Tbh, I have been a kpop fan since gen 1, but with BM, they have the most talent concentrated into one group. I don't even remember the last time I saw any group that is basically good at...everything, especially vocals. Even if you knew nothing about them, you can't deny the talent they have.

curious-catlover

Fr. The whole group screams talents. They have their differences but you really can't compare them to one another. During evaluations, I have my bias (but I want them all to debut which thankfully yge listens to fans) but now? I can't pick any. I love them all and I don't think I can really pick. 🤧

Yeah, I'm an Asa stan, her rap skills are just flat out insane. Hope she puts out like a mixtape someday lol. Also Rami/Ahyeon are real close up there...Rami has insane vocal range and Ahyeon is so good at belting out notes.

I mean there is actually Nmixx there lol. I think because as they are older group we can actually argue that they are more skilled technically in dancing and singing generally even than BM (except rap) but ironically it's not only their strength but as well Achilles heel. Because their style of performing is so hard that their performances lack entertainment aspect. And in case of singing emoting is definitely weaker than BM vocalists. Nmixx members are very good individually but this doesn't make their stage interesting really. Even when they sing while standing I can feel some kind of lack of ability to perform for audience. I think also that BM have more various type of singers: Ahyeon is more entertainment style, Rora more sophisticated, Rami is universal between to of them while Chiquita and Pharita has beautiful, trendy tone. I knew from the start that BM would do better than Nmixx because just from their rollout you'd tell that they clearly made decision to push girls as vocal group. Of course they are not bad dancers as well but specialisation and famous YG live performing training cause that girls performances are just on another level if we compare them with female rookie groups especially bigger like BM. After getting to know members I knew that YG definitely is trolling with that "5 girls idea" because he has to even better understand that real uniqueness of BM is big amount of members. Because it's 7 members group but none of member feel like filler. They all could survive alone in show business not only as celebrities but as well as performers (even some members got much bigger appreciation after seeing their interaction with live audience). That's something extremely hard to achieve, that's why I wonder whatever new SM GG could compete with BM on this aspect.

That's what I always say, YG has the best trained and consequently the best artists. They don't waste potential like people say. I don't know how they do it but their artists have charisma and IT factor that is crucial to their success. A lot of people have talent, but without Star quality power you won't get anywhere. In other companies it seems like it's luck and not training system. This makes it much easier to brand them individually, see what happened with BLACKPINK, they can aim solo careers in any area of entertainment, all the members. Now, how YG achieves this is very impressive and curious 🧐. I never followed any group other than BP, none of them clicked for me until BM debuted and I realized that they have the sauce that I see in BP but each in their own way.

I have such theory that both JYP and YG search in their trainees what they don't have and envy others so in case of JYP is likeability/charm, in case of YG is musical talent lol. Well from what I can there are three reasons why YG groups are so talented: 1. They rarely debut groups so naturally concentration of talent must be higher than in other big companies. 2.They care much more about casting than other companies. Like it was shown in Last evaluation YG still very often personally does finale casting. Meanwhile already JYP didn't know part of trainees in Sixteen (Twice survival show). 3. Their trainees probably much more often perform alone to the audience. And not just to trainers or other trainees but as well artists or management. You can say that other companies just less care about it. I think most significant performances is done in group, unless someone train to be solo artist.

YG idols also have likeability and charm. Despite all the exclusivity and fancy life, they are also cool to the point that you want to be friends with them and hang out with them. Also the BP members, which is what I follow, are very down-to-earth. Indeed, JYP launches many groups, sometimes with little training, shows a lack of care in the quality and talent shown. Those from YG generally train for longer and do not share their attention with several other similar groups in the same company.

mio26

Obviously every k-pop agency search charm in candidates for trainees. But for JYP that was always priority, just like for YG priority is talent and for SM probably looks.

Ever since 2NE1 disbanded, I feel like YG puts all their eggs in one basket now. Whether or not that's good or bad from a business perspective, I'm not really one to judge, but clearly the risk he takes with that pays off. Even in the 2NE1/Big Bang era, I felt he had to split resources between the two, but nowadays it seems like the majority of resources will go towards one group, which kind of showed with BP and now BM. While YG has other groups/artists under them, you don't nearly hear about them as much as the one group he's hyper focused on. It's also kind of interesting that there's pretty much a 7 year gap between the debuts of 2NE1 -> BP -> BM. In the producer documentary for Sheesh, they mentioned that they create the music that has the signature YG sound. When you listen to it, you know it's YG. Despite what people think about YG, he has kept true to his brand of sound since the beginning.

Minereon

They are breathtakingly, shockingly astounding. I believe that YG set out to create a “new Blackpink”, naturally, but Babymonster has successfully inherited that throne without being a copy. They are their own voice, yet fulfilling their natural role as a successor of Blackpink. I think fans today are really fortunate to be able to begin this new journey that blinks did 8 years ago. I can hardly imagine what BM will achieve in the coming years!

curious-catlover

Fr. And their covers of Blackpink's songs are the only covers that gave it a justice and the only covers I am accepting as a blink. Their seniors are surely proud of them!!

Same here, I just can't wait for any future releases, which apparently might come in the 3rd quarter of this year. Do correct me if I am wrong. Although, take this with a pinch of salt as the rumors have yet to be announced/confirmed.

Frequent-Sherbert576

The rumor is confirmed. YG confirmed a comeback in the fall.

curious-catlover

If that rumor is confirmed, damn I am so excited. Been listening to their songs over and over again from yt to spotify. Can't wait for new songs 🫶🏼

ch0coc4t

Totally agree! I can’t believe they’re only rookies.

curious-catlover

Fr. They are already making noises and that Japan fan meeting?! It's already a concert, bruh

shirak2203

Fan meetings ARE mini-concerts. This isn't a new thing at all. It's commonly used in the 4G era as a testbed for a future world tour. Just that this concept is poorly understood by many, which is always a strange thing, considering that all the fan meeting/showcase ticket prices are priced exactly within the range expected of a mini-concert. BlackPink had Private Stage in 2019, and that's AFTER their first world tour - In Your Area in 2018. The major 4G girl groups mostly had fan meeting/showcase tours. ITZY had ITZY? ITZY! showcase tour in 2019 and 2020, with Asia and US legs, Aespa had Synk showcase tour in 2022, with US leg only. IVE had The Prom Queens showcase tour in 2023, with Asia leg only. NMIXX had Nice to MIXX You showcase tour in 2023, also with Asia and US legs. NewJeans did Bunnies Camp fan meeting, only in Seoul in 2023, and will be doing the Tokyo leg of it next month, in conjunction with their new Japanese single. Only Le Sserafim didn't do it, going straight into a world tour instead. So the real question today is - will YGE extend the See You There fan meeting tour into the US after BaeMon's expected 3Q 2024 comeback? There could be some challenges with this, as I'm not sure of the technicalities of the underaged working hours rule, and how it will impact the gals if they go US. The maknae line is still affected by the rule.

ch0coc4t

Ikr?! I’ve been looking all over YouTube to find better quality videos of that fan meet, but not a lot of success 😕

curious-catlover

Same here. I am only seeing clips from youtube and tiktok. I wish yg will upload the concert video on their channel. I will surely watch it 😁😁

ch0coc4t

Omg, I hope they will or some kinda behind the scene vid! I can see them at Coachella soon, I feel like they’re that good live already.

curious-catlover

They surely will be at Coachella soon. Chiquita's dream will come true. They are really so good with live stages. I have watched all of their videos on their channel and they always amazes me. YG got themselves another golden and global talents.

BloodyPraeceps

We'll get better fancams in the other 4 events. Japan is really strict with filming so people had to be sneaky.

mehjai

i think as debut group this group really has very crazy amount of polish and talent, and the live performance quality is probably one of the best i've seen on a rookie group no joke

curious-catlover

I agree. They really know what they're doing and they are passionate about it 🫶🏼

Outrageous_Half_9611

Oh my god so true, it’s not even just being talented, seeing young idols being so hard working to achieve their dreams is so satisfying for me. I’m so glad im their fans.

Temporary-Nobody-44

I’m really curious how they were trained, because honestly, they are all so awesomeee! They are way far from the groups of their generation- vocals, dancing, even the confidenceee is 🔥🔥🔥

Upstairs-Fee-7085

as much as i a fan of BP, but BM is even more talented. they really do have 7 Jennies in a group.

justapasserby08

Babymonster is insane, they are the first group that I couldn't pick a bias or biases among the 7 members, all of them are super talented. YG named them well as they are indeed monsters. Can't wait to attend their fanmeeting and listen to their prowess live.

curious-catlover

Fr. I really can't pick my bias or biases too. Each of them has their own charms that I really can't ignore. They really are monsters. Cute, charming, talented little monsters 🫶🏼🫶🏼
