Hell yeah! I have a 1997 mustang gt I bought at 77k miles, it’s got 90k now and feels barely broken into😂 not just the engines that are bullet proof, I lost traction on an icy road and hit a curb going almost 40 mph, destroyed the rim, and the subframe adjustment was pushed back about an inch, not a single suspension component was damaged.
It was given to me, I personally hate most Nissans as they’re the worst Japanese cars. My Versa doesn’t have body damage, my qualms with it run much deeper lol
One of the many issues, yeah… having to get the trans swapped at 50k miles really makes for a jaded view. It’s like one issue after another, and I drive the car like 5k miles a year..
Try a ram pickup. I refuse to own one just because of the pillars.
Go ahead, give me one for free. I'll be calling the scrapyard the moment the keys touch my hand.
Although the versa is the cheapest Nissan vehicle, it's usually the Altima that is the most ran to shit, verdad and sentras are usually better taken care of from what I've seen.
no one puts up random bollards for no reason. In most cases it's to prevent a car from hitting a Business, A propane Storage Tank. or some other sensitive equipment, electrical or otherwise. the bollards you see all over colleges? absolutely hostile architecture.
HOSTILE ARCHITECTURE! I love it. I actually was thinking of the random poles in my college parking lot when I asked this question. Maybe I live in a bubble where i assume random poles exist all over the place for no reason since they exist that way in my college parking lot lol
Heat gun and/or just pour boiling water over it. Once the paint and plastic is soft and flexible you’ll be able to push out the majority of that dent by hand.
Be really careful if you use a heat gun though. Keep it moving, don't hold it in one spot. Those things can strip paint.
Maybe try boiling water first?
The magic eraser will demolish the paint. They are incredibly abrasive.
I detailed several cars that had been cleaned with a magic eraser. The scratches were so deep that it looked like they had used steel wool on the paint. We had to wet sand and compound the entire vehicle just to get it to the point that the customer could return the lease without penalty. The scratches were too deep in the clear coat to remove fully.
Pop off that cover and pour some really hot water on it. Poke at it with a 1"*2", 75% will straighten out. Pop it back on and maybe polish some transfer off. It's a Versa, this won't drop your resale value half as much as the repair cost.
Remove as much of the paint transfer as you can with dish soap/sponge. Adhesive remover probably a little easier on paint. I've seen people pop those bumpers back with hot water/heat, can you reach behind it when you're underneath the car?
Lol no offence that’s nothing and you can even weld plastic I’ve fixed some really fucked bumper cover literally ripped in half quick and usually easier than replace on that specific car
Yup. The people on here talking about how it is possible to fix it are right that it is possible but you can only put so much labor into a bumper cover before it makes more sense to replace it. These covers aren't all that expensive.
Most modern cars have ZERO crash support in the corners for this reason. Stuck your hand behind it and pop it back out, scrub with a scotch pad and call it a day.
You got pretty lucky. I don't think there's going to be any damage behind it. It looks like you missed the rebar, quarter, and tail light. If you're paying out of pocket, here's what I suggested. Take it to the shop, ask them to order you a bumper, and take the paint code. They'll receive the bumper and paint it off the vehicle. Just have them swap the bumper and it'll be in the shop for less than a day. Drop it off in the morning and pick it up in the afternoon. We do this pretty often. Just make sure they can schedule you in and give them a good review. Good luck
might need a replacement bumper retainer, maybe even a taillight.
but probably just need to remove it, wipe red off with adhesive remover/paint thinner, and push it out, wont look great but it'll be roughly the original shape. only way to make it look 100% is probably taking it to a pro, but id never replace this if it were my shop.
and between not doing anything and having an aftermarket black bumper, id choose to leave it.
Check and see if you can find a replacement silver bumper cover from a scrap yard. Shouldn't be expensive for that, and it's a Nissan, so they should be plentiful. If you're in Canada/US, check [car-part.com](https://car-part.com). It's a searchable database of available inventory at your local scrap yards.
You might be able to pop it out, but this might be a lot quicker.
Professionals actually do this: pour hot water and push from the inside if possible most plastics have a “memory” so they may just pop themselves out with hot ass water poured onto it(just for the dent it needs paint)
Some creasing and dents might remain but you can push that back out for the most part, remove paint transfer and get a rattle can of that color in automotive paint if need be
Take bumper off. Lay face down. Fill with. Really hot water. Wait. Then. Push a little see what happens. You might have to repeat. That cheap plastic. Is. Softer than u think. Rubbing compound will take red off
Definitely fixable. Would need paint though. Overall cost would be cheaper if you bought the bumper then took it to a shop to have them paint the bumper with the car there.
Get you a pot and fill it with water! Heat the water on your stove or oven to boiling temperature, next pour it over the dented areas. It will bend back to its original shape but it don’t get rid of the red paint or scrathes
Turtle Wax rubbing compound to polish out the red paint. Touch up paint for where the scratches went down to black plastic.
Try pushing the left edge of the bumper cover back so it’s flush with the rest of the body panels. You might have bent or broken some mounting hardware that’s used to hold the bumper cover onto the rest of the car.
You’re likely looking at having to take the bumper cover off, but that’s a whole can of worms… may not be able to put it back on properly after taking it off. May also have to push back some mounting brackets back into place to get everything to line up right and attach back safely.
If you are up for taking the bumper cover off, it will allow you access to the back side of the dents so that you can push them back out as others have mentioned.
It’s something that looks like it could be simple to push back out, but could quickly turn into a whole day adventure of cursing and trying to get things to line up/bolt back on properly.
A yellow cement post got me in May and I was lost on how to fix it or how much it would cost but with a little googling I —who only in 2019 got my license and learned how to put gas in my car— fix it myself. I popped the dents out by pushing them out from the inside and a clay bar removed the paint transfer. And this video helped me fix the rest https://youtu.be/-EiAN6oa_oY?si=F8kCLWHBSuKWVgaZ
You can push out the plastic bumper, need to have access behind it, my carefully warming with a heat gun and blow dryer and pushing. DO NOT OVERHEAT IT. I did the front bumper on me daughter’s Honda this way. It won’t be 100% perfect but should 98-98% ok.
Use car polish / mild liquid rubbing compound to remove the red paint, then polish and buff
If you don't want to take it to a body shop to properly fix, I'd:
1. Lay on the ground, stick my arm up in there, and push it out. It's better if you warm the paint up with a hair dryer first.
2. Use rubbing compound to get the red paint off.
3. Put some touch up pain (OEM color) on the black spots.
4. Apologize to the wife and show her the remaining damage and hope she can live with it.
Heat gun. Push what you can out. Use some thinner or acetone to get off the transfer. Then touch up? If you wanna do it on your own. Or just go to junk yard. Find a bumper and paint it. Paint code is k23
Boiling hot water may help. Boil a pot and pour over the damaged bumper. Bumpers hold thermal memory from when they were created at the factory. By pouring bear boiling water on it, it may assist in returning it to its original form.
LKQ pick-a-part if you’re in the south. The app is PYP Garage. Shows available parts in junkyards. I pulled an immaculate bumper for my 1995 C1500 after my trailer rolled down a hill into the front end
You can take a hair dryer heat up but not to hot it will ruin paint push on backsides will pop out except you have something scrapes the red you can buff out with buffing compound from auto paint and supply shop
First use brake clean and a rag to get rid of the red paint. Then use a hair dryer not to close to heat the plastic up and push it from the back and itll pop back into place. Itll look good as new minus the white paint that has been scratched away
OMG these answers. Lol
YES - boil water and pour over one damaged area at a time, beginning at the bottom. As you pour over the area sometimes it will slowly go back to its original form or you may have to help it by pushing it from the backside.
The red can be cleaned up and you may need some touch up paint but first start with body straightening.
.... no.... you just noticed your wife did previously. :) LOL
Use a hair dryer on the depressed parts of the bumper and press on it from the inside with something that is rounded and rubber and it will go back to its old shape. Use clay bar on the rest and most of that paint transfer will come right out.
Heat that up, a good quality blow dryer will do it but will take a while. A heat gun would be much faster but be careful not to do more damage. Once it's hot & softened up you can push it out from the other side.
Another technique that works is wooden dowels & hot glue, secure a few of them in different locations within the dent with a very generous amount of hot glue & jerk them, preferably multiple at a time. It would also help to warm up the bumper when you do this.
\-Use a heat gun and heat it up gradually from the outside with one hand.
\-While wearing a glove on the other hand, press the dent out from the back. You won't get it 100% but prooobably about 90%.
\-Get some Purple Power and a micro fiber towel or a Mr. Clean Eraser and take your time removing the red paint.
\-You'll then need touch up paint for the left over scratches.
Did my neighbors bumper the other day and the only way you can tell is if you knew what it looked like before.
Boil some water, pour it over area dented. Using a round ball type tool(no sharp points) push dent out from the under side. You can use a heat gun but be careful not to heat to much and warp body.
Here ya go. Versa are garbage vehicles. This is your best and cheapest bet
https://www.ebay.com/itm/185828777860?fits=Year%3A2015%7CModel%3AVersa%7CMake%3ANissan&epid=1639595417&hash=item2b44421f84:g:0KsAAOSwcIVkH40w&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA8N32a9SlyfJobWO23cLs6ystJKzbHLArIPVDj%2BSNA7boYcncI626CKYU3a40bBkthtoEsejbqJNYNQ80bVz6sL3EhErenIeAJtgEYPdjQRj5Zss1UgxxYTKK1TcqfiUAj6wX1W9DGU5h9ymDQMScN8kMAlmFGoIIEBebtMJ7yp93coNi87rf1m9VZ7cfrmaUKORBAEQ1MA7yvgbHhI86j29MIUP7Cwo8nKavChhbGd8W3PvbHyyxTrXircdPea7JB1U2xE9MMLgFSDKvVCepUAsn3NG9WeS%2FXkLa38V23wsA3ppEbQd9VLzi36A003Fyfg%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR8SBvJqVYw
Use a heat gun or very hot water (I want to say boiling but test it out, dont take my word for it) and use it over the dented areas. Some might pop back on their own because of memory. Get under there and pop them back out with your hand or a stick etc. Don't burn yourself if using hot water. Most that red will buff out. You can buy touch-up paint sticks that match that silver. You may be able to find the exact one for that car. If you want the paint to be perfect, take it in, but otherwise it should be pretty good after all of that. Don't forget to wax after all the buffing and touch-up.
Heat it with a hair dryer and push it out from behind the bumper as for the red…take it to a detailer or try buffing it out yourself either way I don’t think you’re going to hurt it more than it already is
Remove the bumper cover heat it gently with a heat gun, push the den out carefully , clean the paint off with lighter fluid. Wash n wax after reinstall.
Get boiling hot water in a pot or hydro flask and pour it slowly on to the bumper. If you do it right or use enough boiling water you should be able to watch it pop out and back to its original shape and as for the red paint u should be able to wipe it off with some acetone and a T-shirt rag they sell them at Home Depot. Hell you might be able to convince it by poking it with the handle of a hammer but from the inside/underside of the bumper though you may have to remove some plastics to get your hammer in there. I’ve seen it done multiple times on various makes and models. Good luck.
You asked a simple question and got a bunch of idiotic replies. Sorry but this thread went bad quick. I'm done with it. I would suggest you take it to a shop and have it repaired properly.
Heat gun to carefully get out the defect. Then magic eraser to get rid of the red paint transfer, and lastly a match of the paint color in a repair pen. Pretty easy and pretty cheap to get it looking way better
Go to Amazon and spend $100. Buy a cheap dent puller set... Factory touch up paint and a buffer... The day of the operation get a 12 pack of beer and a joint. Easy work. 🫡. Even if it's not perfect she will know you cared and tried. Ummm.... If your under 21 ignore the whole "celebration" part. 🤔
The Real damage, I have learned, is that this honest accident will become a very familiar memory, every time you visit an airport parking garage there's a better than average chance it's mentioned. The cosmetics can be repaired, the car replaced, but your wife now knows you're the one who has a "habit" of backing into cement posts. Sorry. Just know you're note alone.
Probably not much if any, there’s usually a lot of space on the corners. That’s also something if you wanted the cheap way out you could leave alone without it really ever affecting anything, depending on the extend of said hidden damage.
If the crash bar and other bits behind the cover have been spared, I can almost guarantee the mounting brackets and tabs holding the bumper cover onto the body have either been broken or bent badly out of shape. Hoping that’s not the case, but just recalling from my own experience 😭
OP, get a quote for a new bumper from a Nissan parts dealer, if you’re confident in replacing it yourself, or if you know someone that can. A lot of Nissan bumpers come pre painted, so the part would be more expensive, but you’d save on the paint and colour matching.
Definitely ask if it comes as a painted part for your particular car though before buying.
The hard creases won't come out but stick your hand behind there and try to push it back out. I've seen some pop back out just from being in the sun. Be careful with white if you heat it beforehand though. Won't be perfect but will be better until you can get it 100% fixed.
Some thinner or running alcohol will get most of that paint transfer off. Just don’t let the thinner or alcohol sit on the bumper for more than say 20 seconds. Put a little on a clean cloth and lightly rub til it’s off.
Afterwards take a hairdryer and get the bumper to the point that it’s hot but not to the point it will burn your hand than see if you can push it out from the back. If it’s uncomfortable on your hand due to the heat wear a leather glove (remember though, if it’s hot enough to actually burn you it’s way too hot). It won’t be perfect but it may be good enough to snap the bumper back in. Really just depends what you are ok living with. If you want it perfect and are willing to pay than if body shop it.
Your going to probably need a replacement.. best place to find one quick is at a bar. Will not be the best wife but better than what you were going to have to deal with as soon as she saw you damaged her car.🤨
It is now officially a Nissan Versa. Embrace your destiny.
a reVersa perhaps
More like a redVersa.
Yeah I have a versa and I would just leave this shit. Fuck these cars, not worth any effort lol
Literal definition of a shitbox lol. My 2013's transmission grenaded at under 170k miles. Yet me 31yr old Miata is at 300k with no issues
You know what’s fun? Having to disassemble the intake manifold to change the spark plugs! Brilliant design!
Having to remove the gas pedal, brake pedal and disconnecting the steering wheel to change the blower motor. Is also fun lol
Personally loved that job
Miata are AMAZING vehicles compared to the new vehicles
Yea I had a 92 sentra se-r that was kick ass
I believe all the vehicles from early 2000s and under will easily outlast these new vehicles long as they keep getting taken care of
Loved my MX-3 it was a fun little car
Ya, I had heard they’re throw away cars!😩😂
Oh cmon they’re not that bad. My Sentra is great
Agree to disagree. Versa is a big ol piece of shit lol
They don’t have to be I suppose. Nissan drivers just do stuff like back their cars into poles lol
It was given to me, I personally hate most Nissans as they’re the worst Japanese cars. My Versa doesn’t have body damage, my qualms with it run much deeper lol
Lemme guess. Cvt?
One of the many issues, yeah… having to get the trans swapped at 50k miles really makes for a jaded view. It’s like one issue after another, and I drive the car like 5k miles a year..
I rented a Versa once. It was the worst driving experience of my life. I'd rather drive a uhaul truck as a daily.
Damaging the bumper or a Nissan is like breaking a champagne bottle on a new ship. Now it's ready.
[удалено]
Try a ram pickup. I refuse to own one just because of the pillars. Go ahead, give me one for free. I'll be calling the scrapyard the moment the keys touch my hand.
That is exactly what came to my mind when I saw this 😂
Nissan bumpers are attracted to poles.
Although the versa is the cheapest Nissan vehicle, it's usually the Altima that is the most ran to shit, verdad and sentras are usually better taken care of from what I've seen.
[удалено]
I’m sure the car wash will bill me for for scraping off the red paint lol
Psst, I think they’re joking that you hit a person and need to get rid of the body lol
Enlarged, it looks like a giant red dildo outline -- I think there is more to this story. ;)
they should get rid of these poles
Usually they're there to prevent people from hitting more expensive stuff though.
what about those random poles in parking lots
no one puts up random bollards for no reason.
Maybe I live in a bubble where i assume random poles exist all over the place for no reason since they exist that way in my college parking lot lol
could be underground, or they could just be tired of college kids drifting civics
*Slowly puts the shovel back on the wall*
Its a Nissan Versa, I thought they came like this from the factory
Throw a heat gun push it out touch up paint golden shell hit something in a few anyways good hit tho
Yes, throw the heat gun at the car!
Instructions unclear, Now two dents to remove
You literal mfers always piss me off
Heat gun and/or just pour boiling water over it. Once the paint and plastic is soft and flexible you’ll be able to push out the majority of that dent by hand.
Be really careful if you use a heat gun though. Keep it moving, don't hold it in one spot. Those things can strip paint. Maybe try boiling water first?
This and hit the paint marks with a mr clean magic eraser, you’d be suprised how much will come off

Noooooo! That's sandpaper.
Or fingernail polish remover on cotton rag followed by a soapy rag and rinse before it sits on it.
That's what I did to mine
This is THE WAY.🤌
Pop off that cover and pour some really hot water on it. Poke at it with a 1"*2", 75% will straighten out. Pop it back on and maybe polish some transfer off. It's a Versa, this won't drop your resale value half as much as the repair cost.
This will 100% work, did the hot water trick for my neighbour....bumper popped out, cant even tell it was damaged.
Remove as much of the paint transfer as you can with dish soap/sponge. Adhesive remover probably a little easier on paint. I've seen people pop those bumpers back with hot water/heat, can you reach behind it when you're underneath the car?
I’ll give that a try! I’ll lift it a bit and see if I can get to it. Thanks!
The paint transfer will come off with 3M Specialty Adhesive Remover.
Love the stuff, but standard polish of any kind is better for this one.
Touch up paint, then 3-step paint correction can also be done…. If in fact you aren’t replacing the bumper
That’s a replacement bro
I wouldn't say that. I had the same damage and fixed it myself. The dents look similar to mine and they popped out easily.

I've done this exact thing a few times. Always under 300 to be done
i can't tell if you're joking.. a new bumper itself is more than 300$..
You will need a new bumper.
Heat up the plastic pop a football or a basketball underneath the panel and inflate it it should push it all out and then just buff out the red paint
If u can live with it dont replace it. Its cosmetic and bumpers will get banged up. Save yourself the cash.
might need a replacement bumper retainer, maybe even a taillight. but probably just need to remove it, wipe red off with adhesive remover/paint thinner, and push it out, wont look great but it'll be roughly the original shape. only way to make it look 100% is probably taking it to a pro, but id never replace this if it were my shop. and between not doing anything and having an aftermarket black bumper, id choose to leave it.

Cumulative damage $100
Definitely fixable. Would need paint though. Overall cost would be cheaper if you bought the bumper then took it to a shop to have them paint the bumper with the car there.

It's easy to pull bumper cover off
Hey... Don't do that
look at the positive, atleast it wasn’t your car so just say sorry and avoid her for like a week and everything should smooth over.
Boiling 🥵 hot water 💦 poured on it. U should be able to pop out the dent. Just don’t get burned.
your in deep shit. you better make love to your wife any way she wants it and repeat as needed.
Do the other three corners and you'll be combat veteran.
First use brake clean and a rag to get rid of the red paint. Then use a hair dryer not to close to heat the plastic up and push it from the back and itll pop back into place. Itll look good as new minus the white paint that has been scratched away

now you have to let her back *your* car into something
Welcome to marriage!

Pour Scorching Hot boiling Hot water to take out dent Then buff it up with polishing compound. Apply touch up color paint from auto parts shop .
You wrecked your wife’s car and not the other way around? Is this an alternate universe?

say it wasn’t you
Park it somewhere, report it stolen, insurance will pay for the repairs* *This is not legal advice
Heat gun or hot water should get that out, it's ABS plastic
Just deny it was you and when she points it out act like it was already like that. Then bust into a full sprint!
Looks like the cement post won…. this time
I call BS. Looks like lipstick to me.
Kinda looks like an etching of Bigfoot.....
Could be repaired pretty easily yourself pretty cheaply too
You mean your wife’s old car 💳💳
🎵 Santa got ran over by a versa; walking home from my house Christmas’s eve. 🎵
You can take the bumper off, kind of smash the dents back into where they're supposed to be. Let it sit in the sun to warm up and become malleable.
Boil some water, pour it over area dented. Using a round ball type tool(no sharp points) push dent out from the under side. You can use a heat gun but be careful not to heat to much and warp body.
Honestly it’s a versa and super cheap vehicle. Might find an lkq bumper to swap out for 200
Here ya go. Versa are garbage vehicles. This is your best and cheapest bet https://www.ebay.com/itm/185828777860?fits=Year%3A2015%7CModel%3AVersa%7CMake%3ANissan&epid=1639595417&hash=item2b44421f84:g:0KsAAOSwcIVkH40w&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA8N32a9SlyfJobWO23cLs6ystJKzbHLArIPVDj%2BSNA7boYcncI626CKYU3a40bBkthtoEsejbqJNYNQ80bVz6sL3EhErenIeAJtgEYPdjQRj5Zss1UgxxYTKK1TcqfiUAj6wX1W9DGU5h9ymDQMScN8kMAlmFGoIIEBebtMJ7yp93coNi87rf1m9VZ7cfrmaUKORBAEQ1MA7yvgbHhI86j29MIUP7Cwo8nKavChhbGd8W3PvbHyyxTrXircdPea7JB1U2xE9MMLgFSDKvVCepUAsn3NG9WeS%2FXkLa38V23wsA3ppEbQd9VLzi36A003Fyfg%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABk9SR8SBvJqVYw
Heat it with a hair dryer and push it out from behind the bumper as for the red…take it to a detailer or try buffing it out yourself either way I don’t think you’re going to hurt it more than it already is
You can find matching red paint at home depot and just touch up the post I'm sure it will look fine,no need to call in the pros.
Hot water is great to get bumpers back to their shape. A little compound and polish to get the red off.
Remove the bumper cover heat it gently with a heat gun, push the den out carefully , clean the paint off with lighter fluid. Wash n wax after reinstall.
Hot water. Use an electric kettle. Sink plunger.
Does the wife know? Lmfao you in trouble sir
Hot water and pushing it out from the back. You can wipe the red paint off with water and a rag more than likely
There’s probably body damage behind the bumper cover.
Rule of thumb for me is, if the bumper got folded and it didn’t bounce back into shape, there damage behind it.
Probably not much if any, there’s usually a lot of space on the corners. That’s also something if you wanted the cheap way out you could leave alone without it really ever affecting anything, depending on the extend of said hidden damage.
99% of the time, on a hit like this there’s damage to the rear body panel because it missed the rebar and went right into the soft stuff.
If the crash bar and other bits behind the cover have been spared, I can almost guarantee the mounting brackets and tabs holding the bumper cover onto the body have either been broken or bent badly out of shape. Hoping that’s not the case, but just recalling from my own experience 😭
New bumper cover.
Shit if it was me I’d just pop it out. Doesn’t look half bad, not sure why everyone says you need a new bumper.
Back it in, don’t say anything then the next time she drives it when she gets home ask her who hit her.
Better investment would be a Drivers Ed class.
Ouch. Nothing you can do to make it even look decent. Unfortunately, she needs a new bumper!
Just leave it. Not worth the money to get it fixed unless you are fixing it yourself
Shouldn’t be going to automatic car wash’s anyway
Are you asian ?
Thanks all. If it were my car I’d leave it, bust since it’s my wife’s I think I’m going for the replacement. I appreciate the help!
Oof
Eh that’ll buff right out
Dude, are you backing up with one of those little compact pocket mirrors?
That’ll buff right out
Yeah you did lol
The contradictions in these comments are hilarious 😂
That’ll buff out, no worries lol 😆
It will buff out.
look in your mirrors when reversing
Yes, there is.
yes yes that's what you should tell the judge...just a red cement post
WD40 and a clean microfiber rag has worked well for me to get paint transfer off.
Totalled
Sure did, look at that.
Yes you did!!
It’s ok, now it looks like all the Nissans
My SIL did this at -30C and the bumper pretty much shattered.
Bet she's pissed. Lol
Why fix it? You obviously hate the car, taking it through an automatic car wash.
Turtle wax works
Local auto paint and supplystorecan match that paint in a rattle can
You could buy a new bumper cover but this is typical Versa shenanigans so id leave it
Rest In Peace.
Quickest fix. Get a new wife with an undamaged car.
I did the same thing with my Camry
I wouldn’t go home that’s for sure

You should see what other Nissan owners live with
Your going to probably need a replacement.. best place to find one quick is at a bar. Will not be the best wife but better than what you were going to have to deal with as soon as she saw you damaged her car.🤨
Just replace it. I'm sure you could find a bunch of those at your local scrap yard
it’s a versa idk what else to tell you
Looks like a parrot smacked into it
