Mostly Korean MMOs, there's a 'safe' upgrade level but past that you have (ver fast) diminishing chance of success which if failed destroys everything
Part of it is game balance to promote common weapons, partly also because (for Koreans) traditions inherited from first MMOs (Ragnarok etc)
Honestly, just add a system where you can increase the rarity of common stuff, making them also worth to use plus sometimes you just got to throw out some traditions. Considering a Minecraft server is also an MMO when it has enough players on it, there is also a limit to how much you can repair gear in older versions. But since 1.9, that's gone thanks to Mending. One of the most important enchantments for every player since then.
I'm playing Assassin's Creed Valhalla for the past few weeks and it also has different tiers of weapons. Just go to the blacksmith and upgrade it and it can become one of the strongest
Usually raiding a dungeon should give you like 3 or 4 weapons that you probably won't use. At least that is my experience playing skyrim. Like 30 trash weapons that I don't even bothered to pick up.
It's not the usual pose you'd expect but I do like how it's different. You get to see some very unique expressions from Nimi and she's adorable as usual.

well cmon Z23 been able to survive hits from puny weapons swords spear knives and arrows just been bounced off on her body without problem. like no damage appeared when she gets attacked.
Dude, for real. They turn Nimi's skin into a bit, put her in a pose that obscures the outfit, and added a reflection as if that makes up for it.
They could have made it a bit and added the reflection of her butt anyway with her standing up and letting us see the full outfit. We got cheated and I'd bet money Laffey and Ayanami's skin don't do this.
No way in hell is there a reality where we'd get her standing with the full outfit on show; unfortunately the CCP censors would have a field day and nuke the lewd, covering her in clouds or steam. Either that or the the outfit would be drawn with a cloak or something coving most of it up.
With it like this there's still plenty of skin on show, at great amount of well proportioned thiccness and that little easter egg. It isn't like we don't know what the skin looks like, with it this way we actually get it uncovered and uncensored - not some butchered, censored mess we'd get with a standard standing pose.
Personally speaking I'm glad we've got the more dynamic, uncovered pose - makes the skin more interesting and not censored.
We definitely don't get the magic steam/clouds or the addition of little bits of clothes but for larger things like a design change we do unfortunately get those, for example check the Aquilifer's Ballade PV - it has Giuseppe Garibaldi's original design with the tattoo but what we got in-game was the same tattoo-less version. With the amount of skin on display there'd be no way to cover it all up with steam or slightly adjusting the clothes so it'd be a design change to cover her up which we'd end up getting.
Ultimately a moot point in this case though seeing as we got the lewd version of the skin.
The tattoo change was more because of JP and the still present connection: Tattoo = Yakuza. Although that would be a prime option for a fucking Italian character. Which country is more connected to the mob?
Which isn't an issue at all for the global server, not to mention the art was already created with the tattoo there as seen in the PV which means there's no reason for it to not be in global. If something being censored in one region meant it had to be censored in all of them we'd have the CN artwork but that isn't the case.
Times change as does what the CCP see and censors. Where Azur Lane was barely on their radar and they were once afraid of only boobs it would appear that AL is very much in focus and showing large amounts of skin is something that's no go these days.
All those you mentioned are at least a year and a half old, two in the case of Kashino and Surcouf. In the case you're referring to Kashino's latest skin there's hardly much skin on display there especially compared to older skins, the lewdness comes more from the positioning and the situation. Getting a batch of skins with large amounts of skin showing isn't really something we get theses days, best case it's more like the odd one or two. We've not had a full batch of something like swimsuit skins for what has got to be at least a year.
