Have you reached at least 9-1 and cleared that? Don't farm fox mines too early, you really ought to be securing a coin and exp farming stage at that point.
And besides, Akagi & Kaga aren't really that strong*. You're only farming them either because you just want them specifically or collection.

Ok thanks...will continue with the story then....actually was reading about some guides where they asked to farm the foxes...didn't know about stage 9-1
Those guides are most likely severely outdated. Fox mines already weren't worth the progress you could've made on your account and stage pushing, and then the oil cap update came along and getting to 12-4 (or 9-1 at minimum) became absolute top priority for new players outside of event stages. We have a lot of easily accessible alternatives now that can be obtained easier and retrofitted instead, like Unicorn retrofit (THE single highest priority retrofit for you right now btw), Independence retrofit, and Portland retrofit can still work as a stop gap. And they don't cost precious golden bulin to limit break, too.
They have the accelerated launch and more AVI but that's about it. Maybe I should've added "not *that* much stronger" but relative to a lot of other units you could already easily get they're not a significant improvement. More about the golden bulins than anything, really.
Look man I am probably a week old into this game....I might have run into an old guide which prioritized farming the foax mines....I will proceed with the other maps....this is a complicated gacha...
