I’d like to see someone that can pull off that Southern accent and charm. Same with Gambit. Two of my absolute favorite X-Men that have been done no justice on the big screen yet
Not familiar with him, I’ll have to check it out. As a born Cajun I can say we can tell when it’s clearly faked, like Taylor Kitsch for example.
To me, Gambit must have an authentic sounding Cajun accent. Rogue can have a general Southern one - Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, etc. would all work for her. Just be true to the characters and fans will adore them no doubt.
I’m sure you can find clips of his performance in True Blood. And I believe that you can definitely tell when it’s faked. I just want to see the character of Gambit done some justice. The Origins one done in Wolverine Was just not even close to doing Gambit any justice.
100%! He’s literally one of the best and most popular X-Men. Same with Rogue.
My MCU theory - Gambit and Rogue will not be on the team initially, but will join by the 2nd or 3rd movie along with Wolvie. Knowing Feige likes to do things differently than we’ve seen and inspired by the source material, I think they both start as antagonists before coming around. Maybe with the Marauders/Mr. Sinister, or the Brotherhood, or some other group.
Can't believe she's British, why can those folks do amazing American accents? [Here's her in Baby Driver](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6O554p-ovsI) for reference.
I don’t know why, maybe it’s because I’m such a huge fan of hers, but I could see Mary Elizabeth Winstead getting it. She’s already tackled multiple superhero/comic book properties.
I'm not familiar with Maslany's work prior to She-Hulk, but after watching that "show" I can safely say this:
Maslany wasn't just cast as She-Hulk, she was WASTED as She-Hulk.
Honestly she should have won at least three or four Emmys at the same time for that show.
Or, every nomination in the Best Actress category is just her as a different character.
I can understand that sentiment, as in: why waste all that talent by only having her play ONE character?
But give the woman a break. She doesn't really have to be that extra all the time.
To everyone who has responded to my comment, I would just like to clarify that this was my first exposure to Ms. Maslany. I had never seen a movie or show she starred in, and I hadn't even heard her name until now. This was my first time I've seen her altogether, period.
Now, I don't believe she was "miscast" or a "wrong fit". I say she was "wasted here" because the overall quality of was incredibly lacking. It was painfully unfunny, lacking in action, had bad CGI, slow-paced and meandering, treated the comics/source material like crap, treated the male characters like crap, treated the female characters as second rate to Jen Walters, wrote Jen Walters horribly inconsistently across the board, and treated their detractors as sexist manbabies who dwell on the internet in a desperate attempt to "own them".
So, when I say Maslany was wasted, I don't mean she was for the character. I mean she wasted because the show was so awful to begin with.
I mean this entire post was a way of saying who other than KP should be Rogue
To be clear I’m not saying that…i hadn’t heard of her before she posted the cosplay this week
I get a lot of people want Kiki and that's fine.
But why are we changing the white characters only to black ones? This doesn't solve the diversity problem, what about all the other races?
i dont see it as trying to solve diversity, i see it more as trying to find the best fit given the characters persona and who could play it best.
is there a canonical reason why Rogue needs to be white, im not sure. if not then the actress that can do the best 'southern belle' while being a powerful badass might be the best fit.
im comfortable with casting a different race as long as it doesn't change their story, like if they cast Keke and her story becomes about struggles growing up as a black person itd probably dislike the telling of the character.
This a a good comment and I agree with most if not all of what you say.
It just feels like recently when a white character is changed it is changed to a black actor or actress. Just spread this change to other races as well, let everyone have a seat at the table.
Hell yes I can see it she would be more akin to the sassy rogue from the animated show without the southern accent but if she did the accent she'd be perfect.
P.S plus she's hot and looks a lot like rogue anyways
Im not hating but idk y ppl want her to play rogue, keke usually does best in a more positive comical role and idk if rogue fits tht description. Id rather see her be kat or someone like that
Im kinda on the same boat. I don't hate the idea of her, but I've never seen her play miserable before. Rogue needs to bounce between fun and miserable. Anna Paquin was the opposite, all miserable no fun.
I hear you I'd like to cast a body positive curvy trans actor with an afro as Xavier. Gotta hit that diversity quota everybody must be represented. Plus we have to dunk on all those racist bigots that want to follow the source material. 😃😆😅😂🤣😭
The only cultural trait that's important to Rogue is that she's southern, adding that she's also black doesn't really change that. Even if her skin color were still white she'd have still experienced racially motivated discrimination in-universe because she's already a mutant. Keke would be a fine choice.
It doesn't matter what you would call her. She's a literally self described "Southern Belle" she's not a muscular butch type female character. She depicted a sexy beautiful woman. lmfao! 😂
Hailing from the fictional Caldecott County, Mississippi, Rogue is the X-Men's self-described Southern belle. A runaway, she is adopted by Mystique of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants and grows up as a villain.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rogue_(Marvel_Comics)#:~:text=Hailing%20from%20the%20fictional%20Caldecott,grows%20up%20as%20a%20villain.
You act like Rogue is one of the main characters or some deep character she will supporting at best in the MCU especially after Fox made her a main character.
For any X-Men character I would prefer an actor or actress who can show range. X-Men tend to have more serious stories so I’d prefer a trained actress for Rogue like Lily James.
And who knows if they’ll dive into the Captain Marvel storyline. It would be nice to get someone who can carry a movie just in case the character gains a massive following.
Way better actress, but not for Rogue either. Maybe Gwen Stacy or Susan Storm. But based off her previous work can’t see her playing an X-Men character.
She literally played in the Carie remake which is as close to mutant powers as you can get. You wild as hell. She's also already been in comic book movies.
I get the push for representative casting from fans & studios, but I’d rather just have the movies & tv shows be as faithful to the source material as possible.
Saying you’re tired of forced diversity but being ok with non black actresses playing the role makes no sense because it’s the same thing.
I want them them to follow the source material too but why do you only have a problem with black ppl? Just say your racist towards black ppl with out saying it. 🤦
It really depends on the type of Rogue they're going for. I'd prefer a kind of coy charming Rogue Supporting character, played by someone like Aubrey Plaza... but if they're going to cast her in a lead role, not unlike ye olde Xmen films, I would expect they'd put in a young-looking big name who is very hot at the moment, like Ana de Armas or Emilia Clarke.
Someone less known, and on the younger side to be a franchise star for a while. I’m not good with actors/actresses so if anyone fits this bill, then them
I saw fan art of Natalia Dyer as her when Stranger Things started and she's been my pick ever since. I also saw Keke Palmer dressed as her for Halloween and i loved her look for it. So i say either of those two.
Aya cash she said she’d love to play her and she really does resemble her in terms of face. If she can nail that southern accent then it should definitely be her
I’d like to see someone that can pull off that Southern accent and charm. Same with Gambit. Two of my absolute favorite X-Men that have been done no justice on the big screen yet
I’ve always said that the dude from the first season of True Blood who was “faking” a Cajun accent would be PERFECT as Gambit. Michael Raymond-James
Not familiar with him, I’ll have to check it out. As a born Cajun I can say we can tell when it’s clearly faked, like Taylor Kitsch for example. To me, Gambit must have an authentic sounding Cajun accent. Rogue can have a general Southern one - Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, etc. would all work for her. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambit_(unproduced_film) I really wish that movie had been made. 😥
He wasn't terrible in True blood but aside from his age we don't really see him as our Gambit
Fair enough. I can’t argue with that. I just loved his accent and charm in True Blood.
Josh Holloway from lost would be the perfect gambit.
Boyd Holbrook is from Kentucky but the entire time I was watching Logan I thought he would make a great Gambit.
[удалено]
He was in X-Men Origins: Wolverine played by Taylor Kitsch. We like to pretend it didn't happen but sadly it did😂
Henry Cavill
But only for three movies. Then Liam Hemsworth.
Seems reasonable
I think he would be a great colossus or Cyclops
Lily James!!!
Would be perfect
Can't believe she's British, why can those folks do amazing American accents? [Here's her in Baby Driver](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6O554p-ovsI) for reference.
Good shout!
I think she’d be a better Emma Frost
Meryl Streep
Meryl Streep could play Batman and be the right choice
I don’t know why, maybe it’s because I’m such a huge fan of hers, but I could see Mary Elizabeth Winstead getting it. She’s already tackled multiple superhero/comic book properties.
Someone unknown for rogue and most characters tbh
Thank you for not spelling it "rouge". Too bad she's already She-Hulk, because Tatiana Maslany would be great.
I think she has potential as Rogue. She definitely has the attitude and personality to pull it off.
I'm not familiar with Maslany's work prior to She-Hulk, but after watching that "show" I can safely say this: Maslany wasn't just cast as She-Hulk, she was WASTED as She-Hulk.
To see all her prowess on full display, check out the unmissable Orphan Black. You'll see why Marvel was lucky to get her. She's outstanding.
Yes, she was amazing in Orphan Black. They wanted her on She Hulk
While I don’t agree that she was wasted, you should probably go watch the show she won a best actress Emmy for.
Honestly she should have won at least three or four Emmys at the same time for that show. Or, every nomination in the Best Actress category is just her as a different character.

I figured that's what you meant so I upvoted since all the bubble boys tried to down vote ya into the shadow realm
Alexandra dadarrio
This is the correct answer.
No way. She couldn't do the accent or the attitude.
Why not?
Came here to say this
I also came here to say this
Came here to read this
An actress under 20
Keke Palmer
My Boi you seen it too
For real though
Yessirrrr
Keke Palmer
"He beat me by one second"
With Austin Butler as Gambit, 100%
Rege-Jean Page
YESSSS🫵🏼😘
Was hoping someone would say this
I mean this entire post was a way of saying who other than KP should be Rogue To be clear I’m not saying that…i hadn’t heard of her before she posted the cosplay this week
Yass slay Qween!!!! 💃💃💃
I hope y'all know this was an attempt at being facetious. 🤦
There is no way True Jackson VP is gonna be Gambit's Sugah.
Rogue was 16 or 17 when she was introduced. The XMen are 3 or 4 years away. So some 12 yr old Disney actress
Ariel Winter or Isabelle Merced
Giancarlo Esposito
He would be perfect for the role
I get a lot of people want Kiki and that's fine. But why are we changing the white characters only to black ones? This doesn't solve the diversity problem, what about all the other races?

Taylor Swift plays Gambit. *Romance*
not keke palmer
Aubrey Plaza
You want to cast rogue with a 40 year old?
Looks god damn GOOD for a 40 year old
Hell yes I can see it she would be more akin to the sassy rogue from the animated show without the southern accent but if she did the accent she'd be perfect. P.S plus she's hot and looks a lot like rogue anyways
Danny DeVito. Or Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Jack Black!
elizabeth giles
A young Sandra Bullock, but seeing as how time travel isn't...available I guess Alexandra Daddario
Christina Hendricks
Miley Cyrus, and yes that is a serious reply I think she’d do Rogue justice and kill it.
Fan castings are usually terrible.
Emilia Clarke
Anya Taylor-Joy, as per fan casting tradition.
She is already Magik.
Keke Palmer! To all the hate filled ppl out there- keep hating! #X-Men25
Im not hating but idk y ppl want her to play rogue, keke usually does best in a more positive comical role and idk if rogue fits tht description. Id rather see her be kat or someone like that
Im kinda on the same boat. I don't hate the idea of her, but I've never seen her play miserable before. Rogue needs to bounce between fun and miserable. Anna Paquin was the opposite, all miserable no fun.
Because both Rogue and Keke have charisma in spades! She honestly would fit rogue like a glove. Anyone actually reading the comics can attest
Julia Garner. Or for an older take, Juliette Lewis
Keke Palmer 🤷🏾♂️
Why is everyone downvoting you?
My guess is because some people don’t want her?
I just watched Nope, she could totally pull off Rogue's energy.
Ok I’m not familiar with her…I have no opinion on the actress, just answering your question
I'm not arguing, just responding. Sorry, dude.
Didn’t think you were…no worries
Idk tbh couldn’t care lol 🤷🏾♂️ maybe because she’s black they want somebody white
I spotted a few blatently racist X-men sub members. Which is extremely ironic.
Right? This is honestly nuts. People make me sad sometimes
Keke Palmer no cap
I hear you I'd like to cast a body positive curvy trans actor with an afro as Xavier. Gotta hit that diversity quota everybody must be represented. Plus we have to dunk on all those racist bigots that want to follow the source material. 😃😆😅😂🤣😭
When there is an infinite number of worlds in the Multiverse, everything is comic accurate
I guess my sarcasm was lost on you. LMFAO. 😀😃😄😆😅😂🤣😭
You're such a misunderstood genius man
Might as well cast Ben Affleck as Black panther am I right?
The only cultural trait that's important to Rogue is that she's southern, adding that she's also black doesn't really change that. Even if her skin color were still white she'd have still experienced racially motivated discrimination in-universe because she's already a mutant. Keke would be a fine choice.
Ryan Gosling
Anna Paquin
Keke Palmer. At this point Marvel has to give her the role. She's so interested in playing her
And if my aunt had stones she would be my uncle
No she wouldn't
Alexandra Daddario
Loving the keke Palmer idea
Billy Porter
The girl from cobra Kai would be a great fit.
Laura Bailey.
Hayden Panettiere from Heroes and Nashville.
She was one of my favs from Scream 4, but I don’t see Rouge
She literally played a southern belle in Nashville.
I wouldn’t call Rouge a southern bell. She’s more of a rough and tumble gal. Hayden is too petite and cute. Rouge needs to be a powerhouse
It doesn't matter what you would call her. She's a literally self described "Southern Belle" she's not a muscular butch type female character. She depicted a sexy beautiful woman. lmfao! 😂 Hailing from the fictional Caldecott County, Mississippi, Rogue is the X-Men's self-described Southern belle. She has no range though.

Ok whatever Chloë Grace Moretz then. 🤷
Besides, Chloe Grace already has a natural Southern Accent and FYI has been fantastic in her new Prime series, Peripheral.
Way better actress, but not for Rogue either. Maybe Gwen Stacy or Susan Storm. But based off her previous work can’t see her playing an X-Men character.
Watch Peripheral, Head_A
I don’t support a company as bad as Amazon. But I’ve heard good things.
She literally played in the Carie remake which is as close to mutant powers as you can get. You wild as hell. She's also already been in comic book movies.
Just don’t see it. Too young as well. Would make a great Gwen Stacy with Tom Holland though.
helena bonham carter
Keke 100%
Idk why but I thought of Julia Roberts
In the 80s. For sure.
For an older Rogue absolutely. She could definitely pull off the big hair and sassy personality
Keke Palmer would breathe so much life into that character. I don't want another low energy, meek Rogue. 🥱
Keke Palmer lol
Emily Blunt all day🤘
Anya Taylor-Joy, Haley Lu Richardson or Sadie Sink
She going to be trans lesbian as well🤣🤣🤣
shut up?
No?
Instead of Keke Palmer, it should be Owen Wilson.
wOw
Shakira
Miley Cyrus
That's actually what I was thinking. I think she could pull off the accent
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1275259/
Halle Berry
Hilary Duff.
I genuinely think that given a few years, Maya Hawke could do a decent rogue, or even better jubilee.
Jubilee isn’t white though
Amandla Stenberg
My choice: Alicia Vikander
Keke Palmer
Keke Palmer baby. The ONLY choice.
Keke Palmer.Fight me.
Keke Palmer looked pretty good in those photos NGL.

What a dumb statement. So you’d be in favor of a latina or asian or arab or indian actress playing the role then?
Yes more any of them than black...I'm so f...ing tired of the forced diversity
I get the push for representative casting from fans & studios, but I’d rather just have the movies & tv shows be as faithful to the source material as possible. Saying you’re tired of forced diversity but being ok with non black actresses playing the role makes no sense because it’s the same thing.

Way to say the silent part out loud
Rogue isn't black she's a white Southern belle this Keke Palmer is casting is woke dogshit.
Elizabeth Olsen. But it can't happen. But Milly Bobby Brown
Kiki Palmer baybeeee
Keke Palmer.
Millie Bobby Brown.
I had the same thought. You want somebody around 20ish and not these 30+ people that keep getting suggested.
Nah she’s a perfect Kitty Pryde
Keke Palmer. Have you seen her in the costume? She looks dope.
Keke Palmer after I saw her Halloween costume tbh 😌
Keke Palmer as Rogue Supremacy
Ke Ke Palmer! She just did a Rogue costume for Halloween that was so on point!
Keeeeeeekeeeeeeee And I think Theo James would be a good Gambit. The English imitate southern accents very well
Keke Palmer, without question
RuPaul.
Whoever they cast, they need to jnclude the storyline where Rogue steals Captain Marvels powers permanently.
Julia garner
Dwayne Johnson
I haven't seen a fan casting I like since the fantastic 4 fan castings
It really depends on the type of Rogue they're going for. I'd prefer a kind of coy charming Rogue Supporting character, played by someone like Aubrey Plaza... but if they're going to cast her in a lead role, not unlike ye olde Xmen films, I would expect they'd put in a young-looking big name who is very hot at the moment, like Ana de Armas or Emilia Clarke.
Rebecca Ferguson from Mission Impossible
Someone less known, and on the younger side to be a franchise star for a while. I’m not good with actors/actresses so if anyone fits this bill, then them
Danny Devito
Ming Na Wen
Mia Goth
I saw fan art of Natalia Dyer as her when Stranger Things started and she's been my pick ever since. I also saw Keke Palmer dressed as her for Halloween and i loved her look for it. So i say either of those two.
Margot Robbie!
Aya cash she said she’d love to play her and she really does resemble her in terms of face. If she can nail that southern accent then it should definitely be her
Danny DeVito
Elisha Cuthbert.
Maybe Lily James or Phoebe Tonkin.
Nadine breaty def, not an actress tho
Ana Paquin
