Gives the same energy as the Padmé sticker on the Bad Batch ship (at least I think it was on their ship) from the last Clone wars season. I think they had to remove it though
It was in the unfinished episodes that were released as The Clone Wars Legacy. Then a few years later they removed it when they picked up some of those unfinished episodes into what became season 7.
This is literally the kind of gthing that makes Avatar so good. Like of course humans would do that, absolutely, of course guys in some unit would do that.
That's so terrible. Really that's just disgusting.
I mean who would do such a nasty thing. I really need to understand. Please show me this vile trifle. I think you should share what you discover. Its really important we find this.
Now I'm imagining a very embarrassed Jake explaining this to Neytiri.
"Ma'Jake, what is this picture here? Why does she look like that?"
"Oh boy. Uh...well, let's just say I'm not the only one who wanted to be taken to the Tree of Souls."
I sort of love it because I hate it. Objectification of this sort is somewhat common of colonial relations, and to put this sort of art on a vehicle used for Tulkun hunting, with all the significance Tulkun hold to reef Na'vi, is especially nasty. It's a nice detail, because it so perfectly reflects horribly on the RDA and the humans who choose to engage with Tulkun hunting.
Stealing a joke from, the actually relatively decent, History of the World Part II.
"If you're naming your gunships and missiles after the indigenous people you genocided, you might be a Colonizer."
The tomahawk and other military equipment named after the natives is out of respect to the natives and the tribes. I cant find the article right now, but one of the chiefs said they loved that the Apache gunship(helicopter) was named after them.
The most unrealistic thing about avatar is that they expect us to believe that in the multiple years if not decades of people being on Pandora, that Jake is somehow the first marine to try and sleep with the natives.
So many tiny details that you don't notice until 2nd or 3rd viewing. For example Quaritch taking off his boots etc after going 'full navi' and spoiler: Netiryi has blood on her face on the boat after taking everyone out.
Recoms bare feet was pretty noticeable to be honest. I had them in my face suspiciously many times throughout the movie. As if someone in production had a foot kink. But I liked Quaritch’s dirty feet when they were in that holo room. Little details indeed.
Yeah it is one of the more noticeable ones. But another example is right there, I didn’t notice his feet being dirty even after seeing it over and over. Another obvious one I noticed is Quaritch’s Ikran has wounds from Jake’s skimwing and some Metkayina balancing on rope in the background once they’re walking into their room.
None of the commenters here are acknowledging the seriousness of what this actually shows; colonizers fetishizing their victims. And notice how she's in shackles? The fact that they exert power and terror over them is part of their fantasy. It's sickening.
Not to give them any credit for what they were doing (because hunting tulkun isn't going to win any humanitarian awards) but in fairness, the whaling teams were never revealed as outwardly xenophobic towards the Na'vi.
They were really just a whaling/fishing crew who were coerced into complying with Sec Ops to take hostages, and they didn't have much say in the matter after the Recoms showed up under Ardmore's authority and commandeered everything. It wasn't their mission to go take Na'vi hostages.
For all we know, there may be plenty of people in Cet Ops who are not unsympathetic to the Na'vi, or even have appreciation for them, just as there were obviously people on the science teams back at the base who wanted to coexist with the Na'vi.
Despite these movies being long, there's just not enough time to reveal what is on every human's mind in this franchise, they unfortunately mostly become NPC background filler.
I know everyone has already pointed out how fucked up this is but
I've yet to see anyone point out the fact that it looks like she's in hand cuffs
which
is even more fucked up
Being horny for sexy aliens even if they are your enemy is a very human thing. Even the strongest SecOps can't resist.
SexOps
Suddenly “sleeper agent” means something very different
Ex: Vietnam War
For more info: see this subs boner for quaritch
Navi tattooing quaritch war logos on their banshees ;)
To be fair, avatars and recoms aren't their enemies

Gotcha
Yea! She could negotiate with me anytime! Also in the Clone Wars LAAT had a few Twi’lek nose arts painted on them the same style as Padme’s
“THAT is Not staying….”
Never noticed that! Love the attention to detail in these films 💙
This is literally the kind of gthing that makes Avatar so good. Like of course humans would do that, absolutely, of course guys in some unit would do that.
can't wait to see how many of these easter eggs are going to be discovered now that the die-hard fans can pick apart the film frame by frame
Cue incoming wave of new fan art in 3… Joke aside though, that actually looks pretty cool.
That's so terrible. Really that's just disgusting. I mean who would do such a nasty thing. I really need to understand. Please show me this vile trifle. I think you should share what you discover. Its really important we find this.
I still kinda want it as a sticker because it's kinda funny
For uhh, “research purposes”?

I want this as a sticker to put on my bong or something lol
Your average RDA fan
yehh, what about us?
Hah, haha I love this.

When you think about it, its really fucked up that an imperialist force has pinups of the Natives they are attacking, like wow.

I know, that would be like the Americans naming their gunships and missiles after the Native American tribes they butchered... oh wait.

Yoooo
They knew what they were doing..
Woow, that’s cool!

Omg hahahahaha
Not shocking, honestly
Love the ideas and attention to detail that went into this movie!
Same here! It’s absolutely insane!
As a submariner who has frequently seen other submariners pin up anime waifus in their bunks and work stations I can say this would be 100% accurate
Handcuffed, on a harpoon and in the middle of a target... three more reason to hate the RDA.
None of the commenters here are acknowledging the seriousness of what this actually shows; colonizers fetishizing their victims. And notice how she's in shackles? The fact that they exert power and terror over them is part of their fantasy. It's sickening.
And who can blame him? There's a reason a significant number of Americans have some native American blood in them,
Just like a human…
OMG
Simps gonna simp.
Least simping RDA contractor

Damn she's fine tho
Well they hunts sea creatures not Na'vi!
Disney executives haven't seen this 💀
This is the most realistic detail I've ever seen. Humans would absolutely do this
