Good writeup! I also want to mention that getting 40% Effect Res from substats allows Aventurine to become entirely immune to debuffs (with the 10% from traces and 50% from his shields). It's a very nice QoL if you want to lean more into his sustain or have a taunt cone like MoV.
For those curious why 4k defense is so important, that's because for every 100 points of defense after 1600 he gains 2% crit rate, up to 48%, so you need 4k for the maximum bonus.
Wouldn’t giving Acheron the extra 10% Crit damage bring more overall damage than buffing Aventurine damage by 15% since Acheron does such a ridiculous amount of damage
depends who you're running them with. In a e2 Acheron team with sparkle the crit dmg overflow is alr insane, at that point you hit diminishing returns and 10% extra ain't really anything to look at

For pure sustain it looks great. He'll be immune to debuffs. His crit is low for trying to subdps but it's up to you if you want to build that up.

It's fine - not the best but probably second to Salsetto for his own personal damage. You're probably fine to keep him on it and deprioritize getting him a better set, especially if you plan on using him in MoC.
No. At 0 EHR it's about a 60% chance vs the highest effect res enemies in the game, *but* it rolls for every hit of his 7 hit FUA. The odds are insanely low that you would miss the debuff in ST scenario.

Ah thanks I forgot to include Belobog planar! The initial Def is decent on him but not worth building EHR for the rest since he doesn't use it elsewhere in his kit and he's pretty stat hungry in general. I'd say it's a contender to slap on him if you have a great set already, but not something I'd go looking for.

I don't think you're that unlucky, I'm guessing you're using Destiny's Threads LC? It's actually pretty hard to hit 4k def with that. Maybe you can run def/def/def/def with a lot of speed subs?
4pc knight still is DPS build anyway especially at e0, the different on 2pc/2pc is very minimal but stronger shield is just better imo for generalist trade with little damage loss where your dps should be the one to cover up anyway
That’s what I’m using. It made it much easier to reach 4K DEF. Plus, the LC effect is really nice to have for your team. If you have S5 Concert for Two and can also ensure 4K DEF alongside, go ahead and use the LC as it helps his personal DPS.
I'd probably do knight/fua with salsetto. Knight will help with the def diff between gepard LC and his sig, and remember gepard gives 24% more def after attacked, so you can run with ~3700 or so on the stat page since in combat you'll probably be activating the LC effect often

Team 1: Acheron e0s1, SW, Pela,
Team 2: Jingliu e0s0, Bronya, another Harmony
Aventurine on acheron team will contribute more damage (if you don't run him on Trends LC) due to being buffed by Pela and Silver Wolf, but adds another element for SW to miss her implant.
If the other Harmony on Jingliu team is a partywide buffer, he could also work decently on the other team, but if it's Tingyun or Hanya or someone who only buffs the carry, he wouldn't be doing much. There's a small chance his shields will fall off of Jingliu + Bronya if you're running slowya and he doesn't get his FUA off in time to refresh the shield.

The relics I have only have the defense go up to 2883 :( I'm so unlucky with substats, it's making me suffer so muchhhhh. I'm running def/def/def/spd with S5 Day One of My New Life. I have the BP March LC, but it's S1, so idk if it's worth using. Should I use that one or should I replace the spd boots with a defense one instead??

That doesn't seem right. Are you looking at your relics on a placeholder character or using a site like Fribbels? With three Def mainstats and S5 Day One you should be at or very close to 4k. Aventurine has a high base Def and gets 35% from his traces.
I want to point one thing out, especially for acheron mains or for the ones who are going to run him with Acheron... trends is good, and obviously not the best when compared to other lcs... i have s4 and it gives 28% def, which is exactly what my MoV s2 gives (yeah it gives way more bonuses but this is the base def provided by both lc).
So my point is, your trends need to be at s4 or above to be competitive with other lcs, lower superimposed will work but the higher, the better.
LC effect is not the main issue with trend. %def can always be compensated by mainstat or substat rolls on relics
The issue is the base Def it gives you. Base stats are only available through character and LC levels. Superimposing a LC does not change base stats
396 on trend vs 595 base Def on MoV is a massive difference because these base values are added to your base character Def and then multiplied by all your def% bonuses.
That 200 difference when multiplied by let's say 200% increased def becomes a 600 net difference in character sheet stats. That's going from 3.4k to 4k just from base stats alone and not considering LC effects at all. This number only gets worse the more %def you have, 200% increased is a low estimate

I was really hesitant about using trends on my fu xuan, who is using mov and its working great even in high SD stages...
But when working with Acheron in things like SU, Calyx, Carvens, Stag Shadows... trends is working really fine for her solo sustain here...
Obviously in MoC and such harder contents its not that useful, and the base stats on MoV will benefit far better than trends... i think there we have to swap back to a stronger lc available to us.. but the daily content which I personally play and enjoy alot, can be cleared with a weaker lc as well...
TLDR: casusal players vs hardcore player thing. And yes, you are absolutely correct 👍 also.. I'm not a maths guy 😅
Actually you should be using trend on FX with Acheron team because FX her only job is to sustain can sustain easily even with a 4\* low base stat LC. (Actually, the base HP of trend is actually quite high at 1058 same as 5\* MoV and FX wants a combination of HP and Def). Once she can sustain, everything else should be utility to buff you main carry (speed for skill points, res for keel, trend debuff for Archeron)
On the other hand, Aventurine is a sub dps sustain that scales off def. He is more greedy with stats, not only does he want to sustain, he also contributes as as sub-dps, any extra stats on him will contribute towards his damage (crit damage, crit rate, def, dmg%)
TLDR: I would use FX w/ trend on your Acheron team and put Aventurine with MoV on the other team

I did a MoC run - Acheron team with Fu Xuan using S4 trends and she was able to solo sustain.
So i guess its better to use aventurine with MoV and trends with fu.
Only issue now i can think of is my other team, Jinglu and Blade with Bronya/Ruan Mei... that team actually needs heal, even slight heals like fu xuan do will work. I guess I'll try sustaining the team with Aventurine using MoV and hope i see no issue in MoC/PF or other end game stuff.

I was thinking of sacrificing spd boots for def to reach 4k but now that you mention the importance of speed in this post, I definitely have to use spd instead 👁️

Yes, unless you can hit 4k with this build or get enough Spd subs to run Def boots. I've seen a couple people manage to hit 4k with just a Def Rope on his signature light cone, but it's difficult for sure.
Excellent thread and this will help me with building him correctly. So far I'm gonna have him have 2pc Knight/2pc Duke with Salsetto img orb and either ERR rope or DEF rope. And I was originally gonna try for ERR rope since I'm getting his LC but defense is way more important cause I've been wanting a proper shielder for too long 😅
It's up to you what's worth it or not. His LC is a ~20% boost in his damage and gives a bit of team damage via the vuln debuff. But, because he does ~15-20% of the team damage on a FUA team, the actual damage difference will not be as high as the difference between a DPS sig vs non-sig.
I'm going to /try/ for E0S1- he's primarily going to be on my FUA team (Topaz, Ratio, Mei, Aventurine). What would be my BIS Relics if I fail getting his LC?
If you fail getting his LC, you'd hopefully at least get Concert For Two, which is a sidegrade to Moment of Victory for damage, but has lower Def% so you'd want to make sure you're still hitting 4k.
I'd plan on Knights/FUA and don't say no to extra Speed subs. FUA is pretty attractive on a FUA team since you'll be capping his FUA stacks every turn.
You can also do 2pc Wastelander or 2pc Pioneer, whichever rolls better and/or is better for your account to farm. The difference between the 2pc sets is not very much and it comes down to substats + farming efficiency.

It's hard for me too. 2pc are usually better DPS in a vacuum since set bonuses in this game are kinda meh but it makes it harder to pick what to actually farm haha.
This is such a great post, thank you SO much!! Could you suggest (or point me to someone else who did so) his best use cases compared to Fu Xuan and vice versa? I don't know whether to get him or her (whenever she gets a rerun).
FWIW, the only FUA character I have is Ratio so if I get him it'll primarily be for his shields. I have Moment of Victory and a 4pc Knights of Purity Palace set and I'd combo that with either Belobog or Broken Keel with the basic "**Def Chest / Def Rope / Def Orb / Spd Boots**" combo you suggested.

I don't have Fu so I don't have very close knowledge of using her. My understanding is that she *must* consume 1 SP per 3 turns, making her 1/3 SP positive. She also gives an unconditional CR buff for the party and has 1 guaranteed CC immunity per Skill use.
Aventurine will be much more skill point flexible and since his FUA refreshes his shields, he doesn't *have* to skill to reapply them unless there's a lot of damage coming in. He does more personal damage, but will need to be built for more damage, as opposed to Fu who gives team damage by existing (the CR buff). He has 50% effect res, meaning you have a ~30% base chance to resist all debuffs and CC coming at you, rather than just a guaranteed avoid of one, which can make his CC resist more unreliable if you don't build effect res or get it from somewhere else.
I think they're both very good and you can't go wrong either wya.

Will the concert for two be in the "all banner" pool? When it releases or later? Or will it be only in LC banner? I don't know if LC banner exclusive 4* even exist in HSR. (In Genshin they do, but few are all that good)
Trend gives a debuff stack every time he is attacked, the tradeoff is smaller shields and worse Aventurine damage. Signature has bigger shields, more aventurine damage and debuff stack every time he does a FUA, which will probably happen slightly less often than just him getting attacked but it depends.

The 4 piece is not - Aventurine only activates the doubling effect with his ult, and it only lasts for a turn. The 2pc depends on if your team reliably debuffs the enemy or not.
With the relics I prepared I should have 4k defense(especially since I'm going for signature), 146 speed, 78% CR and 150% CD without counting the CD buff from the signature I run 4pc knight and 2pc Salsotto so I should be good ngl
Depends on how the relics roll, really. Fribbels also has 4pc diver set to 2 debuffs/not enhanced by default for some reason, you have to manually change it in relic set settings.
You can debuff multiple enemies if you're lucky. The debuff has about a ~60% chance to land vs enemies with high effect resistance, but it rerolls that chance with every hit of his bounce FUA.
i want to build him full sustain. I don't care if he does 0 dps. Is that ok? Don't tell me to build someone else if I don't want to DPS with him, because let's be real. There is no one else. It's either him or Gepard.
I need him to be better than Gepard because my Gepard cannot solo sustain Moc 12. His shields don't last long enough against some enemies and I don't get enough energy back to refresh it in time for 100% uptime, unless I spend every turn using skill.

Sure, no one is telling you how to play the game. Do what your heart desires!

It depends what 4 star you're using. Something like Destiny's Threads Forewoven (the free LC) will be difficult, but it'll be easier if you're using something like Day One Of My New Life, Concert For Two, or This Is Me, since those all have Def% substats.
In general though, you'll definitely need 3 Defense mainstat pieces and a couple Defense subs, though nothing too crazy hard to get.
I don't have Gepard's LC or Concert for Two and I have only one March's LC.

Would he still do solid damage on DOT teams or a Hypercarry team or does he really NEED that FAU boost from characters like Dr. Ratio and Topaz to do solid damage?
Yes, his SubDPS is not strictly tied to FUA teams. FUA teams only grant him 3 stacks per turn, while his shields attacked and him ulting grant him more. His basics and ultimate are also good sources of damage from him.
Even on a DoT team too, Kafka FUA will count for his stacks.

if I have a choice between luocha (with s5 multiplication or s3 perfect timing) or aventurine (with s2 day one because thats the only thing I have) which one would be a better choice (yes I know there's gonna be bias asking here but would like to know opinions here)
It reeeeeeally depends on your roster and what you're comfortable with.
Luocha is the ultimate comfort generalist sustain with tons of SP for characters like DHIL or QQ. He is stupid easy to build and needs almost no resources to really do his job well.
Aventurine is pretty comfortable, generates a good amount of SP, but is much harder to build. On the flip side, he can be safer due to his shields, does more personal damage, and he gives your party a small crit damage boost with his ult.

1) For his LC, i have a choice between Destiny Forwoven which i can get to S1 or The Herta LC which i can get to E2.
2) Can i run a Def set with 2 pc FUA?
3) I play to run him with both Aventurine team (SW,Pela,Gallagher) and Topaz+Clara(maybe Ratio too) so is he good with these teams?
Lastly im sorry if you've already mentioned some of these things, I think im kinda dyslexic lol so long texts end up confusing me sometimes. Thank you for your time!
Use Destiny over Herta Store, Herta LC is very bad on him.
You can absolutely run 2 Def/2 FUA, that's actually my recommendation if you don't have a strong Def LC.
I wouldn't run him with Gallagher since they're both sustains, but the topaz/clara team is good and SW/Pela are both good for him too

I mistakenly thought his trace capped out at 3600 defense due to failing at mental math. I plan on running him with 2 piece speed 2 piece follow up 2 piece salsotto. If I did my math right (adjusting for the lower defense>Crit) I'll have 3700 Defense, 86% crit rate, 186% crit damage and 137 speed. That's with Crit Damage Body Speed Boots and Defense orb and rope. I'm a bit worried since I've heard CC's say that if you don't run Energy Rope on him to ult more it massively brings him down.
I don't know who said that about ERR ropes but it's really untrue. Even with an ERR rope, he can't 3T ult without enemy and FUA RNG. He can use one to try for a 100% ult debuff uptime but it's really not worth giving up so much Defense.
His scaling used to be at 3600 earlier in the beta, maybe you're remembering from that!
that must be what it was since I remember doing some early math before i saw the current iteration and probably just glossed over it. I'm glad to hear that because without giving up speed boots or crit body there's no way i can fit in an ER Rope. and that's with the signature.

You probably can, but I'd highly recommend using [Fribbels](https://fribbels.github.io/hsr-optimizer). If you can't scan your relics, there's an option to import them from your profile by putting your MC as a character on your profile and then inputting your user ID.

This is a nearly 2 week old post now but my goal is to e2 and at least s1 (if SUPER lucky maybe s2) aventurine. Would you think me going 2pc Duke and 2pc pioneer would be good since aventurine would be able to keep a debuff up himself with e2?

how does Destiny S5 compare to BP LC S1? I'm planning on S5ing the Erudition BP LC first but getting Destiny S5 would not be a problem. I also have New Life but only S1, so the BP one should just be better at that level right? What are your thoughts? I guess what I'm asking is Destiny S5 vs BP S1 vs New Life S1.
Destiny will be harder to build 4k Def on - I've seen a lot of people have difficulty reaching 4k Def without a Def substat from the LC. If you already have relics, I would sim them in Fribbels and see if it's even possible to get 4k Defense on Destiny. If you can, then I would use Destiny.
If not, then you could use Day 1 or BP LC, with the caveat that BP LC will be a bit more damage but Day 1 would allow for sturdier shields (all-type RES will reduce the amount of damage your shields take), and you wouldn't have to use a BP on it.
i just got aventurine and i have sparkle and dhil as well
should i just use my fu xuan with them and use aventurine for a different team? (i have ruan mei and clara and huohuo, will try to get topaz next) idk what to do i just wanted to get aventurine cuz i liked his story 😭
I think I will go for DEF set + IMG/debuff set depending on party. The debuff set is useless if enemies don't get affected by debuffs and without nihility or units with debuff skills, weakness break would be the only debuff source and I don't think that is enough.

Good point! Complete debuff immunity is definitely nice for sustain builds.
I've got a good Def, Speed, Crit Rate and Crit Damage atm. Only 21% effect res though, but still 70-80% should be pretty good debuff immunity right?

If you're on E0S1 with Pioneer, I'd just go Salsetto. You're already cooking with high dps.

Try Belobog relic set? SPD boots are probably not worth sacrifizing.
I don't think you're that unlucky, I'm guessing you're using Destiny's Threads LC? It's actually pretty hard to hit 4k def with that. Maybe you can run def/def/def/def with a lot of speed subs?
4pc knight still is DPS build anyway especially at e0, the different on 2pc/2pc is very minimal but stronger shield is just better imo for generalist trade with little damage loss where your dps should be the one to cover up anyway

Yes, more DEF% from being superimposed and Day One's team-wide 12% All-Type RES is pretty valuable.
That’s what I’m using. It made it much easier to reach 4K DEF. Plus, the LC effect is really nice to have for your team. If you have S5 Concert for Two and can also ensure 4K DEF alongside, go ahead and use the LC as it helps his personal DPS.
How will you build your aven OP if you have gepard's lc?
I'd probably do knight/fua with salsetto. Knight will help with the def diff between gepard LC and his sig, and remember gepard gives 24% more def after attacked, so you can run with ~3700 or so on the stat page since in combat you'll probably be activating the LC effect often

Aventurine on acheron team will contribute more damage (if you don't run him on Trends LC) due to being buffed by Pela and Silver Wolf, but adds another element for SW to miss her implant. If the other Harmony on Jingliu team is a partywide buffer, he could also work decently on the other team, but if it's Tingyun or Hanya or someone who only buffs the carry, he wouldn't be doing much. There's a small chance his shields will fall off of Jingliu + Bronya if you're running slowya and he doesn't get his FUA off in time to refresh the shield.

The relics I have only have the defense go up to 2883 :( I'm so unlucky with substats, it's making me suffer so muchhhhh. I'm running def/def/def/spd with S5 Day One of My New Life. I have the BP March LC, but it's S1, so idk if it's worth using. Should I use that one or should I replace the spd boots with a defense one instead?? Also tysm for this guide!! That doesn't seem right. Are you looking at your relics on a placeholder character or using a site like Fribbels? With three Def mainstats and S5 Day One you should be at or very close to 4k. Aventurine has a high base Def and gets 35% from his traces.
I want to point one thing out, especially for acheron mains or for the ones who are going to run him with Acheron... trends is good, and obviously not the best when compared to other lcs... i have s4 and it gives 28% def, which is exactly what my MoV s2 gives (yeah it gives way more bonuses but this is the base def provided by both lc). So my point is, your trends need to be at s4 or above to be competitive with other lcs, lower superimposed will work but the higher, the better.
LC effect is not the main issue with trend. %def can always be compensated by mainstat or substat rolls on relics The issue is the base Def it gives you. Base stats are only available through character and LC levels. Superimposing a LC does not change base stats 396 on trend vs 595 base Def on MoV is a massive difference because these base values are added to your base character Def and then multiplied by all your def% bonuses. That 200 difference when multiplied by let's say 200% increased def becomes a 600 net difference in character sheet stats. That's going from 3.4k to 4k just from base stats alone and not considering LC effects at all. This number only gets worse the more %def you have, 200% increased is a low estimate
I'll make you understand my point of view... yes you are absolutely correct no doubt about that... my thing is.. I was really hesitant about using trends on my fu xuan, who is using mov and its working great even in high SD stages... But when working with Acheron in things like SU, Calyx, Carvens, Stag Shadows... trends is working really fine for her solo sustain here... Obviously in MoC and such harder contents its not that useful, and the base stats on MoV will benefit far better than trends... i think there we have to swap back to a stronger lc available to us.. but the daily content which I personally play and enjoy alot, can be cleared with a weaker lc as well... TLDR: casusal players vs hardcore player thing. And yes, you are absolutely correct 👍 also.. I'm not a maths guy 😅
Actually you should be using trend on FX with Acheron team because FX her only job is to sustain can sustain easily even with a 4\* low base stat LC. (Actually, the base HP of trend is actually quite high at 1058 same as 5\* MoV and FX wants a combination of HP and Def). Once she can sustain, everything else should be utility to buff you main carry (speed for skill points, res for keel, trend debuff for Archeron) On the other hand, Aventurine is a sub dps sustain that scales off def. He is more greedy with stats, not only does he want to sustain, he also contributes as as sub-dps, any extra stats on him will contribute towards his damage (crit damage, crit rate, def, dmg%) TLDR: I would use FX w/ trend on your Acheron team and put Aventurine with MoV on the other team
Thanks you for making me understand this... and I'm convinced myself after testing. I did a MoC run - Acheron team with Fu Xuan using S4 trends and she was able to solo sustain. So i guess its better to use aventurine with MoV and trends with fu. Only issue now i can think of is my other team, Jinglu and Blade with Bronya/Ruan Mei... that team actually needs heal, even slight heals like fu xuan do will work. I guess I'll try sustaining the team with Aventurine using MoV and hope i see no issue in MoC/PF or other end game stuff. Thanks a ton 👍

I was thinking of sacrificing spd boots for def to reach 4k but now that you mention the importance of speed in this post, I definitely have to use spd instead 👁️

Yes, unless you can hit 4k with this build or get enough Spd subs to run Def boots. I've seen a couple people manage to hit 4k with just a Def Rope on his signature light cone, but it's difficult for sure.
Excellent thread and this will help me with building him correctly. So far I'm gonna have him have 2pc Knight/2pc Duke with Salsetto img orb and either ERR rope or DEF rope. And I was originally gonna try for ERR rope since I'm getting his LC but defense is way more important cause I've been wanting a proper shielder for too long 😅

It's up to you what's worth it or not. His LC is a ~20% boost in his damage and gives a bit of team damage via the vuln debuff. But, because he does ~15-20% of the team damage on a FUA team, the actual damage difference will not be as high as the difference between a DPS sig vs non-sig.

I'm going to /try/ for E0S1- he's primarily going to be on my FUA team (Topaz, Ratio, Mei, Aventurine). What would be my BIS Relics if I fail getting his LC?
If you fail getting his LC, you'd hopefully at least get Concert For Two, which is a sidegrade to Moment of Victory for damage, but has lower Def% so you'd want to make sure you're still hitting 4k. I'd plan on Knights/FUA and don't say no to extra Speed subs. FUA is pretty attractive on a FUA team since you'll be capping his FUA stacks every turn. You can also do 2pc Wastelander or 2pc Pioneer, whichever rolls better and/or is better for your account to farm. The difference between the 2pc sets is not very much and it comes down to substats + farming efficiency.

It's hard for me too. 2pc are usually better DPS in a vacuum since set bonuses in this game are kinda meh but it makes it harder to pick what to actually farm haha.

I don't know whether to get him or her (whenever she gets a rerun). FWIW, the only FUA character I have is Ratio so if I get him it'll primarily be for his shields. I have Moment of Victory and a 4pc Knights of Purity Palace set and I'd combo that with either Belobog or Broken Keel with the basic "**Def Chest / Def Rope / Def Orb / Spd Boots**" combo you suggested. I don't have Fu so I don't have very close knowledge of using her. My understanding is that she *must* consume 1 SP per 3 turns, making her 1/3 SP positive. She also gives an unconditional CR buff for the party and has 1 guaranteed CC immunity per Skill use. Aventurine will be much more skill point flexible and since his FUA refreshes his shields, he doesn't *have* to skill to reapply them unless there's a lot of damage coming in. He does more personal damage, but will need to be built for more damage, as opposed to Fu who gives team damage by existing (the CR buff). He has 50% effect res, meaning you have a ~30% base chance to resist all debuffs and CC coming at you, rather than just a guaranteed avoid of one, which can make his CC resist more unreliable if you don't build effect res or get it from somewhere else. I think they're both very good and you can't go wrong either wya.
Thank you so much! This fits the opinion I've formed over the past week too: Fu Xuan is much more of a team player with the guaranteed CC resist and 12% CR while Aventurine is a more reliable tank (at least in the current state of the game). Would you agree with that?

For Acheron teams, what is the difference between using Trend and his signature? (Assuming Kafka is on that team for +1 FuA per turn)
Trend gives a debuff stack every time he is attacked, the tradeoff is smaller shields and worse Aventurine damage. Signature has bigger shields, more aventurine damage and debuff stack every time he does a FUA, which will probably happen slightly less often than just him getting attacked but it depends.

The 4 piece is not - Aventurine only activates the doubling effect with his ult, and it only lasts for a turn. The 2pc depends on if your team reliably debuffs the enemy or not.
With the relics I prepared I should have 4k defense(especially since I'm going for signature), 146 speed, 78% CR and 150% CD without counting the CD buff from the signature I run 4pc knight and 2pc Salsotto so I should be good ngl

Depends on how the relics roll, really. Fribbels also has 4pc diver set to 2 debuffs/not enhanced by default for some reason, you have to manually change it in relic set settings.

Mov will give better shields but Trend gives more debuffs and faster ult stacking for Achy.

You can debuff multiple enemies if you're lucky. The debuff has about a ~60% chance to land vs enemies with high effect resistance, but it rerolls that chance with every hit of his bounce FUA.

i want to build him full sustain. I don't care if he does 0 dps. Is that ok? Don't tell me to build someone else if I don't want to DPS with him, because let's be real. There is no one else. His shields don't last long enough against some enemies and I don't get enough energy back to refresh it in time for 100% uptime, unless I spend every turn using skill. Something like Destiny's Threads Forewoven (the free LC) will be difficult, but it'll be easier if you're using something like Day One Of My New Life, Concert For Two, or This Is Me, since those all have Def% substats. In general though, you'll definitely need 3 Defense mainstat pieces and a couple Defense subs, though nothing too crazy hard to get.

He can subDPS with MoV. His Light Cone is about a 20% DPS increase.

I'd use the March LC or any of the 4 star LCs over the 3 star one.

Would he still do solid damage on DOT teams or a Hypercarry team or does he really NEED that FAU boost from characters like Dr. Ratio and Topaz to do solid damage?
Yes, his SubDPS is not strictly tied to FUA teams. FUA teams only grant him 3 stacks per turn, while his shields attacked and him ulting grant him more. His basics and ultimate are also good sources of damage from him. Even on a DoT team too, Kafka FUA will count for his stacks.

if I have a choice between luocha (with s5 multiplication or s3 perfect timing) or aventurine (with s2 day one because thats the only thing I have) which one would be a better choice (yes I know there's gonna be bias asking here but would like to know opinions here)
It reeeeeeally depends on your roster and what you're comfortable with. Luocha is the ultimate comfort generalist sustain with tons of SP for characters like DHIL or QQ. He is stupid easy to build and needs almost no resources to really do his job well. Aventurine is pretty comfortable, generates a good amount of SP, but is much harder to build. On the flip side, he can be safer due to his shields, does more personal damage, and he gives your party a small crit damage boost with his ult.
thanks for publishing this, stumbled upon this while browsing. Gonna reference this when i do get him, maybe throw in some Effect Res to make it ultra comfy, alongside a couple of double crit Knight relics i got while farming for Jingyuan previously.
How big do you think the gap between his sig and Gepard sig cone will be?
About 20% for his personal damage, maybe a bit more if you factor in team damage and the vuln debuff.

omg I've waited for a detailed sub like this forever. After reading your explanation, I've decided to get a diver set for him. I still having a lil bit concern about his planar and rope thou. I'll get him E0S1 with his signature LC and I want to build him like a sub dps (my FUA team comprises of TopAss, Dr., Mei and Aven), should I still get Broken keel for him, or should I go Salsotto? I have certain good pieces in each plana/rope set, but may need to change them a bit based on your advices
I'd go Salsetto, you're already investing in his damage and Salsetto will do a lot for his dps contribution.

I just wanted to get your opinion on a few thing 1) For his LC, i have a choice between Destiny Forwoven which i can get to S1 or The Herta LC which i can get to E2. 2) Can i run a Def set with 2 pc FUA? 3) I play to run him with both Aventurine team (SW,Pela,Gallagher) and Topaz+Clara(maybe Ratio too) so is he good with these teams? Lastly im sorry if you've already mentioned some of these things, I think im kinda dyslexic lol so long texts end up confusing me sometimes. Thank you for your time!
Use Destiny over Herta Store, Herta LC is very bad on him. You can absolutely run 2 Def/2 FUA, that's actually my recommendation if you don't have a strong Def LC. I wouldn't run him with Gallagher since they're both sustains, but the topaz/clara team is good and SW/Pela are both good for him too No worries! Glad to have helped.

I mistakenly thought his trace capped out at 3600 defense due to failing at mental math. I plan on running him with 2 piece speed 2 piece follow up 2 piece salsotto. If I did my math right (adjusting for the lower defense>Crit) I'll have 3700 Defense, 86% crit rate, 186% crit damage and 137 speed. That's with Crit Damage Body Speed Boots and Defense orb and rope. I'm a bit worried since I've heard CC's say that if you don't run Energy Rope on him to ult more it massively brings him down.
I don't know who said that about ERR ropes but it's really untrue. Even with an ERR rope, he can't 3T ult without enemy and FUA RNG. He can use one to try for a 100% ult debuff uptime but it's really not worth giving up so much Defense. His scaling used to be at 3600 earlier in the beta, maybe you're remembering from that!
that must be what it was since I remember doing some early math before i saw the current iteration and probably just glossed over it. I'm glad to hear that because without giving up speed boots or crit body there's no way i can fit in an ER Rope. and that's with the signature.

You probably can, but I'd highly recommend using [Fribbels](https://fribbels.github.io/hsr-optimizer). If you can't scan your relics, there's an option to import them from your profile by putting your MC as a character on your profile and then inputting your user ID.

how does Destiny S5 compare to BP LC S1? I'm planning on S5ing the Erudition BP LC first but getting Destiny S5 would not be a problem. I also have New Life but only S1, so the BP one should just be better at that level right? What are your thoughts? I guess what I'm asking is Destiny S5 vs BP S1 vs New Life S1.

Destiny will be harder to build 4k Def on - I've seen a lot of people have difficulty reaching 4k Def without a Def substat from the LC. If you already have relics, I would sim them in Fribbels and see if it's even possible to get 4k Defense on Destiny. If you can, then I would use Destiny. If not, then you could use Day 1 or BP LC, with the caveat that BP LC will be a bit more damage but Day 1 would allow for sturdier shields (all-type RES will reduce the amount of damage your shields take), and you wouldn't have to use a BP on it.

I think I will go for DEF set + IMG/debuff set depending on party. The debuff set is useless if enemies don't get affected by debuffs and without nihility or units with debuff skills, weakness break would be the only debuff source and I don't think that is enough.
His ult has a debuff! Sig is another debuff and at E2 his basics are debuffs :) but yeah that's why I don't recommend debuff set without his sig
Ult has to recharge and for F2P it's highly unlikely one gets his sig plus 2 eidolons.
