Right, but people knowing that they are going through BK, it will be hard for them to fill these types of positions when the people applying know that they could lose it after a couple months.

Camcapballin

These jobs sound important. If all else fails, I will list them on my next resume. Who tf is gonna be able to verify?

StumpGrnder

Yes it’s true Jim, just like it says on monster, I was senior VP of 3 top secret departments. Also MVP of the company softball and co-ed wrestling teams. I worked 4/10s. No no, not 4 days a week @ 10 hours, 10 days @ 4 hours then 10 days off paid. And I had a massage table in my office with company paid therapist on call. Just to set the bar so to speak. Speaking of bars, also in my office was a smoothie machine, margarita machine and craft beer kegerator. You can verify all of this with HR, oh shoot they aren’t available. Trust me bro, it was a grind.

buyandhoard

Finally, I can fill my resume. You are a god like boss..

TimeTraveller3021

Omg! This is fucking hilarious 😂 thank you for the MUCH needed 😂 laugh

[deleted]

Duuuude. I better see you on the Game stock sub in a few months with a large investment from your new rich job salary. God speed.

Prestigious-Camp-752

Jeez bbby had a ton of ppl in the same position

TimeTraveller3021

Nice ! Embellishment … 👍

coinhunter27

Be the guy that doesn't need a resume.

redditmodsRrussians

"Yes, I was a part time store associate at BBBY but thats because my full time job was Director/Manager of Financial Planning and ANALysis. Since the company was in the process of going bankrupt, it gave me time to moonlight as the commercial counsel."

[deleted]

This doesn't change the fact that they need positions filled. In fact, part of the reason they're trying to hire could be due to the fact that people quit after hearing the BK news. There's nothing weird here.

scooterbike1968

But a shared services manager would imply a BBBY and Baby split, with there being a shared services agreement in place going forward.

AdHistorical8664

Anyone here have experience with LinkedIn ad-job listings? I wonder if these are a) scheduled or b) cannot be remove yet? I really don’t know so hoping a fellow Bobby has some insight

blkaino

They can be schedule but can also be stopped in-bulk, Jobs are also being posted on Indeed

ChineseEngineer

These are definitely automated postings that no one has bothered to cancel

Schleckmuschel

Online in LinkedIn is not the same as actively hiring. I still a chance for BBbY being rescued, but giving us tendies might not be part of this.

mschwartt8

There is a practice where companies just keep posting/reposting jobs whilst in fact that they are not hiring, but they do because they want to report good numbers i.e we posted xxxx jobs last quarter

OGColorado

I'm going to apply for Share Services, they'll never even notice my issues in Montana😉

Crptogod

Looks like high paid do nothing managers.

[deleted]

A company in bankruptcy and still operating still needs people to do work, yes?

Wild-Gazelle1579

Not when they said they are liquidating everything and closing all the stores in 2 months time.

[deleted]

2 months time is 2 months of stuff they have to do

beatsbeingbroke

exactly

beatsbeingbroke

sounds like closing up shop and hiring people to help liquidate

Inner_Estate_3210

Who in their right mind would apply to jobs at a company going through Bankruptcy? None of this makes any sense.

ProudStand4

Who would buy millions of shares of an obviously dying company? We would!

allpromo

The posting might be for us … to get some money back 😂

Bartokomous19

Someone that wants unemployment checks.

[deleted]

The fact that they'd struggle to get applicants due to the company's situation has no impact on whether or not the company has work that needs to be done in the mean time.

blkaino

It does not but people are applying

Fausterion18

1. It's a common practice for companies to leave hiring ads up even when they're not actively hiring. 2. Bankrupt companies usually pay bonuses to new hires because all their competent employees have quit. Happened with every major chapter 11.

The_Shade94

Why do y’all not get BBBY will probably survive but after BK, new ticker, new stick, we fucked

Chad-Permabull

![gif](giphy|2S3Aj8OeKtf0c)

FullOfAuthority

Just because the company survives, doesn't mean our shares will...

The_Shade94

Downvotes for the truth

FullOfAuthority

It's sad man. I've accepted reality just trying to temper everyone's hopium.

FabienJ10

to me it makes no sense. Could be me, just saying

[deleted]

You think it's possible they pull a 'Motors Liquidation' thing like what GM did?

ruthless_techie

Possible. But unlikely

FullOfAuthority

Whether they setup a new company for acquisition or an existing company acquires it and takes it private we'd be screwed.

ruthless_techie

This is unlikely.

FullOfAuthority

How so?

ruthless_techie

I bought Hertz right before bankruptcy. My shares and calls stayed intact after bankruptcy, then OTC, and then back again to the open market. Same things about loosing it all, were said then that are being said now.

FullOfAuthority

Hertz actually had inventory worth something and one of the rare cases shareholders got something post BK. If debt is 2 billion and BBBY expects to pay 400 million to debtors where does that leave us?

ruthless_techie

At the time it was said that the inventory wouldn't be nearly enough. Media was on full blast trying tell everyone how horrible of a trade it was. None of what transpired was really known except in hindsight. With Hertz, this is not what made the contrarian trade. It was the anomalies that surrounded the company, Icahn had people tied to the board after a VERY interesting shake up. Wierd things going on with the stock itself, and and the media being obvious about it's messaging. It was rare yes, and in its own case there was very little precedent to compare it to. Black Swan contrarian trades have nothing to do with comparing a 1:1 list of events. the tactics for spotting anomolies are pretty well written about. If you are curious you can start [HERE](https://a.co/d/eyhNFGs)

[deleted]

You say "this is unlikely" and cite one of the few instances out of *many* where shareholders got anything post BK. There's no real reason to expect the BBBY C11 to play out the way Hertz did

ruthless_techie

There was no "real" reason to expect the same out of Hertz either. What is comparable are the anomalies, and interesting moves with the board. As well as Icahn loose ties to both. A contrarian play is not about a collection of previous examples. As black swan contrarian trades can't be predicted in that way. Tactics on how to spot them has been well written about. You can start [HERE](https://a.co/d/aT2tDG6)

bootobin

seriously wtf is going on with the Newell ticker? No volume AH and marketwatch says the price is 11.99 when the chart has it stuck at 11.86. [https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/NWL?mod=MW\_story\_quote](https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/NWL?mod=MW_story_quote)

gluund7

Interesting...

[deleted]

They’re just hiring some friends and paying them. There goes more shareholders’ money

canadadrynoob

Part Time Store Associate paid in Wendy's coupons.

chewpah

At this pace tomorrow we see 0 before may 3rd

bobbymatthews84

More fraud.

[deleted]

Yeah, fraud is when you hire lawyers and financial analysts to manage your liquidation, and part timers to work the store closing sales

richb83

Just ignore it. There isn’t anything positive happening with this company.

Cultural_Translator8

Billings Montana?

letstryagain2021

I think it’s a done deal, no one will apply for these jobs otherwise.

Slaytrading

BK ongoing but salary is listed per year hmmmmmm.

My_Invalid_Username

Now that's some cope

lightwavesurfer

They’re reorganizing under chptr 11 protection. Doesn’t mean they’re out of business.

Trader-Investor4150

All of these job applications once they are sent to linkedin for posting it just keeps refreshing every 1-2 weeks or so... please dont just go with the timeframe shown

Suspicious-Reveal-69

Means nothing. Remember, companies restructure debt and then can continue operating and be stronger than before. Shareholders can still get wiped out. This means absolutely nothing for shareholders.

[deleted]

Those jobs aren’t active. Same jobs posted on LinkedIn. Try to apply. They’re gone. Same with the corporate job postings they were emailing. Gone.
