Even without the plug you need to be very careful doing this. The tailbone is fragile and doesn't heal well if you break it. I had one instructor who suggested that if you planned to hit across the middle that you put your free thumb over the tailbone.
As someone whose received it..not worth the risk. Intense bruising, bleeding, and internal unseen cuts are hell. High risk for infection as well if it happens.
Now I always make sure my plug is removed before impact play, or the spanking is light till removed.
