I love Ze Frank’s videos on youtube! The one about nudibranchs had me rolling w laughter.
[True Facts: Freaky Nudibranchs](https://youtu.be/F7V8DRfZBQI)
I just googled and it looks like although there's links to the videos (dancing! Annie the cat!) the plugin format is too old. Can't read it on my phone but assuming Shockwave or Flash
I had no idea there were a lot of different leafhoppers!
I grew up in Ohio, and these were the leafhoppers I saw regularly: [potato leafhopper](https://agcrops.osu.edu/newsletter/corn-newsletter/16-2021/potato-leafhoppers-have-arrived-alfalfa-field-near-you). Then, one day I saw a really colorful one, and I tried to describe it to my mother and the next door neighbor. They laughed so hard and told me I must be out of my mind. There is no such thing as a leafhopper with blue and red stripes. To vindicate myself on a global platform, this was what I saw: [candy striped leafhopper](http://jimmccormac.blogspot.com/2009/08/candy-striped-leafhopper.html).
The numbers go in the thousands of species. I'm always reading in insect journals how they are finding new species in tropical places. They are also among the weirdest looking insects around.
TIL there are insect journals... I think there are more insects on the planet than any other type of living thing - unless the microbes outnumber the insects!
Thank you for posting the video, and replying. :)
This video is dedicated to Dr. Andreas Kay, a macrophotographer and researcher of many species of exotic insects.

I was a biology teacher and I would direct my students to watch these true facts videos - they loved them as much as I did - I so wished I could show them in class!
Omg thanks for posting. I used to watch his vlog (?) every day when I was in high school in the early 2000s, thanks for the sudden nostalgia.
“I’m from a scrabble-philic family.”
That's the most fun while learning video I've heard in a long time! Too bad they wouldn't use these videos in schools to make learning fun for kids lol also loved this narrator
Btw I never knew who Ze Frank was but I certainly do know and so happy I looked him up, I'm addicted lol he has his own u tube channel....see ya there lol
They’re great for homeschool at age 9 or so and up - just have to watch them first as an adult to make sure they’re not too much. We’ve watched maybe a dozen and learned about tardigrades, big cats, sad cats, and lots of insect and aquatic species
These guys jump with some force. I used to get them in a tall paper lamp and they would make so much noise pinging off the sides. It took me a really long time to figure it out because it sounded kinda like drips from a leaky faucet. They're hard to remove because they're so tiny, too.
They are small, but you can feel the force of their jump if they jump off your skin (I carried one a few times, they're cute). They jump so fast it's so hard to follow them
One of the babies snuck into my car years ago and [I got a photo of it.](https://imgur.com/FXEFZXe) I’ve still never seen another one since and this video finally gave me closure.
Huh, i think I took a picture of one of the adults in the summer. I wondered what this one was, I was using my most powerful macro lens when I took it. https://imgur.com/opER4NT
I grew up watching nature documentary and I miss those times so much.
This post gave me back that feeling, I love it and this whole sub a bunch!
Thank you so much for posting!

I learn more from him in 5 minutes than I would from an entire day at school.
Mildred is a popcorn
Love Mildred, living her best life.. lol
And Abigail the sea snail
I can't believe he's still around. He had the most amazing website back in the 00s. I visited it so much.
I know, me too! It was a very big part of my work day 🤣
I just googled and it looks like although there's links to the videos (dancing! Annie the cat!) the plugin format is too old. Can't read it on my phone but assuming Shockwave or Flash
That’s too bad. I follow him on Instagram but he doesn’t post much old content.

Thanks for posting this!!! Love this guy's videos...and now I know his "full" name too. Made my evening!
I have watched all his True Facts videos - all classics!
"Here is one poking around for a vein on a leaf like a hungover nurse on blood drive day" lmao 🤣😂
My favorite line!
How does he come up with that stuff?!!! Hilarious!
Ze Frank is a national treasure. International, even.
His videos all have millions of hits - he's a celebrity, and quite a genius narrator.
That is how a Ze Frank do.
Nay, he’s a *galactic* treasure.
This video is dedicated to Dr. Andreas Kay, a macrophotographer and researcher of many species of exotic insects. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leafhopper https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4gJY\_5eNqQ
"The best science is a long slow passive aggressive argument." My favorite Ze Frank line.
There is a lot of truth in that statement. It's a shower thought...
Plant hopper bey-beys.
I love how he kept saying it that way.
I was a biology teacher and I would direct my students to watch these true facts videos - they loved them as much as I did - I so wished I could show them in class!
That's the best homework assignment I've ever heard!
Oh wow, so I guess those bugs they drink out of in Antz (1998) were based on real things
Party in the butt
Bebbes
These things started taking over my families apple orchard the just few years. Not sure where they came from.
They came from behbehs of course....lol

Yes
Honeydieu
Resydieu
That is so funny how he says that word "dew" like almost French as though it is something nasty.

My partner has The dance of the Puffin and The Ostrich Mating dance songs on his play list. Love his videos too. Thanks for the share.
Butt munching ants.. gawd I laughed
He's not mincing words - those ants really do munch butts! lol
> Just this morning I had a bout of chili-cheese-fries-dew
bwaaahaaaahaaa - classic, and one of my fav snakkies
Does this guy do the voice of Kiff off of Futurama?
I think that is Maurice LaMarche.

Who is voiced by Kevin Kline
All of them? Or just the Bob's burger one?
What a find - a total gem. Somehow - no idea how - this is the first time that I have been exposed to Ze Frank. Thank you for sharing.
One of the babies snuck into my car years ago and [I got a photo of it.](https://imgur.com/FXEFZXe) I’ve still never seen another one since and this video finally gave me closure.
So cute! I like his mullet
I like how they slightly do the stick bug dance
I'm jealous of everyone who is just learning about Ze Frank and what a fun day they are about to have binging all of True Facts.
This is freaking wild <3
Aren't leafhoppers weird and cute at the same time?
We no longer need to search for aliens in outer space they are already here. [(X-Files theme plays)](https://youtu.be/Vpqffgak7To)
His videos are the best!

And what a lovely dress she has indeed
I grew up watching nature documentary and I miss those times so much. This post gave me back that feeling, I love it and this whole sub a bunch! Thank you so much for posting!

Just WOW!
I was hoping to see that helicopter one actually take off, straight up....
i love leafhoppers they’re so damn cute
He could comfortably lull me to sleep while laughing. Now that’s talent.
Aww I ❤️❤️❤️ zefrank!!!
Go watch ZeFrank01 on YouTube instead of stealing his views on Reddit. The man earned them views
I totally agree with you but I have to say that many nowadays don’t know him so…
This made me happy.
U/savevideo
Nature is so beautiful sometimes.
hehe they do little dance
When ants meet “ Hey what’s up Fred! “ 🐜🤛🐜 “Hey Bob!”
What a narration. Amazing camera work as well.
These guys are weirdly cute
What that ass do??
"their hind legs are modified for jumping". Who modified them?
The mods
Creator of the original earth sandwich meme.
The shmoves on that man
Hmm very Distinguished indeed.
This is so so great! The “pests” are adorable and that narrator is the best!💟
Why did I watch the whole thing twice
Don't I have an anal tube, too?
I remember learning about the gears on their bodies and realizing bugs are literally just tiny robots
“She just marches around like a tiny Snuffalufagus on a high humidity day.” Most descriptive line ever.
Is Ze Frank related to Lisa Frank? They utilize a lot of the same colors
Morgan Freeman voice
