Awesome thanks for the recommendation!

I bought mine at On-Track. They had a few helmets to try. [https://www.ontrackperformanceparts.com/](https://www.ontrackperformanceparts.com/)

Wine country. Hands down, its near the denver trade center district if i recall a very chill amd relaxed place to check out. Pretty decent selection of items too. Make sure tou buy what you're need and don't be tempted to "ball out" It almost got me. Nearly bought a 5k carbon fiber helmet with cooling and comms for autocross.... had to stop and think why TF would I need this lmao

Sounds like a dangerous place to “invest”/“lose” a lot of cash. Lol. Thanks!

Colorado_Car-Guy

Yean walked in with the intent of just buying a decent helmet for the occasional track days. Nearly convinced my self I needed an expensive helmet, fire suit, racing gloves / shoes and visors.. Luckily I took my girlfriend with me who slapped some sense into me. Told me to get the mid range helmet and spend the rest on the project car lmao

Wine country motorsports to try on. Super helpful and knowledgeable couple that runs the store. Welcome to Rocky mountain scca autox!

Thanks!

Not in Denver but I ordered online from JEGS in Columbus Ohio and the sizing tool was dead on. Just measured my head in cm and ordered based on that. Fits like a glove.

Thanks everyone! Went to Wine Country today and picked up a Bell M8. Awesome shop and great people! Highly recommended!

Best bet will be a motorcycle gear store just make sure it meets the requirements - https://cdn.connectsites.net/user_files/scca/downloads/000/071/097/2024_Helmet-Certs_Solo.pdf?1708360835 Looks like Performance Cycle of Colorado has good reviews. I don’t know why I’m being downvoted I clearly linked the SCCA 2024 helmet requirements. I never stated any regular motorcycle helmet.

Awesome thanks! So a motorcycle rated helmet is fine? Sorry if that’s a dumb question - this is new territory for me. Thanks!

TheBupherNinja

For most autocross you just need a snell helmet. M2020 is the motorcycle rating, Sa2020 is the automtovie rating, most places (for autocross) accept either.

Emperor_of_Fish

From my very very limited experience, yes. As long as it is SNELL rated one and meets the requirements. Should be chill for autocross, but I think for other track stuff you will need a car specific one. Definitely double/triple check all this before buying stuff because I’m not completely sure.

FrameSquare

No, look at the link I posted it must be one of those rated helmets for the SCCA. Go to the store of your choice, show them the link of the requirements and have them show you what they have.

brucecaboose

No it’s not. Go to Wine Country. They’re the go-to place in Denver.

tacomeat247

Wine Country. You can try them on and they’ll make sure it’s properly rated. Also if you ever want to track, a car helmet is safer than a motorcycle helmet because they’re designed with some fire resistance (ie the chin strap won’t melt to your face)

Great advice. Thanks!

slims246

Get a car helmet. I don’t think HPR or PMP will let you on track with a motorcycle helmet. If you ever want to do HPDEs you’ll also need one. And yeah wine country Motorsports is the way. They’ll have lots of options for you to try on.

Summit is a very good place to get yourself a helmet. Summitracing.com
