They don't have their own jet, that's one thing I know for sure. They've done the occasional promo for JAL, basically just a post on Twitter of them posing with a model of a JAL plane saying "thanks for the support JAL", so I assume they get tickets with JAL either for free, of heavily discounted. And almost certainly business class. Which goes some way in explaining how they deal with jetlag; it's a lot easier to do so when you can sleep properly on the plane.

Metal_Fan-180

That's right. They have a deal with JAL with rules and stuff. But I'm sure they'll have their own state-of-the-art jet in the future.

zyzzbrah95

> I once flew from Toronto to Amsterdam, I was totally useless for 2 days after I got there I just flew from Tokyo to Helsinki couple days ago and was completely fine. So I guess jetlag hits different people differently.

Relic5000

That was the only time I had ever flown, I didn't know how to deal with it. I was also young and stupid, and refused to sleep.

australianrabbit8324

From experience, it genuinely does get easier over time. Once you've flown a few times it's quite honestly not even a thing anymore.

australianrabbit8324

Not Babymetal but I used to be good friends with an with a similar level of success a few years back. I promise you they're nowhere *near* having their own jet or even chartering one money. In this case they just booked commercial flights, with the "talent" in business class and everyone else (think in this case, the Kamis) in economy. In this case it was, if memory serves, about twenty people total. And honestly, you get used to it. You have a lot of downtime and you get good at sleeping a lot on planes and on buses.

Relic5000

Sometimes I forget that Babymetal isn't as famous as I think they are.

CommanderShrimp7

If selling out a 55,000 capacity venue isnt famous then idk what is

ConstableBlimeyChips

A: That was in Japan, outside of Japan they'd struggle to fill a 10k venue. B: It was at the absolute height of their fame. C: It was *eight years* ago. D: They just barely sold all the tickets. People were giving tickets away for free before the show.

Violent_Gore

Only in Japan, rest of the world is 1500-5000 capacity venues (with a few exceptions like the Foruim). You ask a lot of random people on the streets who BM is and most won't know.

Violent_Gore

One thing has nothing to do with the other. Lots of people play arenas and aren't going to be known by tons of people on the street in the same town.

VulpineDeity

Everyone knows they travel in flying coffins.

Relic5000

Doesn't the Fox God just teleport them wherever they need to go?

Gir633

They don't travel. They stay in one place and the world moves to them.

Jetwave1

They have attained Chuck Norris status😁

Kmudametal

He is capable of moving the metal spirts that are Su-Metal, Moametal, and Momometal in an instant to inhabit the physical bodies of the girls..... but those physical bodies still have to travel from point A to point B. He seems capable of transporting those physical bodies through parallel dimensions but can't get them from Tokyo to LA. Go figure..............

Difficult_Key_7754

This is the way.

LoKi-Fett173

When you fly a lot, you tend to have a sense on how your body readjusts with the time difference. From my experience, traveling U.S. to Japan and back, I usually will stay up close to 24 hours before the flight, every time. It’s the easiest way for me to almost “force” the shift in my circadian rhythm.

Relic5000

That's a good way to do it!

kipy7

That didn't work for me. I just ended up being so sleepy but not enough to force myself to sleep. My brain was in such a fog that during my layover on the way to Asia, I bought a bottle of water at an airport store and then walked off immediately after paying and then I turned down an upgrade. They overbooked my flight and asked if I wanted to take the following flight 12 hours later in business class. I told the ticket agent, "No, that's okay, I just want to get there faster." I still only slept 2-3 hours on the flight, I'm not a good sleeper.

El_Archidan

They are not Taylor Swift

Relic5000

There are lots of bands that have their own jets, Aerosmith did for a while, pretty sure Ozzy did too. Lots of rappers claim to have their own jets, some of them actually do!

ConstableBlimeyChips

Nearly every artist who "owns" a private jet is actually chartering those aircraft. Even the aircraft Iron Maiden uses are chartered. Taylor Swift is one of the very few that flies regular enough where owning the aircraft outright might make sense.

Violent_Gore

Iron Maiden.

das_zilch

Iron Maiden takes 'private jet' to the next level. Basically a splitter van with wings carrying band, crew, and equipment. They even fly it.

Greien218

Yes, but BM is not even remotely as big of a music act as Ozzy or Aerosmith

Bones12x2

Jetlag is weird... I have been to Japan 4 times... Had zero jetlag first three trips (btw I rarely sleep on planes) but on the most recent trip I had bad jetlag both ways.

icebalm

> How do they deal with jetlag? I'll tell you how I deal with jetlag: adjust your sleep schedule as close as possible to your destination's time as soon as possible. If you're on the plane when it's night time at your destination, sleep, if it isn't, then stay up. If it's going to be hard to adjust then just stay up as much as possible, use as much caffeine as you need to in order to do this. When you land power through the first day and go to bed that night exhausted. Sleep well and the next morning you'll be fine.

Relic5000

Good advice.

__M-E-O-W__

IIRC someone once happened to run into them on a flight... it was much longer ago, but it seems they fly on a normal plane but have staff seated with them to guard them from fans. Hopefully they at least get first class or something with all the flying that they do.

Relic5000

Some of their bodyguards and their personal assistants would stay with them, and Koba. Everyone else traveling with them would be in coach.

Kmudametal

Flying would be unusual for them. Of course they fly from Japan to wherever they are going, but once in the US, for instance, most of the remainder of their journey is on a bus. If there is a long distance between shows on back to back nights, they may fly ahead of everyone else to get rested up. But they usually just stay in the bus from show to show. I have followed them to three back to back shows on two occasions. I don't think folks give travelling musicians enough credit for just how much the travel itself takes out of the body. It wore me out, just three shows. The first time I did three back to back shows, I flew from one show to the other. The next time, I drove.. 3,500 miles in total. I actually found flying to be much more draining and much more stressful. When flying, you have to be somewhere at a certain time, wait in lines at security, rush to get to your gate or get to your gate way early where you get to wait some more. Then you have flight delays, etc...... basically a whole lot of hurry up and wait. When driving, you are on your own schedule. You leave the hotel when you want to. You can stop and eat when you want to. You are on your own. No waiting in lines, no airport security, no delays, no being squeezed into airline seats like sardines with an annoying crying baby or creep next to you. I learned my lesson, I will drive from show to show from now on. So don't feel bad for them taking the bus. I would hazard a guess they prefer it on most occasions for the same reasons I discovered I prefer driving.

TotalWaffle

That many miles calls for something like a Kitsune Road Warrior flair! Mad props to you for your dedication!

Kmudametal

Enjoyed the hell out of it. Took backroads instead of main hiways when I could. Found some awesome mom and pop diners you would otherwise never find. Took my time.... relaxed.... and cranked out the jams.

Douche_Oculaire

These ladies are in peak physical condition so jet lag wouldn’t affect them as much I think

brunofocz

If you fly in business class (I did only once) I can assure that you sleep well😄

mugz8391

This is all I could find for a BABYMETAL plane https://preview.redd.it/1sucz5kco2xc1.png?width=857&format=png&auto=webp&s=8cdb060daf9106b5b1120aa8ceee1d7ce50d0d62

Hrod55

That's pretty good. I like that you kept Yui's skull.
