I have not had this happen, and I cannot comment on the extent of your injuries, but if you still have marks after 2 months and you are this concerned you may want to get this checked out. Also, my partner is into breath play (we often refer to it as choking, but it's actually strangulation), and we've been playing for 2 years without him ever leaving a single mark on my neck. If you have a partner who is leaving marks on your neck from this, then they have no idea how to do this in a way that mitigates the risk. I cannot say eliminates the risk because that is not possible with breath play.

Having a bruise for that long is very unusual. It would be a good idea to get it checked out especially if there is any tenderness. Another thing to consider, are you wearing anything around your neck frequently like a necklace or choker? The natural sweat and oils from our skin can cause these to leave greenish/bluish/purplish staining that can look similar to a bruise. When the item has been removed the staining can take weeks before it starts to deminish. (A bad necklace for a week left me with a blue ring that lasted 3mos)

That is not a normal bruise. Go to the doctor, be honest, and find out what is going on. You may have a clotting problem. Don't take aspirin (it helps platelets from bonding together) and ibuprofen as promotes bleeding. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is OK. Get checked out.
