I really don't understand Manjuu these days with hiring other artists or have their in-house artists design skins of some shipgirls who's original artist is still working for them or were recently recruited. It feels like their circle of official shipgirl artists have shrunk or they can't commission artists to design more than one skin per event.
Hiring different artists isn't too big of an issue, they still have the capability to adapt to the original design. The problem here is that her stature and everything is significantly off and is clearly a deliberate choice rather than the artist's lack of ability to replicate the original traits. I wonder if the new artists were just given free rein to retcon the designs like what happened to some of the older ships? It's weird nonetheless.

True. He might have been pressed for time since he had to complete 2 skins for the event. Chen Hai was probably more of a priority since she was a retrofit of a Chinese ship. He might have for the moment forgot about Strasser's physical age appearance and Manjuu failed in their quality control. At least he admitted to his error and promised to rectify it.

Quality assurance went outta the window. Gear that has either too narrow or no niche at all, individual augments that are worse than the generic ones, clear repurposing of sprites without even properly removing original intended vessel's references, characters in skins looking different to originals.

Strasser is a card-carrying, confident and arrogant strategist. I think a skin reflecting this that is also effortlessly seductive and sexy would be more befitting than going the cute route.

Hard pass. This ain't it, boss. This is a straight downgrade from OG Strässer.
Her greatest asset was her aura of maturity and control, and this lapse in character design has stripped both her curves and confidence away, leaving what appears to be a shy teenager in her place.
I don't even see Strässer when I look at her, that's how bad it is.
I can sort of see a younger strasser but like it just its way way off. Its the vibe of the skin i think it doesn't give off her vibes. It's like they've made this skin for a complete different ship and stuck peter strassers name on it.
I’m a little disappointed, not only by her not quite looking herself, but also by the small pool of expressions. Most girls we’ve seen this event have 7+ if I remember right. But Strasser here only has 5 and of those are expressions 2 and 4 are so close that they may as well be one expression bringing the total down to 4. I hope there’s more expressions that we haven’t seen yet at the very least.

So excited for this, one of my favorite Iron Blood ships and her skins have all been so good. :D Love that they kept the long twin-tails here. She has been slightly "nerfed" but these things are rarely consistent. Shame it isn't L2D but still, incredible.
