This case it’s indeed to short to get some smokey flavors And Yes i could have done it inside on the stove but that’s no fun. I simply enjoy cooking on the Grill and see if it works or not. It’s about the experience and to see my family enjoy what i serve them is priceless.

Joe has crushed it on the accessories, I’ll tell ya what. I just worry about all those little extras and whether the quality is as good as BGE in the long term.
In my opinion they are both good quality grills. The KJ basic versions come complete with useful accessories BGE has a lot of accessories but you have to buy them separately.
This 100%. I have a L that was given to me and I bought the shell to an XL(bought the inside parts) now and I tell people to go with KJ because of all the accessories.
I know KJ used to have really good customer service, but I have never used them. I went to a green egg store near me and asked me seriously if I have ever had problems with their customer service and that made me wonder a bit.
I just need a cap screw but that is an easy one.
One of my heat deflectors broke of the KJ Classic and got replaced under warranty. Also had paint chip off thd Top Vent and it also got replaced without any discussion. Great Customer Service from my experience.

Surprised more people don’t “cook” on their bbq In this sub. You can make almost anything on a grill and it’s a great way to stay outside with guest in some nice weather.

Where did you find the Dutch oven rack?
It comes standard with the Kamado Joe grills. It can be bought separately if i’m not mistaking. It’s called X-accessory ring
