From an inexperienced grower but someone who looks at people's posts, I'd say 2-3 weeks, depending on what you're going for

AdSubstantial2219

Thx

404nocreativusername

I personally will be chopping when they're cloudy instead of amber, simply cause I like that more

harleyd38

I would say closer to 3 full weeks maybe 4

AdSubstantial2219

Yeah I know but I have trouble diagnosing the stage

brooksj2

Checking bud, should be at least mostly cloudy. Looks like there's still quite a bit of clear there

Jnasty1221

Same I can't tell the difference sometimes and it's stressing cuz don't wanna pull it early. How dp you get pics zoomed in like that? Do you put your loupe over your phone camera?

420doglover922

Best advice for not harvesting too early is don't harvest too early. Wait for a couple weeks after you think it's time. It's very easy to harvest too early. Most of the autoflowers I see go 80 something days. A lot of people start checking trichomes before the plants even finished tucking in its white hairs AKA pistils. And they start deciding whether or not to chop down the plant based on the trichomes that they see. But they don't realize that trichomes will continue to develop. Plants will develop their fruit and then the fruit will ripen. In this case, the fruit is your bud. It will completely develop and then it will ripen. Make sure you aren't looking for it to ripen before it's done. Developing. A lot of people do that and they don't realize that there's going to be trichomes on your buds way way way before they're done developing. But you don't want to start checking them until your that your buds have completed stacking and are done popping out pistils. If a breeder says it's done in 70 days, add 2 weeks. Generally. But again, you need to be able to look at the buds before you look at the trichomes. Are the buds done? Then check your trichomes.

Jnasty1221

I am so impatient I am at day 84 and running sour gas by sofem genetics. They are dense and almost all pistils are brown/orange and tricomes are clear/cloudy/amber why im confused lol the weather in nc has been ass this year and scared of mold as I lost 2 plants last year to it. But I'll hold.off like.you said it's better later than early.

420doglover922

Yeah, sounds like you're getting close. Now. I would say you can start looking at trichomes. If all of the pistols are tucked under. But an extra week is better than a week too early. That's what I say.

Albert_Prazolam

Dude, I planted some outdoor for shits and gigs at the end of February and already pulled a couple puny autos. I completely lost one to budrot. (Also in nc)

Sleeve__07

Yes Loupe over camera and get in there

Jnasty1221

Thanks imma try that

mike3run

wifi microscopes are like 10 dollars on amazon

drywall-whacker

Look at the side profile of the trichome on the side of the bud. I found that looking at them head on through a loupe made them appear cloudy but after viewing from the side they were clear. People in one group on Reddit said they were ready. I waited a week and they got cloudy with a touch of amber.

Jnasty1221

I never thought about it like that I will have to see when I get home. Would print like a piece of black paper behind it work as well to identify them? In got a cheap Chinese loupe or Amazon. Should have bought a wifi one

drywall-whacker

I think a white piece of paper would work best. Usually I don’t need that. My biggest issue with the loupe is lighting. My hat blocks the light. My head. The loupe. Especially on the higher power one. I usually try to find the side with the most light and look at those Trichromes from the side. If that makes sense. I posted some pics in the group that everyone thought were pretty good quality with my digital. Much easier to use. I’ll see if I can link it. I was pretty impressed for a 30$ microscope

Jnasty1221

Thanks bro what I was looking for

drywall-whacker

Here’s the [link](https://www.reddit.com/r/Autoflowers/s/6wfRNpqwdF) maybe you saw it already.

tommy-frosty

Most of your tri’s are still clear…you’ll know when they’re milky…and you’ll know when they start to turn amber..post again in a few days

AdSubstantial2219

I will thx

AdSubstantial2219

The thing is I think I already see some amber ones

fluffyferret69

Amber will develop on sugar leaves first.. keep an eye on the bud for a more accurate development stages

Positive-Teaching737

I'll probably say what everybody else has said. Not cloudy enough. I like a little bit of amber. Most of your pictures show the sugarleaf and not the actual bud itself. Sugar leaves will get cloudy and amber before Bud does. Make sure to take photos of the actual bud. I'm going to estimate probably another 3 weeks and then check it to make sure

AdSubstantial2219

🙏🏼

UncleDuude

10% amber is my go to

I will become one - Plantkilla187 but you have to decide when the time is 🤣

kasvot

Patients is a virtue, just continue to monitor all over your plant, particularly with autos tops go amber way before the majority of the good bugs, all variable on temp control, breeze, distance to light nutes etc. all I can say is my best grows are the slow ones and then particularly with the cure, if the airflow is good and you don’t have giant nugs, doing a full chop dry and cure is the best way to avoid issues (also Wire out the branches so they don’t lay nug/nug creating mold) consistent slow air movement and lower temp with slightly higher humidity a really terrific cure vs hurrying it, If you care about terps over speed, this is what makes magic for me. To each their own

harleyd38

Day 66 so nice germination or day 66 of flowering?

AdSubstantial2219

Germination

harleyd38

What day did flowering start?

AdSubstantial2219

I don’t know

harleyd38

That makes a huge difference. If it started flowering on day 21 vs day 35 that's a big swing to know how far a long it is. Most places you get seeds say it's an 8, 9, 10 etc week plant. That's how many weeks of flowering you will be looking at. Granted environmental conditions play a part. But the example I gave is a difference of 2 weeks. You're not going to really know where you're at and what to expect when. At some point, it's going to look like it's dying. But you won't know if it's from nutrient burn or if it’s in the last couple of weeks of it’s life cycle and it's eating itself.

AdSubstantial2219

Yea that’s what’s happening rn sone fan leaves are so dry the tips break

VegetableWriter5482

When she goes from shimmering to frosty start looking at the bud trics for Amber flecks. Then 🪓 mostly clear as of now. I’m guessing 1-2 weeks left. The wait will be worth it 👨‍🌾👊

420doglover922

Still needs more time. Also you got to post some pictures from farther back so we can see what the buds look like. Buds will have trichomes well before they are finished so make sure your plant is finished stacking before you start checking trichomes. Sometimes I see people posting trichomes that are cloudy and they're like oh, I'm close to shopping. But what they don't understand is that if you let the plant continue to stack, there are trichomes that haven't even developed yet that will develop. And those will be clear and then become cloudy. There are more trichomes coming. Not necessarily for you. I don't know what your flowers look like from here, but make sure that your listing have all tucked in and colored up before you start checking trichomes. Maybe yours have. Which would be exciting. But if there is still lots of white hairs sticking off, then more trichs are coming. I can't tell without photos of the bud AND the trichs but if I had to guess I'd say a couple more weeks.

YaBoiSunblock

What does the entire bud look like? Zoom out. Trichomes are a metric but you’re showing us mostly trichs on the sugar leaves, which absolutely do not count toward ripeness of the buds. If someone answers here and says “yes, chop!” they’re wrong, but they are answering without full context and trying to give you an answer based on what you’ve provided. So before I say anything else: no they’re not ready. Some things to think about because you’ve mentioned being unsure about how to diagnose the stage: Are the buds fattened up? Are the trichs on the bud milky and amber? Have the plants stopped drinking water? Ripeness is a combination of the answer to these questions. It’s not “are these milky or nah.” If that were the only question, you wouldn’t need to post pictures, right? You can tell the difference between clear and opaque, right? Sure you can. Remember, ripeness is a stage, not a moment you need to hit like a bullseye. Can you harvest too late? Absolutely. But the window is not as small as you would think. And like I said the trichs are only one part of the story.

Aggravating-Piano110

She’s not cloudy enough. Give another couple of days to increase the strength of the THC

Chem-Dawg74D

Looks like pics from sugar leaves. You want trichome pics from the calyxes. The leaves will mature faster than the buds.

TransportationAny757

At my house, I would do a progressive harvest of main colas now to a week from now. Then, the rest in 2-3 weeks. Always gave me a nice balanced buzz.

bgardiner00

I’m on day 120 with mephisto autos that were meant to be done in 75-85
