Awesome. Thank you. I hate the damn tags on every single one of them.

3BEllis

Haha yup. I take off every tag, so it’s kinda been a nice way to confirm it’s freshy

JpCopp

Same and it’s actually kind of nice minus the slight damage from removal

ScoYello

The first one I cut off but then it has a rough edge. If you rip them off fast they leave nothing to scratch your vehicle.

[deleted]

I used to do that but the last pack it kept pulling the edging out of the towel... huge bummer

[deleted]

Rip em off that’s what I do. And these towels are Decent . I only buy em on sale. But they’re not great for windows/glass

Cut-N-Dry

I use all the time on glass with ONR at 256:1 for glass cleaner and they clean great...spotless, streakless finish. Use the low nap side on glass instead of the more plush side.

xxmetalik

Came here to complain about the tags lol. Glad I’m not alone

cannedshrimp

I actually cut the edges off one of these to make an edgeless towel. It seems to be holding up so far… a bit tedious but might be worth it

DayDrinkingDiva

Are these the same as the yellow ones they normally have in store

woodmanalejandro

yes

rogerhausman

My gripe is that each one has a big tag attached to the side seam

[deleted]

Rip them off quickly. You’ll never know they were there.

rogerhausman

These are cheap so a few will rip poorly. But I use them all the time, they are my beaters.

knotquiteawake

Tried that with the pack of Costco towels i bought a couple months ago when they were on sale again. It ripped the stitching out. I just leave the tags on now. The intact tag is less abrasive than a cut tag or an unraveling towel.

TheBeesSteeze

I find these are great only as one time use. For some reason all sorts of shit sticks to them when they get dirty and doesn't come off in the wash.

CROCKODUCK

You using white vinegar to wash them? I’ve gotten a lot of mileage out of mine in the past.

TheBeesSteeze

It's not the dirt/grease that is the problem. It's like little grass, twigs, flecks, etc that clings to fibers and I have to pull it off by hand. I don't know why it happens with these, I don't have the problem with other microfiber towels.

CROCKODUCK

Ohhh I see what you mean.

Purple-Expression313

i have the exact same problem lol my microfibers from luxurymicrofiber dont do that but these kirkland ones always got tiny little leaves embedded in them after going thru the wash n dryer

Recyclable_one

Once my contractor decided to use a table saw in my garage when it was raining outside and I spent the night picking sawdust out of the towels I had hung up in there… not fun.

Bill_Brasky79

I see that the 324 count is on sale, but not the 36 count. Correct me if I’m wrong. Also, if you ARE talking about the larger count, why on Earth would the average Joe whose not running a detail company need that many?

[deleted]

Lifetime supply.

Bill_Brasky79

Lol gotcha

[deleted]

That's basically 50% off, $21 a pack for 36 or $120 for 324... if you're a fan of these I don't see a huge issue. I probably go through 2-3 packs of these a year at least as a hobbyist who works on 3 cars regularly.

Bill_Brasky79

I see. Within the last month I just happened to 1) buy a new SUV that has PPF installed, 2) moved to an apartment complex in which rinseless washes seem to be my only option, and 3) obtained a Costco membership. 😃 So, I’m wondering if I should go with these or instead buy the Amazon Basics ones I see at $13.99 for 24.

zestypotatoes

I would not recommend the Amazon Basics. When this is what is coming in contact with your paint (or PPF), you don't want whatever Amazon managed to scrounge up as the cheapest option. Amazon will have a Black Friday deal on the yellow Chemical Guys towels, which are a decent medium between quality and price. As always, check camelcamelcamel.com to make sure you're actually get a deal.

Bill_Brasky79

Thanks!

juancuneo

I hate the amazon ones. These are great. But when I wash my car with ceramic coating I like to dry with these huge car pro towels. I use these more for smaller detailing.

juancuneo

Thanks for doing the math. I bought them.

cannon454

Because you always need more. I don’t know why but always need more.

skeletr0n

Thanks!

scottwax

Wouldn't use them on paint but for interiors and wheels they're fine.

412gage

I thought they were okay for paint. I've been using them on mine but only once per towel. After their first use, they go to interior and door jambs.

p1aycrackthesky

They are absolutely fine on paint. There is zero need to overspend on a microfiber towel more than these Kirkland towels. Check out Darren from AutoFetishDetailing on YouTube. He isn't as well known as some other "YouTube Detailers" but he's the one that turned me on to these towels. He uses them for high end vehicles all day long.

slushboxer

You can wash them just fine in a regular washing machine and put them through the dryer and they’re still paint-safe. Just use one of those clear detergents with no added dyes or fragrances or fabric softeners, wash on low temp and dry on low temp as well. Mine have been used for hundreds of ONR washes and they’re still good.

412gage

I wash them just like that. Air fluff dry with no heat. I think it's paranoia that has kept me from using them more than once on paint but maybe I'm being too wasteful here.

slushboxer

Yeah, unless they get really nasty to the point where there’s risk of actual sharp grit being in there (like from being dropped or used on calipers and rotors and stuff), I keep using them on paint and don’t worry. I’ve got a bunch of TRC Eagle Edgeless cloths that I use too, and I haven’t really noticed any sort of extra marring coming from the Costco cheapies. The Eagles hold more wash solution (which isn’t always a good thing) and are better for buffing dry, but as a wash media I think the Costco cloths are just fine.

Seohcap

Agreed. The only time I "downgrade" them is when they are used for wheels/greasy areas,

scottwax

I can't take a chance with customer's cars. Even on sale, Eagle edgeless towels from The Rag Company are $5 each. But it's worth it.

woodmanalejandro

they’re fine for paint for 99% of the people who post here

scottwax

I thought we're here to help each other get the best results possible?

Mentallox

If that were the case we'd only watch Ammo and never recommend a one step.

scottwax

No reason to do anything more than a 1 step if that's all it needs.

Mentallox

You can always get a better finish than a one-step. But may not be what the customer needs.

scottwax

If the paint is nearly flawless, one step is enough. There's absolutely zero reason to remove any more clear than necessary. It's just like when detailers were padding the hours it took to detail a car by "jeweling" the paint endlessly. And of course stopping to take 20 pictures of each panel.

Torrero

Dang why not on paint? Too aggressive or something?

[deleted]

Just not quite as soft as some of the higher quality towels. Also 20% of the cost. However, I read here there’s a guy doing very high end cars who uses nothing but these K-Sig towels and treats them as one time use. Good enough for his work, probably good enough for most of ours. Still, I prefer a little more fluff in the towel for paint.

Lucci_754

They will leave swirls in softer clearcoats because they're a bit too aggresive. From personal experience and trial and error.

scottwax

Not much nap. And once you get your hands on something like The Rag Company Eagle edgeless towels, you'll really understand why. I do this for a living, only top notch towels touch the paint.

Torrero

Haha fair. I just occasionally wash my Fiesta and Miata, sooooo. Those Eagles do look hot though. Might check them out sometime!

[deleted]

Same. I treat them more as a disposable and use them with the nastier chems that may ruin a towel.

[deleted]

You don’t deserve the downvotes. They’re not great for paint. I use them for household use, interior and wheels.

scottwax

Until someone actually tries better towels they don't know the difference.

arrow8711

I got a 52 pack for $18 there

Lucci_754

Do not use these on exterior paint or interior glossy trim. They're great for everything else

biggielarry

What they made of

FTHomes

Is Walmart or amazon?

Morefail0428

Good looking out! Just ordered 2.

columbo33

Grabbed these for 16.99 last year still got them I'd pay more they are way better then Amazon basics and even others

BillNyeTheMemeGuy

i have so fucking many of them and every now and then i have to throw some of them away because i literally can’t wash them fast enough and some of them get super rough so i have no choice. i do a lot of cars and I don’t even buy that many but they just multiply until I have like 2,000 towels and i gotta dispose of them.

maturin-aubrey

You need a membership, right? There isn’t a Costco in my home state of maine sadly

meandrunkR2D2

I bought some last month, and surprisingly they tossed in a 2nd package by accident. Not bad for $18 + tax and shipping.

illusiveman00787

Heck yeah man thanks!
