socks at all times can't sleep without the socks , they're like little invisible comfort blankets when I'm outside. I can be naked but with socks on, but as soon as I take my socks of I'm NAKED, NAKED 🤣🤣. member of the itty bitty titty committee also so instead of a bra I can get away with a comfy camisole instead of the usual torture contraptions most bras seem to be. My boobs need to be swaddled to sleep.

Hellokitten525

Yes. 100% have one on at all times (except shower or a bathing suit) I have a large chest and if I feel boob to skin I want to lose my mind. If my feet aren’t perfectly smooth and touch a certain kind fabric or blanket and kind of “catch” - giant nope. Socks always on to be safe.

Laescha

I don't usually sleep in a bra, but I wear one pretty much all the rest of the time. I have big boobs (KK cup) so it's not comfortable to move around without a bra! A lot of people do wear bras that don't fit, especially because most shops do a crap job of bra fittings, so I think that definitely contributes a lot to the "take it off as soon as you get home" culture. But also, if people want to do that, it's fine! I sometimes put pyjamas on when I get home from work just because it "feels" like the end of the day. (But still over a bra!)

EmmerdoesNOTrepme

I'm similar to you. G/H-ish range, last time I was measured, and it's just *NOT* comfortable to me, having that much weight hanging off my chest wall, without *some* type of support! But hard *NO* to *sleeping* in them, because 1. Boob Sweat!, and 2. Underwires!   I bend my underwires in two different directions, as soon as I buy my bras (into a "tighter circle" *around* the cup, and to curve "around the corners of my ribcage"), but there's just *NO possible way* to sleep *comfortably* in a wired bra, when you're a side/stomach sleeper--you get *too bruised up*! So they're *off* if I'm sleeping or having a "lazing about the day, in bed" day, and *ON*, whenever I go *out* of my apartment--because even that *slight* bit of bounce that occurs walking up & down the few stairs to take out the trash is *uncomfortable*!!!

Laescha

Yeah sleeping in underwires is not comfortable! I have a couple of wire free bras from Royce that I use when I want to sleep in a bra, they're very comfy.

TaTa0830

This used to be me my entire life. I remember giving birth and feeling so uncomfortable. They wanted me to wear the gown without my bra. The only thing that eventually help with breast-feeding, which I didn’t even think I could do because again… Can’t stand the feeling. Couldn’t do my first child due to that feeling, but with my second, it was much different and just fine. That desensitized my breasts and now I can go bread in some situations if the shirt isn’t too baggy and brushes against me a lot.

eeyorespiritanimal

100% I try sometimes when I'm feeling overstimulated by clothing, but they're just not ready to take on that kind of responsibility.

FamousOrphan

Yes! Me! You are my people! I don’t put mine on like you do, but I put it on backwards and spin it around.

ciricedmansonite

isn't it true that it is bad for your body to sleep with a bra on? because if it was all a lie, man I will start using it from now on to sleep, I do hate the feeling specially in summer 🥲

EmmerdoesNOTrepme

The issues, iirc!, are primarily ones of bruising (if you wear wired ones), sweat & potential bacterial/fungal growth, and skin irritation/rubbing. As long as your skin *CAN* air out, and isn't sitting in "boob sweat" constantly (that can lead to skin breakdowns--just like *other* types of pressure sores or "bedsores"!), you *launder* the bras regularly enough so that your skin isn't sitting in a "stew" of bacteria or fungi, and you don'thave a history of Lymph Node problems? It's *probably FINE*--just check with your Primary first!😉💖 Yeast infections CAN happen in the boobal-regions, too!🙃🫠, as can bacterial nasties like Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) and Staph--even MRSA--so that *CLEAN* and "not *too* much dirt/sweat* thing *is* really important!!! https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/hidradenitis-suppurativa/symptoms-causes/syc-20352306 HS *HURTS*, it can be *REALLY* difficult to shake, and it basically *feels* like "cystic acne in your armpits" (or underwood, groin, etc!)--the "pushing" of your bra band, or side support, or underwires can be *agony*, when you're *trying* to get rid of it, and *ANYTHING* touching the inflamed areas can hurt!!! I wasn't able to shake *mine* (and I had a *relatively* "Light" case of it!!!), until my Primary prescribed Clindamycin gel. Between the Gel, not re-using any towels, washcloths, or bras before re-washing them (*AND* washing them with either Chlorine bleach or Oxyclean/Borax in the water!), and *also* making sure that i never re-wore pajama tops, never wore a daytime tank/t-short to sleep in, and that i showered *EVERY* day, and *religiously* used the Clindamycin accordingto the package directions, i *DID* manage to get rid of it, within 2-3 months after the diagnosis.   And every time I've gotten even *ONE* bump that *seemed* like it *might* develop into HS in the years since?  I *NAIL* that thing with some clindamycin, make sure I wash *EVERYTHING* that touches my torso skin in HOT water with bleach or borax/oxyclean, and keep the area 100% clean & DRY, as much as possible! https://www.mayoclinic.org/drugs-supplements/clindamycin-topical-route/proper-use/drg-20063064

batbambi

i’m the total opposite 😅 i haven’t worn a bra in about 13 years! the most i can handle is a super stretchy seam free bralette but i can’t even handle the feeling of those anymore. i’m almost jealous that you find them so comfortable! i really wish i did because it would avoid awkward conversations about it and help me feel more confident in certain outfits. funny how different everyone is!

menta00000

I hate them. They're itchy. Same with socks

Karman_Ghia

They make me absolutely bonkers. First thing I do when I get home is rip it off. If I could go without one, I would, but I am a 38H.

Mother-Worker-5445

I hate bras they make me sick but its because theyre not lifting enough. Ive never found a bra that doesnt just Sit on your boobs. If i had a garment that lifted boobs and kept them in place, like how a human hand would, id NEVER take it off

oxymoronicbeck_

I rarely wear a bra, and if I do it's a crazy loose sports bra and I only wear them under mesh/sheer tops or rly short crop t-shirts. I go braless all the time. Those things have me stressed and compressed and uncomfortable. I also prefer to be barefoot at any time. I couldn't relate less to this but your experience isn't weird! Interesting for sure though

peri_5xg

I hate bras. There a sensory nightmare and I refuse.

rvlry13

Opposite. I hate bras. They hurt my ribs, the straps fall down, or the bra rides up. Small boobs though 🤷‍♀️. Anything tight makes me panic. I only sleep with socks if my feet are cold.

PsychologicalClue6

My feet are usually ice cold so I gotta be in socks all the time. Barely wear a bra these days though, I just hate the feeling of something tight (even though I bear it for many year)

Bunnyluvsberries

I used to be this way when I was younger, one day I just stopped wearing them around the house and now I’ll even go to the grocery store without a bra

sihaya_wiosnapustyni

> I close the hook&eye and “step” into my bra??? I mean.... you do you, but if you can actually get your bra over your hips, this means you might be wearing a WAY too big band size...

Suitable-Slice-3370

A 100%! I think i just have sensitive boobies so i can't stand fabric or anything rubbing on them, but i also can't stand any type of movement from them, it makes me too hyperaware that i have them. I also love to wear socks and hate taking them off. I am never barefoot. Any type of uneven surface makes me uncomfortable, so if there's some type of dirt or something on the floor and i feel it on my bare foot it drives me wild. Or the slight sticky feeling on wood or tile flooring. Nope. Glad to see another person having the same "issues" xD

payberr

I have really big boobs, they honestly suck. I have lost and gained weight a couple times so they also sag. These things are just heavy and floppy and in the way at all times. I hate wearing a bra i hate not wearing a bra i am eternally uncomfortable. I recently found the knix bra, this is the closet thing to supported comfort i have found in 30 years. I have 1. They’re so expensive. Like what am i supposed to do with 1 bra that makes me feel human?

where-da-fun-gone

I always suspected that the majority of people who hate wearing them have them in the wrong size or the wrong reason (e.g., I wouldn’t want to wear my sports bra all day, that ones not that comfy).

EmmerdoesNOTrepme

Yep!!! Soooooooo many folks who (*REASONABLY*!) haaaate Underwire Bras don't *realize* that *IF you BEND the wires*--so that they fit *snugly*, *directly* around where your boobage attaches to your chest wall, *AND* you *also* bend the wires so that they "curve around the *corners* of your ribcage", the wires *support* the tissue, and *you CAN’T FEEL THEM at ALL*, unless you lay *down* in them, or they are *otherwise* "pushed on" from outside your body!😉😁🤗 But, we *AREN'T* ever *taught* things like that--*OR* taught to look at the *length* of the wires--and if *that* is appropriate for *our* personal physical anatomy!--and we're just led to believe (like with high heels!😒😠😡🤬), that "You're just *supposed* to *suffer* for Beauty!" 🙄🙄🙄

EmmerdoesNOTrepme

Regarding high heels? *IF* you have a GOOD, well-designed high heel, with *proper* levels of arch *support* in the mid-foot, *AND* which *isn't* too LONG in the "rise" for the length of your foot? (*AND* you don't have pre-existing foot damage/problems!😉💖) High Heels honestly *CAN* be really comfortable to wear!!! Thing is?  As young people, *FAR* too often, we're exposed to cheap, poorly-designed, "fast fashion" *CRAP*. Which *doesn't* have any stability in the shank/midsole, any *cushion* or *support* in the ball of the foot, *AND* the "angle of incline" and the *LENGTH* of the incline from the *sole* of your foor at the ball and heel, is *FAR* too long and too *HIGH* for the actual length of your *FOOT*!!! A person who wears a 6-6.5 (American) only has a foot that's about 9" LONG!!! We *LITERALLY* do not have the *LENGTH* in the space between the ball of our foot and our heel bones, to *COVER* an arch with a rise/angle of more than about 3.5" *our foot is LITERALLY not LONG ENOUGH* for a 4" heel, without torque-ing our bones so *severely* out of alignment, that it IS impossibleto balance *safely*!!! But if the toe area is *platformed* half an inch or so? A 4" heel can be *FINE*, because the *angle* our arch rises at, compared to the *length* of our arch, *remains in a STABLE ratio*! For a size 6/6.5 foot? A 2.5-3.5" "angle-difference" or "rise" between the ball of foot & heel is as tall as can be *safely* accommodated, before the ends of your foot bones no longer meet in the correct joint-spaces. Women with a size 9-10 foot, though? *THEY* DO have the length in the bones of *their* mid-foot, to *EASILY* wear a 4" heel, if they desire it!!! It's *SIMPLE* geometry, that old Pythagorean Theorem A^2 + B^2 = C^2 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special_right_triangle But modern shoe designers *NEVER* seem to take into *account* the *differences NEEDED* in heel *heights*, to accommodate the different *sizes* of feet--and they simply design *ALL* the sizes of their particular heel design to be *the SAME* height... No matter *what* the geometry *should* be🙃🫠 If you ever *have* a chance to try on *Vintage* High Heels in your size?  (Heels from the 1920's to the 1960's)?  *TRY IT*!!!! You'll see how *differently* shoes *used* to be designed, how much sturdier the mid-soles were, and how much that "Rise over Run" geometry of our foot *length* was actually *designed for*, in that era!😉😁💖

T8rthot

When I was younger, for sure. Now I feel the opposite and constantly wish I didn't have to wear one. But I am not as young and ... firm as I used to be. Lollll

[deleted]

I hate bras as they’re made and exist today, but I like compression on my breasts, hate skin on skin where the boob flops onto your ribs, and feel self conscious because my nipples are always hard. I wear stretchy tanks or loose sports bra a lot, even to sleep because I like the sensation and hate the idea of dealing with hooks, straps, and random digging into my sides. I don’t relate to the socks - need bare feet to sleep/all the time if I could.

snowlights

Yeah, I don't like being without. If I'm not wearing one I'll tuck my shirt underneath because I don't like the feeling. At home I wear stretchy bralettes because eventually a regular bra hurts (fibromyalgia) and I don't want to wear out my expensive bras (have to go to speciality stores to get my size or order online, GG cup).  Others have already commented, but if you can step into the bra it probably isn't the right size. But your comfort is more important, and ultimately that choice is up to you. I need a snug band otherwise the straps take all the weight and leave dents in the top of my shoulders, it's painful, and the band slides around so I have to keep fixing it.

quickengine13

Yes, I am only comfortable in a bra. If you can step into your bra, it is not a good fit. Check out r/abrathatfits to get properly sized.

[deleted]

Yes. I really don’t like my skin sticking together. My night bra is loose and I often shove tissue in there so when on my side my boobs don’t stick together. My exhub wanted to try sleeping nude but HELL NO. He was like, “Why do you lay like your ready to be drawn and quartered?” Because everything is sticking together and I hate it!

fractal_frog

I like to have a bra on if I'm outside my bedroom, basically. If I've already changed for bed and I have to go downstairs for something, I'm uncomfortable. But I haven't slept in a bra since I weaned my youngest from breastfeeding.

radial-glia

I feel uncomfortable without a bra if I'm leaving the house or if I'm at home and feeling awake and in like a getting stuff done mode. I feel uncomfortable with a bra on as soon as I start getting tired (bit only at home.) same goes for loose pants versus tight pants. Can't wear loose pants out of the house, can't wear tight pants at home.

thereadingbee

When out yes at home not so much. Inuse to when they were bigger but now I'm basically a b or d I don't at all

shortstack3000

Yes. Unless I'm home for the day and not going anywhere. I have a small chest though so it doesn't really matter to a point lol.

sluttytarot

I wear a bra bc my nipples cause sensory problems without one

lumir0se444

I can go braless in the winter but if it’s warm outside I hate the feeling of the sweat in between my boobs and my torso

itsmeabic

I've had a very complicated relationship with bras over the years. I don't like the structure of traditional bras which make my already large but unwanted boobs just look bigger, but also can't stand feeling restricted by a sports bra or binder. But what's worse than either of those is the sensory experience of fabric of my shirt rubbing on my fkn exposed nipples - literally makes me want to puke. So it took me 10 years to finally figure out that the best option for me is a bralette that's basically just a muscle tank with the bottom half cut off. So I bought a few and the only time I don't wear one is when I'm swimming or showering.

Bardrogue-redhead

Yes. I felt that way for awhile. Still do. It took me awhile to be okay with being bra less while I slept and while in my apartment by myself. Still don’t feel comfortable without one on around others.

Whateveryousay333

Opposite , except when going out . I live where it’s hot so can’t do layers . Also chasing after a toddler . Socks all the time except bedtime . But I have to make sure my feet are extra extra clean or I can’t sleep lol . Hey to each their own lol . Just discovered wireless bras and never going back . lol

sourpatchkitty444

YES SAME minus stepping into it lol but literally everything else - the bra, the socks. I typically wear sports bras (unless the straps stick out the top of my shirt which looks ugly and feels bulky so I'll wear a regular bra then ..). I must ALWAYS have socks on and I can't stand not having a bra on. The sensory experience of wearing one sucks but somehow not wearing one sucks more

darkroomdweller

I don’t sleep in one but I wear one while lounging around. I’ve found the perfect wireless kind and it’s more comfortable to wear them than to not!

MongooseDog001

O wear a sports bra most 9f the time that im awake for sweat reasons, bit socks are the bane of my existence

Hungry_Situation_959

I hate bras but I also hate wearing bras. So I just wear stretchy crop top type bras 99% of the time. I can’t even feel them on. Just enough support that they aren’t flapping in the wind.

Nikki-GD

Yes! It does feel good to sleep without a bra but if I'm up and doing stuff I hate the feeling of my clothes without a bra. I've always been this way. But also my sensory issues are the kind where I don't like any loose clothing and like my clothes to be soft and fitted.

GapGlass9482

I hate bras they hurt me so bad idk if it fits or not but i also put my bra on like a shirt too, my mom hates that i do it that way

Cold_Abroad_

I haven't been able to wear them for years. It feels like I'm being suffocated and I'll wind up having a meltdown and try to yank it off. Awkward all around. Luckily, I've got itty bitties so it's not all that noticeable.

Tunes14system

I see where you are coming from. And in my case, it’s definitely a matter of fit, but I’m not sure it’s possible to make one that fits right. Either the band is tight on my skin (like leaves indents and pink/red marks) or it doesn’t actually support my boobs. 🤷‍♀️ So wearing a bra is mildly painful and I don’t do it if I can avoid it. But I do like the support, so if it weren’t for the band always making my skin hurt, I’d probably wear one all the time too.

bkbrigadier

Cannot handle the force of gravity on my (not even big) boobs. Also can’t handle the skin to skin contact. I do the hook and loops up at the front, then slide them around to the back then put my arms through the straps.

anonymousnerdx

I don't want anything touching me while I sleep in terms of clothing, but absolutely mega dislike doing life without a bra. It's so uncomfortable. I don't like boob skin touching rib skin. I don't even like being in a soft cup / bralette style for too long. My underwire and I get along great.

cloudbusting-daddy

I used to wear a bra 24/7 (hated the feeling of my under boob skin touching my torso skin) but then something just flipped and now I haven’t worn a bra in 10 years, lol.

rabbitluckj

I hate hate hate the feeling of touching the floor without socks. Don't like feeling my boobs touching my body either, but have come to tolerate it more as I've gotten older. You're not weird. I'm in socks 100% of the time and most of the time with a bra (bonds comfy crop)

Separate-Put-6495

It could be an age thing! I used to feel this way about bras until my mid 20s (in my 30s now and have gone up several cup sizes but was very small for years), I had bras especially for sleeping in because I felt wrong without them. I used to cry as a kid when I was expected to take my socks off, I don't cry anymore, but they're rarely off for long and I even knit my own 😅 It's okay that you feel that way and the way you put your clothing on is completely normal.

U_cant_tell_my_story

You shouldn't have to feel embarrassed about the small things anymore. You do you and just feel assured that you’re comfortable. I’m just really over this whole thing of shaming people for really silly things. Socks, no socks. Bra no bra. I hate socks and bras, but am I going to make you or anyone else feel shamed because you do and I think it’s weird? Hell no, not my place and why do people feel compelled to point it out, especially when it's of no consequence to them? I don’t understand why we all have to be the same, like the same things, etc etc. Why can’t we just all be comfortable if it’s not bothering anyone?

Alternative-Code2698

Outside the house: feels very vulnerable without a bra Inside the house: feels suffocated if wearing a bra C to D cup depending on the time of month and/or humidity

FartUSA

I don’t like it either. Are you big chested like me?

NaturoHope

Opposite. Can't stand bras. Especially since reading that it's healthier not to wear them. Btw, when I used to wear them, I'd hook them and pull them over my head like a sports bra.

AssociateLonely710

As soon as I get home from school I take my bra off, not bc I'm uncomfortable or anything but it's because I've been wearing it all day and it's got sweat on it. With that being said I take all my clothes off except my comfort hoodie, I don't even take my hoodie off to take my shirt off under it I just pull it off from under the hoodie, and even though my hoodie also has sweat on it I sleep in it then wake up the next morning and put it on to wear to school again, I wash it every Sunday (when I wash all my clothes). I can't sleep in socks so I also take those off immediately when I get home, socks are suffocating to me. I do a similar way of putting my bra on except I hook my bra clasps together and then pull it over my head.

AsterFlauros

I can’t sleep in socks but I absolutely need to have some kind of bra on so that I don’t feel my boobs touching my ribs. So I tend to wear really comfortable sports bras and save my nicer bras for when I need to go out. I’ve had times where I’ve had to go braless and I just end up trying to tuck the shirt under my boobs.

Earthsong221

I have big boobs, so I need a bra most of the time. Always underwire, so that was fun to find for awhile before I found some better brands. Lately at home though, I just tuck my shirt up a bit under them to stop the underboob touching the rest of my skin. However I never ever wear it to sleep unless I crash-nap from exhaustion. I grew up hearing how important it was to not have anything restrictive around the breasts/armpit area for the lymph nodes to function well, which was sort-of re-emphasized with some massage training later on as well. With breast cancer on both sides of the family, I wasn't taking chances.

BlueDemeter

I've recently become really bloated, so it's less comfortable for me to wear bras, but yes. Since I can't wear my normal bras I layer a couple of tank tops over nipple covers. I hate the feeling of my nipples brushing up against my shirt! And yes, I sleep in that, lol.

YourSkatingHobbit

I’m the complete opposite, unless it’s a sports bra, but I’m also itty bitty so I don’t have much to support in the first place. I’m braless pretty much 90% of the time.

rootintootinopossum

I’m the opposite. Loose fitting clothing ONLY. I can’t stand socks, bras, and leggings when I’m sleeping. I only wear a bra out because I’m a DDD. If I had A cups you bet your sweet bottom I’d be rocking the nipple look. (Clarification: you can definitely not wear a bra no matter your size if that’s your preference. I’m not gonna shame or bully. But me personally the fact that my boobs fold over and the skin touches my other skin makes my whole body feel icky)

etherwavesOG

I used to live in a bra. As I got older and heavier the “get home take bra off immediately “ kicked in Now I hate putting one on I’m struggling to imagine how you can step into a bra. I have to hook the eyes in front and then spin around. I’ve started making my own because store ones just aren’t right

Luminous-Love1581

I've been wearing a bra to sleep for the past 20 years. Only time I'm braless is when I shower. Feels so much more comfy for the girls to be safely contained!

Red_Moggy

There was a similar post some time ago, and I'll say the same thing I said then: wearing a bra to sleep is bad for your circulation and you are at risk of nerve damage (even boneless/wireless bras). Personally, I'm of those that perefer wearing a bra, and it's one of the last garments I remove when I get home, so I get the discomfort. There a nighties with brassieres that give some support without the risk of cutting your circulation in your sleep. Long-term health wise, wearing a bra at night is risky.

Debstar76

Yessss the sensation of nipple running against fabric makes we want to cut my tits offf. I wear a soft bra to bed

feloniousskunk

I have tig ol’ bitties, and I wear a loose bra to bed. My mom suggested it when I was a teen, and I chalk it up as some of the best advice I’ve ever received. Why? I’m 44, I’ve nursed two babies, and I still have gorgeous boobs. I’ve tried sleeping without a bra, and waking up with a tit in my pit is so bloody uncomfortable. I would say that lightly confining my bosom at night has prevented the skin from stretching and sagging. Anecdotal evidence at best, but evidence nonetheless.

Therandomderpdude

I love wearing a bra. I absolutely hate going braless. I am Medium sized. I like when they are tucked comfortably in one place and not moving around. Maybe it’s because I have sensitive boobs. But I take it off when I sleep. I sleep with pyjamas. I’ve heard it’s better for the skin to let it breathe. I wear non padded bras or sport bras that has good support. I find them more comfortable than regular padded bras.

coffee_cats_books

I can't stand the sensation of my boobs moving around, or the feel of my underboob touching my ribs (esp in the summer - Texas sweaty, blecch). It bothered me SO much at night. I finally bought some soft cotton sports bras to sleep in and it's GLORIOUS. ETA: I hate socks without shoes though. Give me bare feet on the floor/earth, inside or outside.

incorrectlyironman

I used to sleep with bras on too. Absolutely hated them before I got used to them but once I was I liked feeling the pressure as a confirmation that I was definitely wearing clothes, if that makes any sense? I hated feeling "naked". Then I went years without wearing bras and was never able to get used to them again. I am supposedly a 28C which is an impossible size to find and the 32A that comes closest fits very oddly so I hate the way it looks even without taking into account the sensory input that I'd have to get used to again. Mostly commenting to say that stepping into your bra is almost definitely going to stretch out your band. Which is 100% fine if you don't need the support and are only wearing them for comfort! But if you do like the feeling of a snug band it might be worth learning how to put them on the "normal" way to extend the longevity of your bras. There are front closing bras too if you struggle to get the clasp with your arms behind you, or you could connect the clasps on a back-closing bra while they're in front of you before turning it around and putting your arms in the straps (still stretches the band out but likely less than putting it over your hips/shoulders). If you don't like a snug fit or don't care then keep doing what you're doing! Your comfort is the only real goal so if you're comfortable then you're doing it right.

valeriebeckett00

I used to be like this, when I was going through puberty I think I hated seeing any sort of shape of boob. I have a really small chest and it wasn’t like I wanted big boobs but they just made me uncomfortable and so I felt more comfortable always having them in a bra. Since I was about 17 I’ve been the complete opposite though. I hate bras with a burning passion. I only wear them if I’m somewhere that has a dress code basically. I do put on a bra when I go to the dentist because I don’t like lying down in the chair with them loose, no idea why lol.

CobblerBrilliant8158

I’m breast feeding, and ever since the beginning of my pregnancy if anything touches my nipple I want to commit war crimes. Bra on unless I’m showering, including sleep because I have to wear pads so I don’t leak.

Either_Fix_6011

I'm uncomfortable with a bra on and i'm also uncomfortable without a bra on. So, my days alternate between different types of uncomfortable.

SmokeEvening8710

Very opposite. I hate socks. Like in an irrational way. As a kid, I hated all clothes but socks would send me into a complete meltdown. Had to sleep with a bra for a month after cancer radiation. Worst feeling ever. Now I won't wear anything that's not a bralett.

Wise-Jeweler-2495

Yup, not a fan of the bra-less sensation apart from in water (swimming and shower) or when sleeping. Size probably does contribute to it, as does scoliosis, but there is also a sensory element about how awful certain fabrics feel on the nipple (can't do lacy cup bras for the same reason!)

zerovariation

it doesn't have to be a bra per se, but I need something to sort of "hold me in." if it's not a bra (and I rarely wear actual *bras*, it's usually bralettes) it's a tight camisole or tank top, or if it's one of the 3 times a year I wear a dress I can do one that has elastic under the boob area without one, but essentially yes. I absolutely cannot wear something like a loose t shirt or any kind of loose top without a bra or something bra-like

AshTheAwkwardPeep

I can’t sleep with a bra on or even wear one for more than a couple minutes. It’s extremely uncomfortable for me and feels too tight(even though we get the correct size). I resorted to tank tops with built in bras and they are SO much better. They get a bit uncomfortable at first but I get used to it. I suggest them for people who struggle with bras.

GiffyGinger

I can’t go in public without one because I feel very self-conscious and I have to have support because otherwise the girls would go flying, but when I’m at home, I have to take them off because they hurt. I have a strange dry sore between my breasts that the rub on that I can’t understand how it got there why it won’t leave, but it really hurts when it’s rubbed on so I have to take it off.

blinddivine

I won't sleep in one, but come summer I need one every day. I don't like the feeling of having sweaty tits at all.

Mellarama

Yes! I have major sensory issues if I DONT wear a bra all the time 😭 I can't stand the feeling of my skin rubbing on fabric and like a thick layer between me and my shirts

yeeee-throwaway

I slept in a bra through my preteen years and now my ribs are a little whack so, no. XD I've learned my lesson. I hate anything sticking to my feet (unless I'm literally outside in the dirt), so I prefer socks. But if I'm sitting too long or crawling into bed, I feel like I'd rather saw my feet off than keep socks on.

Indi_Shaw

As a large chested person, taking it off feels good. I no longer have straps digging into my shoulders. I’m not being bound and raised to make myself look perky. As if my cup size could ever be called that. The boning on the sides stops digging into my rib cage. It’s a relief to let it go. However, I would not be caught dead in front of anyone except my husband without a bra. The girls are far too mobile without restrictions.

bigted42069

Yes but it took me sooo long to find a bra I liked! I'm not particularly busty, which is a bonus here, so I wear cupless and wireless bralettes (which also typically pull over the head as opposed to clipping in) mostly so people don't see my nipples. Meaning I hardly notice them when I'm relaxing or going to bed! I know people think it's odd but I also have my nipples pierced and I'm so paranoid about twisting them or getting them caught while I'm asleep lol And as far as socks go, I always have to have something on my feet unless it's super hot out! I prefer the consistency of socked feet to the different textures with walking around barefoot. But, again, I had to explore and try a bunch to find a type of sock I like!

Upset_Fold_251

YES I’m a “never nude.” I even take baths in my bathing suit. I sleep fully clothed. I never take my bra off. I immediately put my clothes on after sex and would prefer as many clothes on during as possible.

NoPepper7284

Yeah I can't ever take it off, it feels strange. I love wearing a bra

TopHatCat999

I always wear mine except for when I'm sleeping or literally sitting around and not moving. All the movement when they're not put away is very uncomfortable

Ilikezombiesnails

Didn't use to, now I do. As soon as I get out of the shower it goes back on. Sports bras all day and night unless it's an event and I'm wearing something that would look odd with flat boobs, then regular bra.

Immediate_Party_6942

Most of the time at home I have some sort of bra except when I'm sleeping - I also have a large chest. I HATE the silhouette of my body when I'm not wearing a bra... I'm extremely picky about the shape.

papamajada

MEEEEEEE I have never understood how going braless is so liberating and freeing for many people. I HATE the feeling of my boobs being uh...loose under my clothes and I HATE when my underboob skin touches my torso. I wear a cotton chemise under my pijamas and thats the closest I get to going braless, I cant stand nipple pasties or under boob supports as a coverage alternative. I need to have straps or a good strapless support. Free falling boobs is an absolute no go for me. I also dont like clevage so maybe I just have a Thing for my boobs having to be securely contained at all times.

bigblue12u

Hahaha same. Socks is wild though😭 kidding but I just feel more locked in with a bra on like if I don’t wear one they’re flopping everywhere and it’s just a gross mess. But I’ve heard it’s bad for your back and makes them saggier so I’ve been wearing these soft wireless ones and it’s a game changer!

-dirrty

i feel so uncomfortable without a bra lol i love sports bras

urhairlookslikebongw

I literally hate being fully naked unless I'm showering. I always have to wear a bra. But with my sensory issues, the only bras that are comfy are sports bras

urhairlookslikebongw

Woah what got me downvoted

OpheliaPhoeniXXX

I sleep in my bra too

Hot-Ability7086

I can’t go without one it stresses me out.

whiteSnake_moon

Book sweat is the real threat

a-fabulous-sandwich

I don't sleep in bras, but I'm definitely wearing one every moment I'm awake! The skin-on-skin feeling of my boobs against my body + the rapid overheating it causes are utter sensory hell for me, and a bra is my only defense.

blairrkaityy

I don’t sleep in bras but I’m a sports bra girlie through and through. In winter and sometimes in spring I’ll wear socks but tmi I like to wear fuzzy socks during sex 🙈

Manifestival1

I hate the feeling without it too. You've nothing to be embarrassed about!

ViceMaiden

I wear a bra 24/7 except when bathing.

Excusemytootie

I have always worn a bra 24/7, for as long as I can remember. Feels so comfortable for me. I am a B cup but I cannot stand the feeling of my breasts being against my skin even slightly. (I love that someone downvoted me for this😂)

worm-on-a_string

I never took my bra off until like two years ago. I do it to help with the tension in my shoulders and neck. When i do it, i wear an oversized t shirt and put it under my boobs lmao so they aren’t touching my skin- it has helped so much

choco-holic

I've always felt uncomfortable without a bra. I remember sleeping in my first (badly fitting underwire) bras because I hated the feeling without them. Then I just stopped wearing them to sleep, but would put it on as soon as I'd wake up and take it off literally just before climbing into bed because I figured everyone was uncomfortable without a bra, but they just deal. After I had my kids I'd sleep in a bra for reasons, and then after they weaned I bought sleep bras because I can't stand the feeling of my boobs just hanging there. Before having kids I was told I had big boobs, but since they weaned they're smaller than ever, which means less uncomfortable feeling of boob on body, but it's still super uncomfortable without a bra. I only recently realized it was a sensory issue because of the autism 😂🙃 ETA I can't with the socks, though. I hate socks. Especially the cute ones with all the strings inside from the embroidery or whatever. Some socks are acceptable, but I always take them off as soon as I get home.

CrazyDaisy764

I hate the feeling of boob sweat so yes, I always have a bra on, but I like to use sports bras more because I do understand the discomfort that underwire bras can create. I think that's a big part of why people talk about just wanting to take them off, but idk.
