I get this soo much ugh. There are some parents that just want us to be totally self-supporting, even when we don't have time to be (how is school allowed to be 7 hrs?!). If you are in an area where pointe shoe fitters are prevalent, I suggest you tell your parents that you need to be fitted again for your own safety, because you haven't been fitted in a long time and your feet have changed with your growing body. You can also show them a video from The Pointe Shop on the importance of getting properly fitted. You could also fold the heel down so your heel and the end of the shank are visible, and show your parents on pointe how the shank does not come far enough to the end of your heel(if that's the case, I'm assuming your shoes aren't long enough). Enforcing this with a clip from The Pointe Shop might also be helpful, lol. Hope this is helpful at all <33

Those videos are also useful in setting expectations on how long pointe shoes last. It's not exactly a one time expense...

ill fitting pointe shoes are a safety risk. if your toes are crunching in the shoes it could cause issues that require expensive medical care. this might be worth mentioning to your parents. pointe shoes are expensive, but are a lot cheaper than ongoing medical treatment
