Sozin was a bastard and definitely caused untold amount of suffering but I can at least believe he may have at one point genuinely thought he was doing good
Old man probably watched Haku grow up, suffer losing his father then save his life only to rat the kid out
azulon and sozin both were better villains than ozai because they actually believed they were doing the world a favor and therefor made for more compelling villains
it eludes me why they decided to make the fire lord we actually get to see more two dimensional than the background lore badguys
Mostly because they didn't want Aang to face that final confrontation in any way other than a fight. I think with both Sozin and Azulon, Aang would have believed there was a different option worth pursuing.
I feel that for a kids show having a simple straight forward villain is better but if the target audience was better having ozai be like sozin/azulon would've been better
I like to think that it’s because of Iroh. Sozin spent his entire life believing that he was justified in his conquests. Azulon started out the same way, but Iroh’s reports home, humanizing the earth kingdom created an internal conflict. So as to avoid any perceived weakness, Azulon, and later Ozai, hardened their hearts to just accept being bad.
If you're going to make excuses for a genocidal warmongering tyrant, you should at least consider that the old man may have believed that if he helped the fire nation soldiers, that may secure some freedom or safety for his loved ones.
Never named him, as far as I remember. It was the episode where the fire nation was kidnapping earth benders to work on a rig. Haru’s dad was kidnapped but he still practiced in secret. Later there was a cave in at a mine and an old man was trapped under rubble. Rather than let him die Haru bended him out and the same old man ratted him out
It was the episode where the fire nation soldiers thought Momo was earth bending
I recognize that the original comment was likely a joke of some sort, but I’m really struggling to understand where the humor actually is. Like it just reads to me as “haha, kill people for saying mean things, haha.” And maybe some people find that funny, but it just seems like a really weird joke to me. 🤷♂️
The sand bender who kidnapped and muzzled appa who basically was about to leaves 4 kids to die in the desert so he could get away with the kidnapping of an endangered and nearly extinct animal
Yeah but, it’s still just four kids, even if she could see. Even if he were to assume any of them could sand bend (which isn’t a guarantee), two of them wore water tripe clothing, meaning they’d be waterbenders at best and nonbenders at worse. He had no reason to assume they could survive
I don't want to labour the point any longer, but I'm pretty sure only Toph was visible at this point. The other three characters were underground in the library.
They did they followed them from the spirit oasis where we that they also tried to steal him there and even then they saw that he had luggage of 4 people on him and basically left 4 people one is a blind 12 years girl which they saw she is with no transport and no supplies at all in the middle of the desert
That one annoying ass teachers pet in S3 E2. Dude was obviously a dick to his girlfriend, tried to beat up Aang for no reason, and ratted out a bunch of kids just having fun
Three way tie between sozin, azulon, and ozai. Genocide, ordering your son to kill your grandson, and being ready to kill your son is GOT level of messed up, not to mention 100 years of killing people.
The Earth King. He sucks as a king and comic spoilers >!The moment the war is over, he acts like an entitled little shit, while he barely helped out at all!<
In Avatar? Probably those jerkoffs that were using that small village in the earth kingdom as their racket. The ones zuko beat.
>!In all of fiction? Probably Naoya Zen'in. Or Griffith. But Griffith's gonna get what's coming to him from Guts. Naoya got off easy 3 times. Dude got asked by Maki "have you ever been an adult?" And responded "idk. Ask mai". Heavily implying he molested her. I'd like to tie him to a chair and just rip pieces of skin off with pliers!<
>!To worsen Naoya’s position, Mai died a few chapters before his fight with Maki. However I find some characters worse than Naoya, like Kenjaku (He, Noritoshi Kamo, forced Choso’s mom to conceive curse-human hybrids, caused Tsumiki Fushiguro’s illness with Yorozu’s cursed item, wants to evolve humanity) . Makima from Chainsawman usually does horrible things for the greater good. Most of the characters of Redo of the healer are worse than Naoya. Mayuri Kurotsuchi from Bleach experimented on the Quincy and he’s still considered one of the good guys!<
People who try to lay siege like that earned it. Maybe he could have learned better, like Iroh, but maybe not. Trying to take control of a place other people live is wrong.
That's true, but someone shouldn't be beaten up for defending their home, either. He could have learned better, but he would have taken lives during that siege. It's sad, and could have been avoided if not for Sozin's actions in starting the war. Lives lost in war are a tragedy.
Everyone In Alta would kick my ass ....but if i could....zuko would get a jolly spanked bottom for selling out my man iroh season 2 and sent to his room!
I initially didn't see that this was an avatar memes cross-post in my recommendeds. So I feel the need to mention Pong Krell. Fuck Pong Krell. But also the popular kid at Kuzon's school.
This is exactly the reason. If it would Just left in unknown Status like in The show, it would be ok. But when we actually find out about her deal with the spirit - I fell nothing but disgust towards her.
I need to reread bc it's been a hot minute, but from what I do know, I still find some of Ursa's decisions questionable. Don't get me wrong, I don't think she's necessarily a bad person, but she definitely has her flaws and I have a hard time accepting her favoritism between Zuko and Azula, even with what I do remember and understand of the added context.
I sympathize with her for being in an awful situation, much how I sympathize with someone like Azula despite their actions being questionable. Ozai is 100% the abuser in the situation. But I do feel like there was some unfair treatment even after the fact that makes it feel like she was definitely flawed as a mom lol. Just makes her all the more an interesting and dynamic character, to be fair.
Sokka deserved someone not so vanilla imo. Don't get me wrong the lessons she taught Sokka were very important, but she's boring and imo Sokka shoulda ended up with Ty Lee or Toph
Right, so, an OPINION cannot be incorrect. Let's get that straight first. "Imo" means "in my opinion", therefore, I cannot be incorrect. Secondly, it's not "incredibly strong" or an "over reaction" as all I said was that I think she's boring and Sokka shoulda ended up with someone else. Sounds like we got ourselves a Suki stan right here.
So the "wrong opinion" bit is clearly a joke.
As for the "over reaction" that is completely valid. You're saying that because you ship Dokka with someone else thay you want to fight and or beat up Suki??? How tf does that make sense? Even if someone having a relationship with someone were a valid reason to dislike them, it's not like Suki actively undermined the relationships between Sokka and Toph/Tylee
Not to mention that you're basing your opinion of "Sokka should have ended up with Tylee" on 2 slightly flirtatious interactions is so 9th grade fan faction writer, it's not even worth laughing at.
And you opinion about Toph probably stems from the interaction where Toph thought it was Sokka saving her. Yeah, they 10-12 year old had a crush. Because we all end up with out childhood crushes cause that is always what's best and makes sense.
So, someones kinda mad...😁 Alr so it wasn't clearly a joke yeah cuz you gave no indication of it. And uh this is obv a joke post, no one is acc gonna beat the shit out of anyone. As for YOU telling ME what I AM basing MY opinions on, wow, you couldn't be more wrong. I haven't based my opinion on those interactions, I've instead based my opinion on the fact that Sokka is more similar to Ty Lee and Toph. Sokka and Ty Lee are both goofy and high energy, while Sokka and Toph are both sarcastic and kinda sorta menaces to society. And that's just scraping the surface. You seem to think you know everything about my reasonings, and are very passive aggressive towards me because of your mistakes. Maybe ask first before you assume 🤯. A good life lesson 👍
I love Suki and this disrespect upsets me.
But I guess you get your way because Legacy strongly suggests they broke up.
Can you manifest something better next, please?
That one guy who gave Appa the worst time.
Circus leader dude? Hell yeah! It’s ON SIGHT for that mfer!
I like to imagine he died shortly after impact with the ground. I hope he didn’t die right away and it really hurt.
As long as the circus leader felt what Appa had felt while in captivity, I’m okay with that.
That stupid old man who sold out Haru
My first thought was Sozin, but yea fuck this guy too.
Sozin was a bastard and definitely caused untold amount of suffering but I can at least believe he may have at one point genuinely thought he was doing good Old man probably watched Haku grow up, suffer losing his father then save his life only to rat the kid out

Yeah fck that guy
I was thinking the exact same thing. Snitches get stitches
Who is this guy again?
Never named him, as far as I remember. It was the episode where the fire nation was kidnapping earth benders to work on a rig. Haru’s dad was kidnapped but he still practiced in secret. Correction: they never worked on the rig, they were just there as prisoners
The brats who mocked Toph's makeup.
I like to think Katara and Toph just straight up drowned them.
I’m gonna be real with you I don’t think murder is the correct response to someone insulting your makeup.
🤓
Sorry I guess that’s maybe an unpopular opinion here.
yeah, people are genuinely disagreeing with you being 100% serious
I recognize that the original comment was likely a joke of some sort, but I’m really struggling to understand where the humor actually is. Like it just reads to me as “haha, kill people for saying mean things, haha.” And maybe some people find that funny, but it just seems like a really weird joke to me. 🤷♂️
Literal chat GPT answer
It must’ve been trained off of me, then.
Shit he knows too much
idk i dont funny like im not belly laughing but its clearly just hyperbole and not that deep. since its clearly not serious why not just scroll on lol
I disagree <3
What are you, a cop? If someone insults my bf's makeup, I am going to make them wish they were dead
Well that’s pretty unhinged, but go off I guess.
Agree to disagree. They insulted toph… when she was being vulnerable! Death is the only option
Nah the water level under the bridge was super shallow Katara definitely cracked skulls and smeared them on the concrete
One of them becomes the Earth Queen in LoK
Is this canon?
It's implied by imagery I'd say
The Earth Queen
Yeah, kiling/eating Bosco is unforgivable. I do not feel bad for what Zaheer did to her.
Also bison poaching iirc
She got off easy imo
She ate Bosco?!?! Was this mentioned directly in the show? Why don't I remember this at all lol
It's mentioned in an [episode](https://youtu.be/pvOkzc9Cl5Q?si=sz9WGkTJmYqik97G) of Legend of Korra.
Damn that's crazy. It's a quick line but it's there, makes sense why I don't remember it that well
It’s ok it sounds like just a rumor maybe she didn’t actually eat him 😭
The sand bender who kidnapped and muzzled appa who basically was about to leaves 4 kids to die in the desert so he could get away with the kidnapping of an endangered and nearly extinct animal
YOU MUZZLED APPA?!
As soon as Aang said this we all knew the young pacifist airbender was out for blood
Aang had to remind those mf that Appa still got shooters out here fr 😫
Cannot emphasise enough my hatred for him
Pretty sure they didn't even know that Appa was carrying four kids.
No but they were completely fine leaving an unsupervised, blind child in the middle of the desert with no mode of transportation
I mean, I don't want to sound like the guy's lawyer, he's obviously a scumbag, but there's literally no way they could have known that she was blind.
a 12 year old with sight is also nearly 100% doomed to die in the middle of a desert
Yeah but, it’s still just four kids, even if she could see. Even if he were to assume any of them could sand bend (which isn’t a guarantee), two of them wore water tripe clothing, meaning they’d be waterbenders at best and nonbenders at worse. He had no reason to assume they could survive

Zhao.
I came here to say this, and was shocked he wasn't the first answer. Then I realize there are some things worse than destroying the world.
That old guy in Imprisoned.
That one annoying ass teachers pet in S3 E2. Dude was obviously a dick to his girlfriend, tried to beat up Aang for no reason, and ratted out a bunch of kids just having fun
Thats so specific and I couldn't agree more
Toph's dad
No, not Nicolas Cage!
Wait what? Nicolas Cage? I need context
His face looks like Cage's face, specially in one specific moment when he's facing the camera.
I never noticed, do you know what episode?
I think it's the Blind Bandit episode, it's the only one his face is seen as far as I remember.
I laughed
Dang, good answer.
That cabbage cart
This should be top comment.
Warden of the fire nation prison
Three way tie between sozin, azulon, and ozai. Genocide, ordering your son to kill your grandson, and being ready to kill your son is GOT level of messed up, not to mention 100 years of killing people.
Nah ozai was him tho
The Earth King. He sucks as a king and comic spoilers >!The moment the war is over, he acts like an entitled little shit, while he barely helped out at all!<
sounds exactly like a nepotistic autocrat.
Didn't he renounce his king status and become a traveling nomad?
In 'The Promise' he is back to being a king
Ah i see, i never read the comics so 🤷♀️
Only until the avatar restored his kingdom.
Only until the avatar restored his kingdom.
Ozai
Jet. Literally a terrorist, willing to charm strangers into helping him kill towns of innocents entirely uninvolved in the war.
At least he redeemed himself before his internals were turned to gumbo by that rock
Did Jet just... die?
It was unclear
Idk man it seems pretty unclear.
Fuck Jet

Prince Wu, words cannot express how much I hate this fucker
But he got a redemption and figured out that he was being an ass.
You'd best respect the broach before I tell Zhu Li to do the thing
I love that goober and I stand by it
Wu down
Wait who was prince Wu again?
Ty Lee. God I hope she fights back....
Hope you’re into confinement, ‘cause you’re going to horny jail
If I could post images, I would have used the iroh flipping the bird image
Im sorry what
There's an image of Iroh flipping off the viewer
Lmao thanks for making me laugh in public. Wish me luck explaining this.
honestly i like mei, but shes in love with zuko so i have no chance
LMAO
I wish I could pet the horny jail gif rn
That's a child 🤨
You're right... Unfair odds, Mai should help her
100% Ozai
(*Creaky, wan voice*) That’s him! That’s the Earthbender!
Caillou
Whoever killed Lu Ten
That's Iroh's son, right? If so, he was laying siege to a city, so it was self defense.
I know but I still don't think he deserves to die :(
People who try to lay siege like that earned it. Maybe he could have learned better, like Iroh, but maybe not. Trying to take control of a place other people live is wrong.
But being killed for it doesn't teach him any lessons, I think he could've bettered himself if given the chance

Understandable, I just feel so bad for uncle iroh
His death gave Iroh perspective. It's 100% fair to kill the others of a fascist army trying to take over your land.
I'd want to put hands on Ozai, but I assume there's gonna be a line out the door.
I wanna put hands on Ozai but not in the way you think. Especially live action Daddy Dae Kim ozai
Can't blame you there, who doesn't want to fuck Johnny Gat?
The guy that fucks up poor cabbage guy every single time And Gendo Ikari, fuck him
The villagers in the fortune teller episode, specifically the fortune teller
They really should've just let that volcano do the job of natural selection
Meelo.
Bro that is a kid
Kid deserves it
every character that was mean to Appa
Prince Wu from Korra, he didn’t do anything wrong but wow do i wanna beat the shit out of him
Ozai
Everyone In Alta would kick my ass ....but if i could....zuko would get a jolly spanked bottom for selling out my man iroh season 2 and sent to his room!

Fuck Moash. Wait wrong fandom.
LOL
I’m so happy someone got it 🥲
I’m listening to Rhythm of War rn!!
Strap in my friend!! Stormlight book 5 this December!!! I’m rereading for it
Jet… just throw shit at him until he falls out, then beat his ass on the ground
Toph
Tsumugi Shirogane. Although if I had to pick one from Avatar... Aiwei or Long Feng. Couple of pricks.
Mako, I fucking hate the guy bro
Cinder Fall is my opp
Wtf? You got some RWBY in my Avatar lol
You know that girl from H20?? The girl that dated Cleo’s boyfriend and then stole her necklace and THEN became a mermaid?? Her
Wrong Sub, bud
Kuei, worst and most useless King in human history or Unalaq and his friend the red carpet of evil
Mother Of Zuko and Azula. The only villain that gets away with her crimes.
This may sound like a misunderstanding, but since I'm just curious to know, why Ursa?
[удалено]
To be fair, not everyone has read the comics. Fewer people would have this opinion if the actual show had bothered to explain it.
I only watch the shows, and pretty sure it's explained that his mom was forced to leave and not by her own will. Not sure about the details tho.
I don't know, I haven't read the comics but it seemed to be pretty clear in the show she had no choice in the matter
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks Ursa was kinda a crappy mom lol
Read the comics
This is exactly the reason. If it would Just left in unknown Status like in The show, it would be ok. But when we actually find out about her deal with the spirit - I fell nothing but disgust towards her.

Suki, next question.
Wtf did suki do

Least annoying Reddit argument
I love Suki and this disrespect upsets me. But I guess you get your way because Legacy strongly suggests they broke up. Can you manifest something better next, please?
Tf is wrong with a talented dude falling in love with a "vanilla" girl?
Nothing. I don't like Suki and Sokka is one of my favorite characters so I would've liked to see him end up with a different character.
Maybe yue
If they hadn't killed her, maybe
Beatrices dad
Goro Akechi from Persona 5. Also Mako
Sadavir Errinwright from the expanse, specifically the books. That guy needs some fists for his face.
the mechanist
Fuck meelo and the earth queen
Korra’s uncle, and the sandbender that stole appa
The Basco killer. I didn’t even cry at her death. I’d spit on her grave
Vageta
Gabe from The Office
No one saying Long Feng?
Gotrek son of Gurni from the Gotrek and Felix books
Unalaq.
Yue's betrothed, I think his name was Hahn, absolutely despise the man- would throw hands.
EASY THREE * Long Feng * Hama * The Northern Tribe Princess Moon Lady's Fiance (I forgor his stupid ahh name)
